Abstract

This article explains how the African continent, which has various natural and economic potentials but is underdeveloped, has become a region of great powers to expand its influence. This research was conducted by applying qualitative research methods with exploratory analytic designs using enhanced balancing behavior theory and the concept of national interest. It can be said, Russia has the desire to return to being a great power like the former Soviet Union, which is explicitly recognized by the international community. For this reason, Russia is present in a different way, to offset the influence of other major powers and reduce the influence of Western systems such as democracy and liberal values to develop in Africa. The approach made Africa tends to silent or not taking side to support or even gave comment about it. Therefore, it can be said that this effort was not in vain, amid of its isolation because of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, now Africa is one of its closest partners, which becomes a theater to achieve its national interests. Abstract

Sri Lanka shocked the world with a downfall due to an economic crisis. Among the states that had to mitigate the pandemic, Sri Lanka appears to struggle with the situation and as a result of this event, Sri Lanka is in a position of overdue debt with a total of 51 billion USD worth of debt. The inflation was created by economic shortage activity with imbalanced trade records leads to the overthrown of Sri Lanka’s president and as the result produced a vacuum of power. This paper will use of dependency theory to describe the cause of Sri Lanka’s collapse by examining several factors such as civil war, pandemic, oil price rise, and recent terrorist attack.

Abstract

Tourism is an important sector for a region, in this case tourism will have a positive impact on economic growth, especially for those who are directly related to tourism activities such as restaurants and lodging providers. Cimahi is one of the areas that has great potential in the tourism sector through its characteristics and resources, this characteristic is that Cimahi is known as the Military City (Green City) because there is a fairly complete history, buildings, and military facilities. This study uses a descriptive analysis type approach, the data used comes from collection techniques in the form of interviews, observations, and documentation. The Cimahi City Government has several strategies to utilize Cimahi City's resources in order to advance the tourism sector, some of these efforts are by starting to form cooperation in the sister city concept, launching the Cimahi Military Heritage Tourism program with Lifeboats (Cimahi City All-in-One) as the main transportation , the Cimahi City Tour program, as well as coordinating with the managers of tourist areas. In conclusion, these programs must be implemented properly through coordination with various parties, for example with relevant ministries and agencies as well as non-governmental organizations.
