The current study fills this gap by examining the use of storytelling method in developing learners’ listening comprehension as a start to learn foreign language. The base allegation of this study is that storytelling method can improve the young learners’ listening comprehension. Classroom Action Research were implemented in this study, by observing, planning, treating, re-observing, and reflecting respectively this research conducted. Observing and planning were conducted in pre-investigation until find the problem. The first observation found that there are several young English language learners have under average listening comprehension, they were treated using storytelling method on two meeting and gave them 1 test. The re-observation conducted through observing the differences pre and after treatment using observation sheet and listening test. The result findings that storytelling method plays an essential role in shaping young learners listening achievement. Furthermore, this method can build an effective classroom atmosphere that can encourage students be active in learning process. This study provides beneficial insight for English language teacher on how storytelling method can develop young learners listening comprehension which can help a lot in the beginning learning foreign language. However, to improve our knowledge of listening comprehension and storytelling method, more research is suggested to examine other variables and research participant and repeat the study in various contexts.

Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) is reshaping education by enabling adaptive, personalized, and efficient learning experiences. This literature review examines the current trends, opportunities, and challenges of AI in education, with a focus on Intelligent Tutoring Systems, automated grading, and personalized learning platforms. Evidence suggests that AI can significantly enhance student engagement, learning outcomes, and instructional efficiency by tailoring content and feedback to individual needs. At the same time, ethical considerations such as data privacy, algorithmic bias, and transparency remain critical challenges. Integrating AI into curriculum design and educator professional development is essential to maximize its benefits while promoting responsible and equitable use. By synthesizing recent research across multiple educational contexts, this review offers insights for researchers, educators, and policymakers to strategically implement AI technologies. The findings underscore that AI, when thoughtfully applied, can complement human intelligence, foster innovative pedagogical practices, and create more engaging, inclusive, and future-ready learning environments.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of Game-Based Learning through the Wordwall application in improving students’ vocabulary mastery at SMK Kesehatan Medika Farma. The subjects of this study were 34 tenth-grade students of the TLM (Medical Laboratory Technology) class, selected using random sampling technique to ensure varied student proficiency levels. A preliminary observation revealed that students’ English ability, especially in vocabulary, was still limited, affecting their reading and writing perfomance. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design conducted in two cycles. The instruments used included a vocabulary test consisting of 15 multiple-choice participation and motivation during the learning process. Quantitative data were obtained from the pre-liminary study, cycle I, and cycle II results, while with qualitative data were derived from classroom observations. The data analysis combined quantitative and qualitative approaches. The findings revealed that the integration of Wordwall as a Game-Based Learning medium effectively enhanced students’ vocabulary mastery, motivation, and classroom engagement. The use of interactive digital games made learning more enjoyable, promoted active participation, and supported students’ retention of new vocabulary.
