Abstract

Critical thinking is essential in education as it enhances students' cognitive abilities during learning activities. However, critical thinking has not yet become a prevalent habit among students, resulting in some students being passive in the learning process, hesitant to express opinions, or ask questions. The social inquiry learning model in Islamic Education subjects is an approach that adapts to students' experiences, enabling them to find answers independently. Consequently, the social inquiry learning model can foster critical thinking in students. The purpose of this research is to describe the impact of the social inquiry learning model in Islamic Education subjects on the development of students' critical thinking skills. This will help determine the extent of the relationship between the application of the social inquiry learning model in Islamic Education subjects (Variable X) and the development of students' critical thinking skills (Variable Y). The method used in this research is the inferential quantitative method, which involves collecting data or information about the phenomenon being studied. Data collection techniques include questionnaires distributed to 25 respondents, observations, and documentation studies. Data processing was conducted through statistical data analysis. The research results show that the social inquiry learning model in Islamic Education subjects achieved a score of 4.056, placing it within the 3.01-4.00 interval range, classified as good. Meanwhile, the development of students' critical thinking skills had an average score of 3.976, also within the 3.01-4.00 interval range, classified as good. Based on statistical tests, there is an influence of the social inquiry learning model in Islamic Education subjects at 38.59%, while other factors influencing students' critical thinking skills account for 61.41% but were not examined in this study. Abstract

Self-awareness is crucial in the learning process; however, it often presents challenges. This issue is evident as students frequently lack the ability to recognize their own feelings and behaviors, identify their strengths and weaknesses, demonstrate independence, make appropriate decisions, and effectively express their thoughts, feelings, opinions, and beliefs. Consequently, these students often lack the motivation to engage in more effective learning processes. The Awareness Training Learning Model is proposed as an effective solution to these problems. The purpose of this study is to describe the impact of applying the Awareness Training Learning Model in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) on students' self-awareness at SMK Ciledug Al-Musaddadiyah Garut. This research employs a quantitative descriptive approach. Data collection methods included observation, documentation review, and questionnaires distributed to 27 students who served as the study sample. Data analysis was performed using statistical analysis techniques. The results show that the students' self-awareness had an average score of 4.07, placing it within the interval range of 4.01-5.00, which falls under the "Very Good" category. This indicates a significant improvement in self-awareness after the teachers implemented this model in the learning activities. Similarly, the application of the Awareness Training Learning Model in the PAI subject had an average score of 4.11, also in the "Very Good" category. This demonstrates that this model effectively enhances students' self-awareness in learning. Statistical tests indicate that the application of the Awareness Training Learning Model in PAI has a significant influence, accounting for 79.22% of the improvement in students' self-awareness, while other variables not investigated account for the remaining 20.78%. Abstract

Melihat kenyataan saat ini di lingkungan sekolah bahwa interaksi murid terhadap guru banyak terjadi hal yang dianggap kurang harmonis, yaitu murid kurang menghormati guru, murid tidak menghargai gurunya, murid menyepelekan ilmu dari gurunya. Dalam mendidik anak tentunya butuh formula yang tepat. Karena hal tersebutlah peneliti tertarik untuk meneliti kitab Al-Akhlak Lil-Banin Jilid I yang pernah peneliti dapatkan pelajarannya di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. Meskipun menggunakan bahasa Arab, kitab Al-Akhlak Lil-Banin jilid I bahasanya ringan dan sederhana sehingga mudah dipahami. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah terdeskripsinya nilai-nilai pendidikan dalam kitab Al-Akhlak Lil Banin tentang interaksi murid terhadap guru tersebut, yang kemudian nilai-nilai pendidikan tersebut disajikan dengan sudut pandang kajian ilmu pendidikan Islam. Metode yang digunakan bersifat deskriptif kualitatif yaitu penelitian yang hanya menggambarkan, memaparkan dan melaporkan suatu keadaan dari objek penelitian. Penelitian jenis ini hanya ditujukan untuk melukiskan, menggambarkan dan melaporkan kenyataan-kenyataan yang terfokus pada nilai-nilai pendidikan dalam kitab Al-Akhlak Lil-Banin tentang interaksi murid terhadap guru yang ditinjau dari ilmu pendidikan Islam Dari hasil penelitian yang diperoleh, peneliti menemukan dan memfokuskan terhadap empat nilai-nilai pendidikan dalam kitab Al-Akhlak Lil-Banin tentang interaksi murid terhadap guru, yaitu nilai taat, disiplin, toleransi, mandiri. Nilai pendidikan tersebut bila dihubungkan dengan ilmu pendidikan Islam memiliki tujuan menumbuhkan kesadaran murid, agar mereka tumbuh dan berkembang menjadi manusia yang taat, disiplin, toleran, mandiri dalam kehidupan.

