Abstract

The problem with partners in the Sahid University campus environment is that lecturers and students often need help using quantitative applications. Therefore, training in understanding quantitative applications such as SMART-PLS is deemed necessary through community service (PkM). This activity aims to increase personal understanding of quantitative applications to support the preparation of scientific work for lecturers and students. The PkM implementation method includes training on the importance of perception and understanding the concepts and stages of data processing using this application. Training on understanding the latest SmartPLS quantitative application version 4.0 is delivered with an example of a simple conceptual framework. PkM implementation activities in August 2023. The results of the PkM implementation have provided excellent benefits, which are indicated by changes in developments in each ICT, which are satisfactory in understanding quantitative applications to support the preparation of scientific work. Overall, the success and benefits of training activities in the form of community service depend heavily on a good combination of technical and supporting factors, such as a commitment to ensure effective learning and application of the skills learned.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to measure the level of community participation, analyze communication patterns, and formulate communication strategies and communication innovation patterns to increase community participation in tourism activities. Research methods: The level of community participation was measured by structured interviews and questionnaire instruments and analyzed using the IBM SPSS Statistics 26 with Arnstein's participation typology. Communication patterns and communication strategies to increase participation were obtained through focus group discussions (FGD) with Penyengat Island tourism stakeholders and in-depth interviews with respondents and key informants. Results and discussion: The results of this study indicate that community participation in tourism activities is found in participation in Pokdarwis activities, training and capacity building for business actors, as well as monitoring and evaluation of tourism activities. The typology of participation is in the manipulative category, with a lack of community participation in planning activities and tending to only be executors of government programs. Implication: The communication pattern applied is only limited to linear communication with no reciprocity from the communicator to the communicant, so a participatory communication strategy is needed that allows circular communication to increase community participation in tourism activities.   Keywords: Development Communication, Linear Communication, Tourism, Participation

Abstract

The Situ Gunung Nature Tourism Park (TWA) is a conservation area that was developed by prioritizing the concept of ecotourism. However, the ecotourism program created could have been more optimal, considering the requests and desires of visitors. This research aims to determine the factors that underlie decision-making for ecotourism visits at TWA Situ Gunung, West Java. The variables explained include the concept of ecotourism, intention to revisit, perception of cleanliness, and ticket price differentiation. The method used in this research is SmartPLS to test the proposed hypothesis. The analysis results show that ticket prices negatively influence ecotourism visits, with a coefficient of -0.058 (H1). On the other hand, cleanliness has a positive effect with a coefficient of 0.224 (H2), and security has a positive impact of 0.180 (H3). The accessibility factor is proven to have the most significant influence on ecotourism visits, with a coefficient of 0.464 (H4). The results of this research indicate that to increase ecotourism visits, managers need to focus on improving accessibility and cleanliness, as well as reconsidering ticket pricing strategies. Thus, this research contributes to the development of ecotourism that is more responsive to visitor needs and preferences, increasing visits and supporting conservation desires at Situ Gunung TWA.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the preferences of homemakers when choosing the type of melon gas cylinder using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. The problem addressed is determining the factors that most influence homemakers' decisions in choosing between subsidized and non-subsidized gas. This research employs a quantitative method with AHP to analyze homemakers' preferences when selecting melon gas cylinders. AHP breaks down complex problems into a simple hierarchical structure, facilitating priority determination. The study involves homemakers chosen through purposive sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires covering relevant criteria and sub-criteria, using a Likert scale to measure the importance of each criterion. The research results based on dynamic sensitivity analysis show that price is the most important factor, followed by ease of use. This study provides a clear picture of the relative weights of various criteria and alternatives when choosing melon gas cylinders. The study's conclusion indicates that homemakers prefer subsidized gas over non-subsidized gas.

Abstract

PT Infia Media Pratama is a company based in the creative content industry, primarily social media content, which is currently experiencing a quite serious turnover rate, reaching an average of 19% in the last three years. Even though the normal turnover rate is 5%, to overcome this turnover problem, an analysis of the various variables that influence employee turnover intention is needed. This research aims to try to observe the relationship between the variables' employee engagement, quality of work life, organizational commitment, and employee turnover intention. The research was conducted through a survey using a census sampling method. Primary data analysis tests use multiple linear regression, and hypothesis testing uses t-test and F-test. The research results show that increasing employee engagement and organizational commitment have a positive influence on increasing employee turnover intention. The quality of work-life variable has a negative relationship with employee turnover intention, even though the effect is only 4%. Thus, companies need to improve the quality of work life in an effort to reduce employee turnover intention.
