Abstract

The aim of this study was to discover high school students’ general perception about the implementation of Google Classroom as an online learning media, and the factors that influenced the development of the perception. This research used Mixed-method research design as described by Creswell (2014). Subject of this study was the student population of SMAS Lab Undiksha Singaraja. The instruments used for this research were Questionnaire and Interview Guide. The instruments were tested by using Gregory Formula Method and Cronbach-Alpha method. The data that have been obtained was analyzed using quantitative and qualitative method. The result of the research showed that the students of SMAS Lab Undiksha Singaraja held a positive view on the benefits of Google Classroom and its implementation as online learning media. Factors that have influenced this perception are Google Classroom’s ubiquity, students’ familiarity with Google Classroom, Google Classroom’s ease of use and stability in comparison to other similar applications.

Abstract

This study aims to improve vocabulary mastery through drilling techniques integrated with technology at An Elementary School in Bali through vocabulary videos and to find out students' opinions about its application. This study used the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method. The subjects in this study were the fifth-grade class, totalling 19 students. Data were collected through vocabulary tests, observations, and interviews. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the use of drilling techniques integrated with technology through vocabulary videos can improve students' vocabulary mastery. In addition, all students said that the drilling technique integrated with technology can motivate the spirit of learning and make the classroom atmosphere comfortable. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of drilling techniques integrated with technology can improve the vocabulary mastery of fifth-grade students at An Elementary School in Bali.

Abstract

The research was conducted to improve students' vocabulary mastery by applying drilling techniques combined with technology through vocabulary video media at An Elementary school in South Bali and to find out students' responses to the use of drilling techniques. Data collection was conducted through interviews, vocabulary tests, and observations using Classroom Action Research (CAR), which involved 35 grade 4 students. The results showed that drilling techniques combined with technology through vocabulary videos were very effective for students to understand vocabulary well, as seen from the pre-test with a score of 64.43 to 75 in cycle I and 87 in cycle II, which successfully exceeded KKTP. The student responses were very positive because they felt motivated, and the classroom atmosphere became fun because it was balanced with audio visuals. From the implementation of this study, it can be concluded that the use of drilling techniques integrated with technology can improve the vocabulary mastery of grade 4 students.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to improve students' vocabulary mastery with the use of drilling techniques integrated with technology through English vocabulary videos and to find out students' opinions regarding the implementation of drilling techniques through vocabulary videos. This research is a Classroom Action Research (PTK). The subjects in this study were fourth-grade students of An Elementary School in Bangli Regency, Bali, totaling 25 students. There were two data collection techniques: vocabulary tests and student interviews. The research procedure includes stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. Based on the study's results, it can be concluded that using drilling techniques integrated with technology through vocabulary videos can improve vocabulary mastery in students. This is evidenced by the results of student scores from the pre-test with a mean score of 57, which increased in cycle I to 74, and in cycle II increased to 86. In addition, students' opinions related to the implementation in class or online said that the use of drilling techniques integrated with technology through vocabulary videos was exciting and fun; besides that, students also felt motivated and more enthusiastic in learning, and of course, it could improve students' vocabulary mastery. Therefore, it can be concluded that using drilling techniques integrated with technology through vocabulary videos can improve vocabulary mastery in students at An Elementary School in Bangli Regency, Bali.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to improve vocabulary mastery through the use of drilling techniques integrated with technology. This study is classroom action research. 21 4th grade students of SDN 1 Tunjung were the subjects of this study. The necessary data were collected through vocabulary tests and direct interviews with students. The results showed an increase in the average score of students from the pretest of 39.76, increased in the post-test 1 to 72.14, and ended in post-test 2 with a score of 88.33. In addition, the positive response from students regarding the application of drilling techniques integrated with technology supports the statement that drilling techniques integrated with technology are the appropriate solution in improving English vocabulary mastery, especially at the elementary level.