Abstract

Maintaining environmental sustainability in schools is essential for students, yet it often presents challenges. This is evident in their daily behaviors, which frequently lack consistency in maintaining the cleanliness of the school environment. Consequently, it is crucial to reinforce the understanding of the Qur’an Hadith curriculum content for Grade XII, particularly concerning environmental preservation, to positively influence their everyday practices in upholding school cleanliness. The aim of this research is to describe the implications of the Qur’an Hadith curriculum content for Grade XII on environmental sustainability and its impact on students' behavior in maintaining cleanliness at Madrasah Aliyah Fauzaniyyah Sukaresmi Garut. The research methodology used is descriptive, with data collection techniques including observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. Data analysis was conducted through content analysis involving steps of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research findings indicate a positive impact of the Grade XII Qur’an Hadith curriculum content on environmental sustainability on student behaviors in maintaining school cleanliness. This is evidenced by their increased awareness in disposing of waste properly, disciplined adherence to assigned cleaning schedules, and active campaigning for environmental awareness through various information media such as posters, stickers, and social media. Abstract

This research is based on the observed low motivation of students in learning the Alquran Hadits subject at Madrasah Ibtidaiyyah (MI) Ar-Roja Karangpawitan, Garut. This lack of motivation is evidenced by students' reluctance to ask questions and express their opinions during lessons. The practice of Tadarrus Alquran offers a potential solution by fostering a closer connection to the Quran through activities such as reading and listening to its recitations. This closer relationship with the Quran can enhance students' motivation to study it, including in the Alquran Hadits subject. The purpose of this study is to describe the impact of Tadarrus Alquran on students' motivation to learn the Alquran Hadits subject at MI Ar-Roja Karangpawitan Garut. The research employs a descriptive quantitative method. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, document studies, and questionnaires distributed to 25 respondents. Data processing was conducted through statistical analysis. The results indicate that the motivation of students in the Alquran Hadits subject has an average score of 3.976, which falls within the interval of 3.00 - 4.00, categorizing it as "good." This suggests an increase in students' motivation after implementing Tadarrus Alquran in the Alquran Hadits lessons. Meanwhile, the practice of Tadarrus Alquran itself has an average score of 4.056, placing it within the interval of 4.01 – 5.00, which is considered "very good." This indicates that Tadarrus Alquran is an effective solution to enhance students' motivation in learning. Statistical analysis shows that Tadarrus Alquran influences 38.59% of the students' motivation in the Alquran Hadits subject, while 61.41% of the motivation is affected by other variables not examined in this study. Abstract

This study is motivated by the observed low learning motivation among students, which is evident from their inadequate understanding of Fiqh subjects. The Discovery Learning model is proposed as a potential solution to this issue, as it allows students to explore new concepts and discover answers to the problems they encounter. This approach fosters intrinsic motivation to learn by encouraging students to independently construct their understanding. The purpose of this research is to describe the implementation of the Discovery Learning model and its impact on the learning motivation of seventh-grade students in Fiqh classes at MTs Al-Misbah Sucinaraja, Garut Regency. This field research employs a qualitative descriptive method. The primary data sources include factual information obtained from Fiqh teachers, seventh-grade students, school management, and other relevant informants. Secondary data sources consist of books, journals, school documents, and other written materials. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and document analysis. The data analysis technique employed is content analysis, involving data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings of this study indicate that the implementation of the Discovery Learning model has successfully enhanced the learning motivation of seventh-grade students in Fiqh subjects at MTs Al-Misbah Sucinaraja. This success is reflected in the improved cognitive performance seen in end-of-semester assessments, as well as in the affective and psychomotor evaluations demonstrated by students' attitudes, active participation in learning activities, and engagement in extracurricular activities. Notably, many students from MTs Al-Misbah Sucinaraja have participated in religious competitions, highlighting the broader impact of increased motivation facilitated by the Discovery Learning model. In conclusion, the implementation of the Discovery Learning model effectively boosts students' motivation to learn. Keywords: Discovery Learning Model, Student Learning Motivation, Fiqh Subject

