Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of attention of students during learning. This can be seen from the number of students who do not pay attention to the teacher such as chatting in class or daydreaming. In addition, the social studies subject is considered a boring subject, so every time a teacher is given practice questions, students always find it difficult to answer them because they do not understand so that it has an impact on student learning outcomes. The research method used is quantitative research. This type of research is a type of experimental research. Based on the results of data analysis, it shows that the social studies learning outcomes on the pre-test score before being treated with an average value of 57.86 with the highest score of 93 and the lowest of 27. Meanwhile, the post-test score by giving treatment using pop-up media on learning outcomes has an average value. -Average of 74.66 with the highest score of 100 and the lowest 33. Judging from the pre-test and post-test scores for social studies cognitive learning outcomes, it can be seen that the average increase in learning outcomes on the post test (after treatment) is greater than what happened that happened in the pre test (before treatment). Student learning outcomes increased when treated using pop-up media on social studies learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research is motivated by an understanding of the importance of character education and its application to students in elementary schools. By adopting Mior Dadin as a philosophy that comes from the local wisdom of the Sikka community, this study aims to introduce Mior Dadin as a cultural treasure that needs to be preserved in its implementation to students in elementary schools. The research took place in several elementary schools in the Doreng District, which acted as pilot schools in the implementation of Mior Dadin. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The results showed that most pilot schools had made Mior Dadin the main activity for developing the character of students and used it as teaching material or teaching material for teachers in the classroom. Mior Dadin is also integrated with efforts to introduce and develop other local cultural elements, such as traditional games, cultural arts, and local crafts so that students can gain a lot of knowledge and skills that come from these cultural elements.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the use of inquiry learning methods on the learning outcomes of fifth grade students in science subjects of light traits in Catholic Elementary School Nita I. This research is a quasi-experimental study. The sample of this study was 39 students consisting of 20 VA students as the experimental class and 19 VB students as the control class. Learning outcomes tests and learning motivation questionnaire sheets were used to obtain data in this study, with a t-test performed to test hypotheses preceded by a prerequisite analysis test in the form of a normality test. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of the inquiry learning method has a positive and significant effect on the students’ learning outcomes. The group of students who took part in the learning with inquiry learning method obtained a better post test score which was equal to 76.25 compared to the group of students who followed conventional learning who obtained a post-test average score of 65.26.

Abstract

Virgin Coconut Oil is an oil that is processed from the extraction carried out from fresh coconut fruit which is processed in various ways, one of which is by using traditional methods, namely the natural processing process, namely by photosynthesis. The purpose of making Virgin Coconut Oil is to take advantage of the potential of nature in agriculture in increasing the empowerment of the creative economy of coastal communities during the Covid-19 pandemic. The method used is socialization and training on the process of making Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO). The result obtained is that the people of Watukamba Village realize the importance of utilizing the natural potential in agriculture and being able to produce VCO independently to increase the economic income of the community. The conclusion after community service activities during the pandemic is still felt the benefits by the community and the sustainability of virgin coconut oil (VCO) processing.

