Abstract

Bangka Island is famous as the largest tin producer in Indonesia. It has a distinctive history, culture, and religious diversity while upholding tolerance. However, the existence of tin on Bangka Island is not so felt as a symbol or characteristic in Pangkalpinang City as the Capital of the Province of Bangka Belitung Islands. Establishing the Great Mosque of the Tin Dome is currently the city branding of Pangkalpinang City. This study examines how the combination of resources, history, culture, and customs can become city branding. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method. Where the concentration of theoretical focus used is the development of a three-dimensional theoretical model that examines important elements in determining the elements, measurements, and equity of city branding. The data sources are obtained from interviews, secondary data, and also photographs of documentation. The results of the study show that the Great Mosque of the Tin Dome has met the requirements of city branding, namely 1) city brand elementshave met the history, process, graphics, and symbols; 2) city brand measurement is a process that starts from discussion, planning, narrative analysis, and visuals in its construction; and 3) city brand impact is very much felt by the identity, social and economic impact of the mosque's presence.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of tacit knowledge loss due to employee turnover on operational efficiency, innovation capability, and customer satisfaction by examining the mediating role of tacit knowledge loss and the mitigating effect of knowledge transfer effectiveness. Using an explanatory quantitative approach, we collected data through closed-ended questionnaires and secondary data from 200 respondents in the manufacturing, service, and MSME sectors in Bangka Belitung. The Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis results revealed that employee turnover significantly increases tacit knowledge loss, which is detrimental to operational efficiency, innovation, and customer satisfaction. This study also highlights that effective knowledge transfer, especially through structured mentoring programs, reduces the impact of tacit knowledge loss. These findings strengthen the resource-based view and knowledge management theory. In addition, our study shows that integrating CRM technology reduces the impact of tacit knowledge loss on customer satisfaction—a previously unexplored factor. Practical implications include recommendations for HR policies that focus on knowledge retention, collaborative training, and technology adaptation for organizations in the digital era. These findings emphasize the importance of a holistic approach that combines social interactions, knowledge management systems, and local cultural contexts to minimize the risk of brain drain.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of digital leadership, work-life balance, employee engagement, and organizational learning on employee performance, with job satisfaction as a moderating variable. Using SEM-PLS analysis on data from 250 employees in Indonesia's technology and service sectors, the findings reveal significant positive effects of digital leadership, employee engagement, organizational learning, work-life balance, and job satisfaction on performance. Job satisfaction positively moderates the relationship between digital leadership, work-life balance, and employee engagement with performance. However, a counterintuitive finding emerges in the interaction between job satisfaction and organizational learning, which weakens performance. This suggests that while job satisfaction amplifies the benefits of adaptive leadership and work-life harmony, it may reduce the efficacy of organizational learning initiatives, potentially due to misalignment with individual needs or contextual factors. The study underscores the necessity for organizations to cultivate technology-adaptive environments, prioritize employee engagement, and design balanced policies that integrate digital leadership with holistic well-being. Policymakers are advised to advocate for labor regulations that strengthen digital leadership capabilities and institutionalize work-life balance frameworks. For future research, longitudinal approaches and contextual variables—such as organizational culture or workload pressures—are recommended to deepen understanding of these dynamics. These insights contribute to human resource management strategies in the digital era, including nuanced approaches to sustaining performance while addressing employee satisfaction

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of service quality, interpersonal communication of medical personnel, and facility availability on patient satisfaction at Pangkalpinang City General Hospital (RSUD Kota Pangkalpinang), as well as to examine the mediating role of patients' economic perception. A quantitative approach was employed through a survey method involving 218 outpatient and inpatient respondents. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on Partial Least Squares (PLS) with the SmartPLS 4 application. The results indicate that service quality, interpersonal communication, and facility availability have a positive and significant effect on patient satisfaction. Furthermore, patients’ economic perception significantly mediates the relationship between service quality and interpersonal communication with patient satisfaction, but does not significantly mediate the relationship between facility availability and patient satisfaction. These findings underscore the importance of improving service quality and interpersonal communication, as well as strengthening patients’ economic perception to optimize patient satisfaction in hospitals. This research provides practical implications for hospital management in designing more holistic and patient-oriented service quality improvement strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the effect of exercise, competition, and motivation on work engagement and employee performance, with work engagement as a mediating variable in employees of the Pangkal Pinang City Health Office. The research method used is quantitative with the Structural Equation Modelling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) approach, involving 112 purposively selected respondents. The analysis results show that specifically, competition is the factor that has the most significant effect on work engagement and employee performance, followed by motivation with a moderate effect, while exercise shows the least effect. Work engagement was shown to partially mediate the relationship between motivation and competition on employee performance. These findings confirm the importance of human resource development strategies that not only focus on training but also on creating a healthy competitive environment, increasing motivation, and strengthening work engagement to encourage optimal employee performance. This study recommends the need to develop an integrated organisational programme to improve employee engagement and performance, as well as further research by expanding the variables and methods used.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the influence of Work-Life Balance (WLB), organisational culture, and work motivation on employee performance with job satisfaction as an intervening variable. The study was conducted on millennial employees in the local government of Pangkalpinang City, involving 104 respondents selected through a purposive sampling technique based on the criteria of having a minimum work period of one year, having permanent employee status, and being active in organisational activities. Using a quantitative approach with structural equation model analysis, the results showed that work motivation has a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction, while WLB and organisational culture have a positive but insignificant effect. This finding indicates that intrinsic factors, such as work motivation, play a more dominant role in shaping employee job satisfaction than external factors such as WLB and organisational culture. However, these three variables did not show a significant indirect effect on performance through job satisfaction. The practical implications of this study emphasise the importance of increasing work motivation through the development of reward and career systems, as well as the need to strengthen organisational culture and implement more effective WLB policies to create job satisfaction, which in turn can improve employee performance.
