Abstract

This research analyzes the design of Islamic religious education curriculum development which is centered on subjects. Simple, easy to organize, execute, and understand, this design is one of the longest used today. In addition, if modified, this design is not very complicated. Data collection uses qualitative methods, literature study. The aim of this research is to examine in depth the subject-centered PAI curriculum design. This research method uses the library method. The research results show that subject-centered curriculum design helps achieve educational goals by arranging material in a structured manner. Some of the designs discussed here include subject, discipline, broad field, correlation, integration, and process designs. Each design has advantages and disadvantages in its application. This research recommends a PAI curriculum design that balances the needs of students with current developments, so as to create effective and relevant learning.