Abstract

SMP Negeri 4 Kojadoi adalah salah satu sekolah yang berada di wilayah Kabupaten Sikka yang berada di Desa Kojadoi. Daerah tersebut berada di wilayah kepulauan Kecamatan Alok Timur. Jarak tempuh dari tempat pengusul ke lokasi mitra 24 km. Transportasi yang biasa digunakan adalah Kapal Motor dengan lama waktu perjalanan selama kurang lebih 3 jam. Sekolah SMP Negeri 4 Kojadoi merupakan satu satunya sekolah SMP di Daerah Kepulauan Kecamatan Alok Timur yang mana daerah kepualaunnya terdiri dari 3 Pulau yaitu Pulau Kojadoi (Desa Kojadoi), Pulau Kojagete (Desa Kojagete) dan Pulau Parumaan (Desa Parumaan). Oleh karena itu SMPN 4 Kojadoi merupakan sekolah yang menjadi sekolah Favorit untuk anak anak dari daerah ketiga kepulauan tersebut, namun demikian masih ada permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh SMP Negeri 4 Kojadoi,. Permasalahan yang paling utama saat observasi di sekolah SMP Negeri 4Kojadoi adalah, (1) Keterbatasan sarana dan prasarana yang ada di sekolah tersebut yaitu minimnya bahan ajar yang digunakan di sekolah SMP Negeri 4 Kojadoi dalam kegiatan pembelajaran di kelas. Siswa hanya menggunakan buku paket yang tersedia disekolah., selain itu tidak adanya kegiatan praktikum untuk mendukung kegiatan pembelajaran dikelas sehingga menyebabkan minat dan motivasi siswa dalam belajar rendah (2) 100 % guru belum pernah mendapatkan kesempatan untuk mengikuti pelatihan pembuatan bahan ajar, hal ini disebabkan ketersediaan yang dana yang tidak mencukupi, dan kurangnya akses informasi yang diperoleh karena kesulitan jaringan di sekolah tersebut sehingga kurangnya akses guru untuk bisa mendapatkan pelatihan sebagai wahana untuk bisa mengembangkan diri (3) Kurangnya inovasi pembelajaran yang diberikan oleh guru kepada siswa-siswanya pada kegiatan proses belajar mengajar sehingga siswa tidak aktif dan kreatif pada saat proses pembelajaran (4) Kurangnya pemahaman guru untuk memperkenalkan kearifan lokal daerah dengan mengaitkan mtaeri pembelajaran dengan kearifan lokal Kabupaten Sikka. Solusi dari permasalahan yang dihadapi adalah memberikan pendampingan pembuatan modul berbasis kearifan lokal Kabupaten Sikka dengan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning sebagai sarana dalam proses pembelajaran.Tujuan dari kegiatan PkM ini adalah untuk meningkatkan keterampilan guru SMP Negeri 4Kojadoi dalam membuat modul berbasis kearifan lokal melalui model Problem Based Learningyang dapat digunakan nantinya sebagai bahan ajar dalam proses pembelajaran di kelas. Hasil implementasi kegiatan PkM ini adalah adanya peningkatan keterampilan guru dalam membuat modul yang dikaitkan dengan kearifan lokal Kabupaten Sikka yaitu sebanyak 100% guru dapat membuat bahan ajar berupa modul.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the talents and interests that exist in each grade VA student at SD Inpres Iligetang. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study. This research was conducted at SD Inpres Iligetang with 23 subjects. Data collection techniques using documentation, observation and interviews. The research data were analyzed using the Data Analysis Component according to Miles and Huberman with data collection analysis, data presentation, data reduction and the last one was drawing conclusions. The results showed that out of 23 VA grade students of SD Inpres Iligetang, 14 had the talent for playing football, 6 of them had the talent for drawing, 1 talent for singing, 1 talent for counting and 1 talent for dancing. While the interests of the VA class students of SD Inpres Iligetang include 4 students having an interest in playing footballs, playing music 1 person, drawing 2 people, learning Science 3 people, Mathematics 2 people, PKN 2 people, SBDP 1 person, Bindo 1 person, IPS 3 people, studied Religion 3 people and interest in singing 1 person. Based on the results of the research above, it can be concluded that every student has talents and interests, although not maximized due to the limited infrastructure for teachers and support from parents, but with an understanding of the talents and interests of each VA grade student of SD Inpres Iligetang, it should be noted and developed. by teachers, parents and the social environment in order to be good knowledge in educating and fostering students both at school and at home.

Abstract

The indigenous people of Palu'e Island, Sikka Regency, NTT Province, have used geothermal energy to meet their needs for drinking water and to cook certain types of food. Geothermal will produce steam, a form of energy conversion where heat energy from within the earth is used for cooking Hi'pe (Canavalia ensivormis). Therefore, this study aims to analyze science process skills in Nawu Hi'pe activities implemented in elementary school science learning. This research uses mixed or mixed method research that combines two research methods: quantitative and qualitative. The research was conducted at Edo Khatolik Elementary School with as many as 22 students and five people from Palu'e Island, Sikka Regency, as a community sample. The results showed that students' science process skills per indicator were forecasting/predicting at 2.7 (good), observing at 3.75 (very good), conducting experiments at 3.7 (good), concluding at 3.6 (good ), and the last indicator is communicating at 3.65 (very good). The indicator with the lowest average is predicting at 2.7 (enough), and the highest is observing at 3.75 (very good). There was a difference in student learning outcomes between the pretest scores of 52.7273 and the posttest scores of 82.7273. The posttest value is much greater than the pretest value. Therefore, the science process skills of students taught through observing Nawu Hi'pe activities obtain higher learning outcomes after being given learning and included in the excellent category. Masyarakat asli Pulau Palu'e, Kabupaten Sikka, Provinsi NTT, telah memanfaatkan energi panas bumi untuk memenuhi kebutuhan air minum dan memasak jenis makanan tertentu. Panas bumi akan menghasilkan uap yang merupakan bentuk konversi energi dimana energi panas dari dalam bumi digunakan untuk memasak Hi'pe (Canavalia ensivormis). Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan analisis terhadap keterampilan proses sains pada kegiatan Nawu Hi’pe yang akan diimplementasikan pada pembelajaran IPA di SD. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode campuran atau mixed method research yang menggabungkan dua metode penelitian yaitu metode kuantitatif dan metode kualitatif. Penelitian dilakukan di Sekolah SD Khatolik Edo sebanyak 22 siswa dan 5 orang Masyarakat Pulau Palu’e, Kabupaten Sikka sebagai sampel masyarakt. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan proses sains peserta didik per indikator yaitu meramal/memprediksi sebesar 2,7 (Baik), mengamati sebesar 3,75 (sangat baik), melakukan percobaan sebesar 3,7 (baik), menyimpulkan sebesar 3,6 (baik), dan indikator yang terahkir yaitu mengkomunikasikan sebesar 3,65 (sangat baik). Indikator yang memperoleh rata-rata rendah yaitu indikator memprediksi sebesar 2,7 (cukup) dan indikator yang paling tinggi yaitu mengamati sebesar 3,75 (sangat baik). Terjadi perbedaan hasil belajar siswa nilai pada pretest sebesar 52,7273  dan nilai postest sebesar 82,7273. Nilai posttest jauh lebih besar dari nilai pretest. Oleh karena itu, Keterampilan proses sains siswa yang dibelajarkan melalui observasi kegiatan Nawu Hi’pe secara langsung  memperoleh memiliki hasil belajar lebih tinggi setelah diberikan pembelajaran dan termasuk kategori baik.

