The research was conducted using an explanatory quantitative approach, with a survey method through a questionnaire. The population consisted of 103 employees, using the census method. The data obtained was analyzed by multiple linear regression and classical statistical tests to verify the relationship between variables. The results showed that: (1) work motivation has a positive and significant effect on employee productivity, (2) work experience also has a positive and significant effect on employee productivity, (3) simultaneously, the two variables have a significant influence on employee productivity, with a contribution of 51.4%. Internal motivation factors, such as management communication, and external, such as community recognition, are the main drivers. Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on the tourism and hospitality sectors, prompting the need for standardized health and safety protocols to restore public trust. In response, the Indonesian government introduced the SNI CHSE (Cleanliness, Health, Safety, and Environment) certification, which was initially provided free of charge during the pandemic. However, in the post-pandemic period, the certification transitioned into a paid program, creating new challenges for adoption among hotel business operators. This study aims to analyze the influence of certification product, certification cost, and promotion on hotel operators’ decisions to pursue SNI CHSE certification. Employing a quantitative approach through a survey method, data were collected from 100 hotel business actors affiliated with the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association and analyzed using SEM-PLS. The findings reveal that all three factors product, cost, and promotion significantly influence the decision to undertake certification. These results provide strategic implications for policymakers and tourism industry stakeholders in strengthening sustainable tourism recovery through broader CHSE certification implementation, as well as practical implications for designing more effective certification schemes, pricing strategies, and targeted promotional efforts.

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze the extent of the readiness of Morotai Island's cultural tourism destinations, especially at the Museum Trikora and Army Dock Beach tourist attractions, in applying the principles of sustainable tourism. These two objects were chosen because the management and facilities at the location have not been optimally developed, despite having high historical value. Research Methods: This research uses a qualitative descriptive method, where data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. Result and discussion: The findings show that both Museum Trikora and Army Dock Beach are not fully prepared to implement sustainable tourism principles. Museum Trikora has damaged facilities and restricted activities, while Army Dock Beach lacks official management and adequate facilities. Community involvement and coordination among agencies are limited. Implication: From the results of observations in the field and by approaching five main aspects, namely management, infrastructure and facilities, community involvement, environmental and cultural preservation, as well as promotion and accessibility, it was found that the level of understanding and involvement of the community and managers towards the principles of sustainable tourism is still relatively low. This research concludes that improving management, active community involvement, and strengthening supporting facilities are important steps to realize a more sustainable cultural tourism destination.