Abstract

The current state of national character in Indonesia is deeply concerning. Society, including students, is increasingly influenced by teachings that contradict the values of Pancasila, leading to a decline in nationalism. Key issues among students include indifference towards their peers' difficulties, lack of discipline in studying, and a preference for foreign cultures over their own. The personal competence of teachers is crucial in addressing these issues. Teachers who exemplify positive attitudes related to nationalism can effectively foster a sense of nationalism in their students. This is because teachers not only impart knowledge but also serve as role models through their attitudes, words, and actions. The purpose of this study is to describe the profile of teacher personal competence and its implications for the development of nationalism values among students in the SKI (Islamic Cultural History) subject at MTs. Al-Mustofaiyah Sukaresmi Garut. This research employs a descriptive method, utilizing data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and document studies. The data analysis technique used is content analysis, with data validation performed through triangulation. The results indicate that teachers' role modeling in the educational process effectively fosters nationalism values in students, such as mutual assistance, discipline, patriotism, bravery, and honesty. Abstract

This study is motivated by the observation that some teachers face challenges in their professional competencies, particularly in their proficiency with technology as a teaching medium. As a result, there is a need to enhance these teachers' capabilities through the use of Google Meet as a solution to improve their ability to meet professional teaching standards. The objectives of this research are: (1) To assess the professional competence of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers at SMPN 2 Garut. (2) To examine the use of Google Meet as a digital learning medium at SMPN 2 Garut. (3) To evaluate the implications of using Google Meet on the professional competence of teachers at SMPN 2 Garut. This study employs a field-based qualitative research method. The primary data sources include interviews with PAI teachers at SMPN 2 Garut, while secondary data sources comprise books and other literature relevant to this research. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique follows the Miles and Huberman model, which involves data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings of this research indicate that the use of Google Meet as a digital learning medium positively impacts teachers' professional competencies. A teacher's ability to effectively utilize technology contributes to their qualification as a professional educator. These are the key findings derived from this study. Abstract

In the book "Ta’liim al-Muta’allim," teachers are regarded as the most crucial element in the learning process, thus deserving profound respect and adherence. However, excessive reverence can stifle students' critical thinking, fostering intellectual stagnation and a culture of blind conformity (taqlid). Consequently, the interaction between teachers and students becomes imbalanced and skewed. Norman Fairclough's Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) provides a conceptual framework to address these issues by dissecting the ideological and hegemonic power relations that influence students' cognitive and behavioral responses. The objective of this study is to explore the application of Norman Fairclough's Critical Discourse Analysis to the book "Ta’liim al-Muta’allim" concerning teacher-student interaction. This research is a library study employing a descriptive-analytical method. Data collection was conducted through a literature review, and data analysis was performed using Fairclough's Critical Discourse Analysis on the primary source, "Ta’liim al-Muta’allim," and secondary sources including books, journals, and other written materials aligned with the research objectives. The findings reveal that the concept of teacher-student interaction in "Ta’liim al-Muta’allim" is doctrinaire, non-democratic, and non-dialogical. This is elucidated through Fairclough's Critical Discourse Analysis as follows: There is a social disharmony in its semiotic aspect, positioning the teacher excessively above the student. Overcoming this disharmony is hindered because the Kitab Kuning (traditional Islamic text) is often regarded as a finished and ready-to-use product, and its authors are seen as revered figures who must always be esteemed. The existing social order perpetuates this disharmony, benefiting the teacher in terms of social and cultural hierarchy. The way to address this disharmony is by replacing outdated values that are no longer relevant with new values that are considered more appropriate and beneficial. Abstract

The moral crisis among students, exemplified by drug abuse, bullying, plagiarism, and sexual violence, necessitates ongoing research by Islamic education scholars into religious texts written by prominent scholars. These studies aim to reinforce the conceptual foundations that can be proposed as solutions to these moral issues. The book "Ta’liim Al-Muta’allim" is a key reference rich in religious values that offers a conceptual alternative for addressing contemporary moral problems. The objective of this research is to describe the religious character values found in "Ta’liim Al-Muta’allim" and their implications for character education. This research falls under the category of library research with a descriptive-analytical method. Data collection involved library research followed by content analysis of the readings. The primary data source was the text of "Ta’liim Al-Muta’allim," supplemented by books, journals, and other written sources relevant to the research goals. The findings indicate that "Ta’liim Al-Muta’allim" contains significant religious character values derived from five main themes: the intention in learning, choosing teachers and friends, revering knowledge and scholars, reliance on Allah (tawakkul), and maintaining piety (wara’) during learning. These religious character values promote compassion, tolerance, and the upholding of religious trust among students. These attitudes are crucial in addressing the character issues faced by students today. Keywords: Religious Character, Character Education, Islamic Educational Philosophy
