Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of politics and social media from the perspective of sports sociology in society. In the modern era, sports are not only understood as physical activities and entertainment but also as social phenomena closely related to power, media, culture, and the development of digital technology. This research used a qualitative method with a literature study approach by collecting data from national journals, books, and various relevant scientific literatures. The data analysis technique was carried out using descriptive qualitative analysis and content analysis to understand the relationship between sports, politics, and social media in community life. The results showed that politics has a significant influence on the world of sports, especially in image building, nationalism, and power interests. Meanwhile, social media plays an important role in disseminating sports information, shaping public opinion, and increasing public participation in sports activities. In addition to providing positive impacts such as increasing interest in sports and forming social communities, social media also creates negative impacts in the form of excessive fanaticism, the spread of hoaxes, and social conflicts among sports supporters. Therefore, society needs to have awareness in using social media wisely so that sports can remain a positive medium in social life.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the loyalty of football supporters in Indonesia from the perspective of sports sociology. The research method used is a literature study with a descriptive qualitative approach by collecting data from various national journals published within the last 10 years. The results show that the loyalty of football supporters in Indonesia is formed through social solidarity, group identity, sense of belonging to the club, as well as the influence of culture and social media. This loyalty is reflected through consistent support for the club, both directly in the stadium and through communities and digital media. Besides providing positive impacts such as the formation of social solidarity and social community activities, supporter loyalty can also create negative impacts in the form of excessive fanaticism and conflicts between supporters. From the perspective of sports sociology, the phenomenon of supporter loyalty shows that football has become an important part of Indonesian social life. Therefore, it is necessary to instill the values of sportsmanship, tolerance, and social control so that supporter loyalty can provide positive contributions to the development of national football.

Abstract

This study discusses the role of social media in the development of modern sports culture from the perspective of sports sociology. The development of digital technology has made social media one of the important factors influencing people's interaction patterns with sports. Social media functions not only as a means of communication and entertainment, but also as a social space in shaping lifestyles, group identities, and modern sports culture. This research uses a literature study method with a qualitative approach sourced from national journals and various scientific references published within the last ten years. The results show that social media has a major role in increasing the popularity of sports, building digital sports communities, strengthening relationships between athletes and fans, and increasing public awareness of the importance of healthy living. However, social media also creates negative impacts such as excessive fanaticism, digital conflicts among supporters, and image-building culture in sports. Therefore, the use of social media needs to be directed positively in order to support the development of a healthy, educational, and socially constructive sports culture in the modern era.

Abstract

Youth participation in sports is an important aspect in supporting the physical, mental, and social development of young generations. From the perspective of sports sociology, sports participation is influenced not only by individual factors but also by social environments such as family, school, peers, and society. This study aims to examine the influence of the social environment on youth sports participation through a literature review method. The research method used in this study is a literature review by analyzing various national and international journals, books, and scientific articles relevant to the research topic. The results of the study indicate that the social environment has a significant influence on adolescents’ interest, motivation, and involvement in sports activities. Family support, active school environments, and positive peer influence can increase youth participation in sports. On the other hand, limited sports facilities, low social support, and excessive use of technology can reduce adolescents’ sports activities. Therefore, collaboration among families, schools, communities, and governments is needed to create a supportive social environment for youth sports participation in order to develop healthy, active, and socially responsible young generations.
