Abstract

The use of virtual media in learning is one of the innovations in the use of technology in learning. This research uses content analysis of articles in vocational education journals that discuss the use of virtual media in learning. The results of this study show that the number of publications on the use of virtual media in vocational education was highest in 2019 during the pandemic. The most used research type is R&D where the field of mechanical engineering is the target of the most frequent use of virtual media. The platform most often used in the use of virtual media is PC/Laptop. The overall research shows that the use of virtual media in vocational education in Indonesia shows a positive impact. This study also provides recommendations in the form of integrating virtual media into the vocational education curriculum for a better learning experience.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effectiveness of applying the mnemonic method which is linked to long-term memory in the material on limits of trigonometric functions in basic calculus courses in the Palangka Raya University mechanical engineering education study program. The research is action research based on the Kurt Lewin model which consists of several stages including: planning, action, observation and reflection. The research subjects were 44 students taking basic calculus courses. The results of the research show that the mnemonic method is effective for improving long-term memory in Trigonometry function limits material in basic calculus courses in the Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program, Palangka Raya University. This can be seen in the average test result after being given lectures using the mnemonic method, which is 70.5 with classical completeness achieved being 88.6%. Thus, the expected classical completeness of 75% was achieved. Student responses to the use of mnemonic methods in lectures. As many as 95% of students agreed that lectures were fun. The majority of students are actively involved in lectures using this mnemonic method, where as many as 90.9% agree and it is easier for students to remember mathematical formulas in the material on limits of trigonometric functions with this mnemonic method, where as many as 97% agree. The majority of students agree that the mnemonic method needs to be used again in the next lecture material which contains many mathematical formulas, with 90.4% agreeing.

Abstract

Bullying that occurs in Indonesia is often found in school environments, both formal and non-formal. Bullying cases often occur around 61-73% in the form of violence, blackmail, threats and taking things, the rest are cases of bullying in other forms such as cyberbullying. With support from the Government, there is no need to hesitate to pay attention to and even respond to bullying behavior. Therefore, students from the Regular Real Work Lecture (KKN) Period II at Palangka Raya University were given the opportunity to provide counseling or outreach related to efforts to prevent bullying behavior among students in Netampin Village, Dusun Tengah District, East Barito Regency. Preventing bullying can be done by empowering children to be able to detect, fight back and provide support when bullying occurs. Schools can also take preventive steps, such as building effective communication between teachers and students, holding discussions and lectures about bullying behavior, creating a safe school environment, and providing support for victims of bullying

Abstract

Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises have a very important role in the national economy. One of the drivers of MSMEs is women who contribute 64% of Indonesian MSMEs. Finance has a very important role in starting a business. Based on the information we got, it can be concluded that Dharma Wanita mothers are still confused about how to start a business from their husband's limited income, therefore we help Dharma Wanita mothers how to manage their income so that they can set aside part of their income which will be used as capital in starting a business. The method of implementing this service is carried out by means of presentations and interactive discussions. The result of this service was that the women of the Dharma Wanita Association of the National Park Hall were very enthusiastic about the event. This could be seen from the many questions asked related to family financial management

Abstract

Recent research highlights the increasingly important role of chatbots in educational transformation. Through literature reviews and empirical studies, researchers have revealed that the use of chatbots in the educational context provides significant benefits for both teachers and students. From the perspective of educators, chatbots can enhance learning efficiency, facilitate interactions with students, and boost creativity in the teaching process. Meanwhile, students also experience increased accessibility to learning materials, efficiency in completing tasks, and improved interaction with learning materials. However, challenges such as the required preparation and training, as well as the need for verification of information provided by chatbots, remain a primary concern. Recommendations include enhancing preparation and training, developing more advanced chatbot technology, improving information verification, and fostering collaboration between research and educational practitioners to address challenges and maximize the potential of chatbots in future education.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a best practice-based Occupational Safety and Health teaching module and evaluate its feasibility for vocational students in Light Vehicle Engineering. This research employed the Research and Development method with an ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The subjects included a material expert (vocational teacher), a media expert (instructional media lecturer), and 35 students. Data were collected using expert validation questionnaires and student response surveys with a Likert scale, then analyzed using quantitative descriptive statistics. The results indicated high feasibility in content, with the material expert validation reaching 82.67% (Very Feasible) and student responses scoring 84.57% (Very Feasible). The findings highlight that the module's content is highly relevant and contextually beneficial for students. However, the media expert validation only scored 65.33% (Feasible), indicating significant weaknesses in visual design, graphics quality, and layout. This study concludes that for vocational students, the relevance and practical utility of content are more dominant factors in the acceptance of a teaching module than its aesthetic appeal. Nevertheless, improvements in media design are necessary to achieve optimal learning effectiveness.

