Abstract

Background: Knowing the description of serum electrolytes in those with a history of hypertension and congestive heart failure is critical. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to look into the estimation of serum electrolytes, the correlation between serum electrolytes (sodium (Na+), potassium (K+), chlorine (Cl-)) levels with blood pressure, and the demographic characteristics of heart failure patients with a history of hypertension. Method: A retrospective design was used in this study, which used progress records (e.g., participant demographic data, medical history, and clinical laboratory tests such as serum electrolytes and blood chemistry) from patients with hypertension and Heart Failure (HF) who were hospitalized. Result: The present study established no correlation between serum electrolyte levels and blood pressure. The highest of Na+ levels were 169 mEq/L, K+ 6.4 mEq/L, and Cl- 119 mEq/L. Most participants had the habit of not smoking (87 people, 79.8%) and not consuming alcohol (91 people, 83.5%). Demographic characteristics such as gender, smoking habits, and alcohol consumption had no significant impact on serum electrolyte levels, except for a history of alcohol consumption on sodium levels, which had a significant effect (p-value = 0.014). Furthermore, an absence of correlation was observed between demographic factors and blood pressure. Conclusion: A lack of relationship between serum electrolyte levels and blood pressure. Similarly, demographic characteristics were not correlated with blood pressure. HF patients with a history of hypertension show normal serum electrolyte levels, but a significant relationship between alcohol consumption habits and sodium levels was found.

Abstract

Background. Schizophrenia has common symptoms, one of which is violent behaviour. The impact of violent behaviour makes patients unable to control themselves by hurting themselves and others and even damaging the environment. Interventions for schizophrenic patients at risk of violent behavior through collaborative interventions, namely Assertiveness Training therapy encourages patients to behave well by expressing their feelings and thoughts. Objective. To make patients at risk of violent behaviour more assertive by expressing their feelings and desires and meeting their needs. Methods. This writing uses a case study design, focusing on the Assertiveness Training collaboration intervention, which consisted of 4 intervention sessions conducted over 6 days and were repeated in 2 intervention sessions. The sample in this study amounted to 1 person, namely the patient Mrs AY in the Kabela Isolation room of the RSJ, Prof. Dr V.L. Ratumbuysang.  Results. There is a decrease in pre- and post-set scores, which proves that patients can act assertively. Conclusion. Patient Mrs AY's assertive behaviour increased, and several results related to the provision of assertiveness training therapy, which is used as a reference for educational purposes, prove that assertiveness training therapy has an influential success rate in reducing violent behaviour in patients.

Abstract

Background: Excessive online game use among adolescents can affect both mental and physical health, including causing academic stress and sleep disorders. Objective: This study aimed to examine the relationship between online game use and academic stress and sleep disorders among adolescents at SMK N 1 Motoling Timur. Method: This quantitative study used a cross-sectional design involving 155 tenth- and eleventh-grade students selected through total sampling. Data collection was conducted in June 2025 using three questionnaires: Online Game Playing Frequency, the Educational Stress Scale for Adolescents (ESSA), and the Sleep Disturbances Scale for Children (SDSC). Data were analyzed using Spearman correlation tests. Results: The findings showed that the majority of students had high levels of online game use (48.4%), high academic stress (75.5%), and experienced sleep disorders (91.6%). There was a significant positive relationship between online game use and academic stress (r = 0.346; p = 0.000) and between online game use and sleep disorders (r = 0.493; p = 0.000). Conclusion: The higher the intensity of online game playing, the greater the risk of academic stress and sleep disorders. The study recommends guidance from schools and parents to help adolescents control online gaming habits and manage stress and sleep patterns in a healthy way. Keywords: Online games, academic stress, sleep disorders, adolescents