Abstract

This study aims to increase reading interest in learning Indonesian material for fairy tales in class III SDK 077 Kewapante. This research is a class action research (CAR) using Kurt Lewin's research flow which was carried out for two cycles, where each cycle consisted of 4 meetings consisting of four stages, namely the planning stage, the implementation stage, the observation stage, and the reflection stage. The subjects in this study were class III students at SDK 077 Kewapante, totaling 28 students consisting of 21 boys and 7 girls. Data analysis techniques in this study used quantitative data analysis techniques, namely learning test results and qualitative data analysis techniques in the form of observations and questionnaires. Data collection techniques in this study used observation, questionnaires, tests, and summaries. The results of the study using pop up book media showed that there was an increase in students' reading interest in learning Indonesian material for fairy tales as evidenced by an increase in the average value of students' reading interest in cycle I of 78.66% with a proportion of completeness of 80.35% and in cycle II experienced an increase with an average score of students' reading interest of 87.31% with a completeness proportion of 92.85%. This shows that the use of pop up book media is one of the media that can be further applied in the learning process in class in learning Indonesian to increase students' interest in reading in class III SDK 077 Kewapante..

Abstract

This study aims to improve the ability to distinguish the meaning of the second precept of Pancasila through the Discovery Learning model using visual media (Microsoft office powerpoint, laptop, smartphone, projector/infocus) for fifth grade students at SDI Wairotang. This research is a classroom action research (CAR) designed to help teachers (researchers) find and solve learning problems that occur in class. This classroom action research will be carried out in cycles, between cycle I and cycle II. Samples taken as many as 10 people. The results showed that after giving action for two cycles the average value of the test results increased the ability to distinguish the meaning of the second precept of Pancasila using visual media in PKN subjects had increased. Cycle I The first meeting resulted in a score of 64% and the second meeting 69% with the category not fulfilling the KKM and in cycle II the score increased at the first meeting by 78% and at the second meeting by 94% which also increased by 100%. This shows that learning to increase the ability to distinguish the meaning of the second precept of Pancasila using visual media in PKN subjects can be further applied, in order to improve student achievement, especially in PKN subjects.

Abstract

This research is a Class Action Research (PTK) which is carried out in two cycles. The purpose of this study is to determine the application of a contextual approach in improving students' ability to calculate multiplication. The subjects of the study were grade III students of Waiara Catholic Elementary School. The data needed in this study are quantative and qualitative data consisting of learning outcomes data, observation results on learning implementation, learning outcomes assessment rubrics, and process assessment. These data are sourced from students and the school. Data analysis using quantitative and qualitative analysis. Quantitative analysis is used to explain the success rate of students in calculating on the multiplication material. While a qualititative nalisis is used to explain changes in the behavior of students and researchers in the learning process. The results showed that the use of a contextual approach to multiplication material can improve the learning outcomes of grade III semester I students at Waiara Catholic Elementary School for the 2022/2023 Academic Year. This is shown by the percentage of student completion of 76% in cycle I increased to 92% in cycle II.