Abstract

The Teaching and Education Faculty (FKIP), especially the Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program at Palangka Raya University, seminar courses are compulsory subjects in Semester Seven. The factors that influence the learning difficulties experienced by Mechanical Engineering Education students can be classified into two, namely internal factors and external factors. The purpose of this study was to analyze what factors cause student learning difficulties in completing the Role Playing project in the Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program seminar course. The research used in this research is mix methods research. This research was conducted at the Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program, University of Palangka Raya, which is located at Jl. Yos Sudarso, Palangka, District. Jekan Raya, Palangka Raya City, Central Kalimantan. In this study, the subjects were Mechanical Engineering Education students who experienced difficulties in learning seminars in the odd semester of the 2021/2022 academic year. The research subjects have been selected as many as 31 students. This study uses a questionnaire instrument as a tool to collect data in the form of numbers. The research results show that the factors causing student learning difficulties in completing the Role Playing project in the Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program seminar course are viewed from: 1) Internal factors, namely the health indicator is 77%, the interest indicator is 87%, the talent indicator is 74%, the motivation indicator is 55%, indicators of cognitive abilities that are equal to 55%, indicators of study habits that are equal to 74%, indicators of understanding of learning objectives that are equal to 61%; 2) External factors, namely the lecturer's ability indicator, which is 77%, the lecturer's teaching method indicator, which is 77%, the study program's social environment indicator, which is 71%, the learning building condition indicator, which is 84%, the parental support indicator, which is 77%, An indicator of the student's economic condition is 71%.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the Link and Match learning program in Light Vehicle Engineering at SMK Karsa Mulya Palangka Raya. The evaluation covers input and process aspects conducted by the school and the business/industry partner, namely PT. Murni Berlian Motor Palangka Raya (Mitsubishi Motors). Respondents included 30 students, 3 teachers/school administrators, and 3 representatives from the business/industry partner. Data were collected through surveys, interviews, and documentation, followed by descriptive analysis. The results show, first, that the implementation of the Link and Match program is considered good based on teacher readiness, teacher competence, student preparedness, facilities, and cooperation. The input evaluation falls into the good category, with an average score of 18.00. Second, the process of implementing this program in the business/industry sector is deemed good based on the facilities and infrastructure of the industry class, the role of teachers, the role of students, and work practices at the business/industry site, with an average score of 17.07 by students and 19.00 by teachers. To support and improve the quality of the Link and Match program, it is recommended to provide varied provision to enhance students' understanding of the material and to conduct in-depth evaluations of students' comprehension of vocational competences.

Abstract

AbstrakKemampuan untuk memanfaatkan teknologi digital menjadi sangat penting di era globalisasi dan kemajuan teknologi informasi saat ini, tidak hanya untuk individu tetapi juga untuk keberlangsungan berbagai sektor usaha dan industri. Menyadari pentingnya keterampilan digital, terutama di kalangan generasi muda, sekolah dipandang perlu mengintegrasikan pendidikan kewirausahaan dengan teknologi digital dalam kurikulum dan kegiatan ekstrakurikuler. Mitra dalam kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah SMA Kristen Palangka Raya. Terdapat beberapa permasalahan prioritas antara lain: kurangnya variasi kegiatan kewirausahaan yang dapat mengakomodir minat, bakat dan karakteristik siswa; kurangnya pengetahuan tentang pemanfaatan platform digital Canva untuk tujuan bisnis; kurangnya keterampilan tentang manajemen produksi suatu produk kewirausahaan berbasis digital. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan memberikan edukasi, berbagi pengetahuan kepada siswa dan guru tentang esensi kewirausahaan, pemanfaatan platform digital Canva untuk tujuan bisnis dan manajamen dasar kewirausahaan berbasis digital. Kegiatan ini melibatkan 23 orang siswa dan 4 orang guru sebagai peserta. Metode pelaksanaan melalui pelatihan dan pendampingan dengan teknik ceramah, tanya jawab, demonstrasi, tutorial dan praktik. Diperoleh hasil utama yaitu terjadinya peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan siswa sebanyak 38,28%. Sedangkan hasil tambahannya adalah terciptanya prototype produk yang bernilai jual dari para siswa. Kata kunci: pelatihan; kewirausahaan digital; canva; manajemen; minat kewirausahaan. AbstrackThe ability to utilize digital technology has become crucial in the era of globalization and the advancement of information technology today, not only for individuals but also for the sustainability of various business and industrial sectors. Recognizing the importance of digital skills, especially among the younger generation, schools are seen as needing to integrate entrepreneurship education with digital technology into the curriculum and extracurricular activities. The partner in this community service activity is SMA Kristen Palangka Raya. There are several priority issues, including: the lack of variety in entrepreneurship activities that can accommodate the interests, talents, and characteristics of students; the lack of knowledge about utilizing the digital platform Canva for business purposes; and the lack of skills in managing the production of a digital-based entrepreneurial product. Based on these issues, this community service activity aims to provide education, share knowledge with students and teachers about the essence of entrepreneurship, the utilization of the digital platform Canva for business purposes, and basic management of digital-based entrepreneurship. This activity involves 23 students and 4 teachers as participants. The implementation methods include training and mentoring through lectures, Q&A sessions, demonstrations, tutorials, and practice. The main result obtained is an increase in students' knowledge and skills by 38.28%. Meanwhile, the additional result is the creation of prototype products with market value by the students. Keywords: training; digital entrepreneurship; canva; management; entrepreneurial interest.
