Abstract

Pulau Nasi has significant potential for cattle farming, but this potential has not yet been fully maximized. One of the factors contributing to the suboptimal cattle farming in Pulau Nasi is the traditional free-grazing method used in livestock rearing. Unfortunately, this method has several drawbacks, one of which is the ease of disease transmission among animals. Currently, the livestock in Pulau Nasi are facing an outbreak of Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD), a virus that affects cattle and buffaloes, which can potentially lead to death if the animals are infected. The aim of this community service activity is to enhance the community's skills in preventing and managing the spread of the FMD virus among livestock in Pulau Nasi. The activities carried out by the KKN-PPM UGM team include providing socialization to farmers and assisting in the treatment of livestock infected with FMD. The results of this activity show that the community has gained a better understanding of how to prevent and manage the spread of the FMD virus among livestock. The approach used was a qualitative method with data collection techniques including interviews, observation, and documentation.

Abstract

Introduction/Main Objectives: This study examines whether economic policy uncertainty (EPU) influences managers’ choice to engage in real earnings management (EM) in the Indonesian capital market. Background Problems: As a major driver of aggregate economic growth and business cycles, EPU may induce information asymmetry, affect the quality of financial reporting, and raise concerns about how macroeconomic conditions may impact how managers behave in managing reported accounting numbers. Novelty: This study explains how the lean against the wind theory and the lean with the wind theory affect real EM behavior in emerging markets. In addition, this study considers the endogeneity problem, which has frequently been overlooked in similar studies, and provides a robust analysis utilizing a variety of tests to validate the proposed hypothesis. Research Methods: This study investigates 1,800 firm-year observations represented by 200 Indonesian publicly listed firms from all industries that have data available, except the banking and financial industries, from 2012 to 2020.The researchers employ time-series cross-sections, pooled ordinary least squares (OLS),and robust standard errors clustered by years. Finding/Results: EPU causes managers to engage in more real EM. This result holds for a series of robustness tests, including testing by using a presidential election for alternative measurements for EPU. From additional analysis, this study reveals that the effect of EPU on real EM is more significant for more profitable firms. Conclusion: This study supports the lean against the wind theory for emerging markets. This evidence implies that EPU conditions induce managers to engage in more real earnings management in emerging market firms, and the uncertain environment can reduce the quality of financial information .

Abstract

Abstract

The need for healthcare services in Indonesia is crucial and a top priority for improving the quality of life of its citizens. The quality of healthcare services largely depends on nurses, who constitute the majority of healthcare workers in Indonesia. STIKes Indonesia Wirautama Ciparay, as the only higher education institution in the field of health in Ciparay, is committed to producing professional healthcare personnel. With the increasing number of students, a second campus was established in 2022. However, this new building lacks adequate facilities, such as practical laboratories and classrooms that do not meet national standards. This study aims to redesign the interior of the new building of STIKes Indonesia Wirautama Ciparay using an activity-based approach to create a comfortable and supportive learning environment. This approach focuses not only on creating physical comfort in the rooms but also on providing facilities that support the teaching and learning process. Thus, it is expected to create a more focused and comfortable learning environment, helping to improve the quality of education and produce competent and professional healthcare personnel. Abstract

Non-formal education through Sanggar Learning Activities (SKB) has become one of the strategic alternatives in an effort to improve the School Average Age Index (RLS) in Indonesia. In support of such improvements, the SKB building must continue to operate, in order to facilitate communities that are not served by the formal education system. The research aims to develop an optimal interior design of the Sanggar Learning Activity, taking into account the functionality, aesthetics, and comfort aspects of its users. The methods used to gather primary data are with interviews, observations, and field studies, while secondary data is done with literary studies. Given the number of programmes organized by the SKB, there is a high level of activity. So the theme applied is "Collaborative Learning Space" with the concept used is "Integrated School", this concept embodies the idea of providing a balanced and integrated space between academic activities and skills, with design elements that support both. Thus, with this redesign it is expected to create a more dynamic, interactive, and relevant learning environment for learners, as well as generate a positive impact in the development of non-formal education in society. Abstract

Formal and informal education in Indonesia has a crucial role in increasing and developing human potential as a whole in physical and spiritual terms. One form of religious education that plays an important role in building a generation of Muslims with noble morals is Islamic boarding schools. Tahfidzul Qur'an Ibadurrohman Islamic Boarding School is a modern Islamic educational institution in Tasikmalaya City. However, interior planning has not yet become a top priority, even though interior space planning in the Islamic boarding school area can provide comfort, especially in interactive and collaborative learning activities in order to improve user quality and the character of the space in the Islamic boarding school. This is proven by the lack of a setting system related to space dimensions, density and room atmosphere. Plus the spatial layout is still less effective so that it is less than ideal in organizing the spatial characteristics. Therefore, it is necessary to redesign the interior of the Tahfidzul Qur'an Islamic Boarding School in the city of Tasikmalaya with the application of Dynamic Modern to make the room more attractive and functional so that it can maximize activities and provide comfort for space users, especially in learning activities by providing solutions to existing space problems. The results of this research are interior design suggestions that can help optimize activities in the school environment, especially in learning activities. Abstract

Purpose: Stunting is a serious global issue characterized by children's height not being proportional to their age. The high prevalence of stunting is caused by factors such as chronic malnutrition, recurrent infections, and a lack of psychosocial stimulation during the first 1,000 days of life. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of integrated education in improving health cadres' knowledge and attitudes regarding stunting prevention in Panggungharjo Village. Methods: The method used was quantitative with a quasi-experimental design without a control group, involving 14 health cadres for toddlers as the sample. Data were analyzed using a paired t-test. Results: The results showed a significant improvement in knowledge between the pre-test and post-test (p < 0.05). However, the attitude assessment results indicated a p-value of 0.087, suggesting that the attitude improvement from the pre-test to the post-test was not statistically significant (p > 0.05). Conclusion: This study concludes that integrated education involving lectures, case scenarios, and peer group methods is efficacious in improving health cadres' knowledge about stunting prevention. However, it has not yet proven effective in enhancing cadres' attitudes. Therefore, additional strategies are needed to improve the attitudes of health cadres. The implementation of similar educational methods in other communities is expected to contribute to a sustainable reduction in stunting prevalence.
