The new era confronts teachers with new tasks and obligations. The use of advanced technology has greatly improved the tradition of teaching English. Technology offers several options, such as making teaching more exciting and efficient. Technology is one of the most powerful drivers of social and linguistic change. As a result, it is necessary to use a learning medium that encourages students to be more enthusiastic about studying. This study intends to apply learning media with technology-assisted to students of SD Negeri Rutong, while also describing assessment media from professionals and users. The development approach utilized is Design and Development with the ADDIE research model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation). The results obtained in this research are 1) Interactive multimedia named "Oxford Let’s Go for Young Learners"; 2) Media expert assessment 89,5%, material experts 91,7%, learning experts 92,4% based on the three assessments then the developed media belongs to the category of "Excellent"; 3) The assessment of 21 students gets a percentage of 74.8% in the category of "Good" which shows students satisfied with the developed media as a medium in learning English. However, further research is needed to determine the usefulness of multimedia use as a learning tool.

Abstract

This study investigates the integration of Quizlet as a digital tool to enhance English reading comprehension and vocabulary acquisition among second-semester Applied Business Administration students at Politeknik Negeri Ambon. The study addresses the urgent need to support ESP students who often struggle with discipline-specific reading due to limited academic vocabulary and low engagement, particularly in vocational higher education contexts. Using a mixed-methods design, data were collected from 45 students through pre-tests and post-tests, classroom observations, reflective journals, interviews, and Quizlet usage logs. Over eight instructional sessions, students engaged with Business Administration reading texts supported by Quizlet activities, including flashcards, games, and cumulative quizzes. Quantitative data were analyzed using paired-samples t-tests and effect size calculations to examine learning gains, while qualitative data were analyzed thematically to explore patterns of engagement and learner perceptions. The findings revealed significant improvements in vocabulary retention (+22.5) and reading comprehension (+23.2), with strong effect sizes. Weekly accuracy rates increased from 61% to 86%, and student engagement rose markedly, with active participation improving from 55% to 91%. Reflective data indicated a positive shift in students’ attitudes toward reading, from perceiving it as monotonous to viewing it as useful and engaging. These results highlight the pedagogical significance of integrating Quizlet as a supportive tool for fostering vocabulary development, reading comprehension, and learner engagement in ESP instruction.

Abstract

The objective of this study is a) to find out the percentage of accounting chatbot accuracy; and b) to find out the value level and category of interest variable with its indicators of attraction, attention, pleasure, and engagement in using accounting chatbots. This is a descriptive quantitative study. Primary data is the type of data used in this study. The data collection instrument is a questionnaire. The respondents are 54 students. The data analysis technique in this study consists of two tests: 1) blackbox test; and 2) user acceptance test (UAT). UAT on the interest variable consists of four indicators: attraction, attention, pleasure, and engagement. The result of this study shows that the blackbox accuracy test, which includes validation test and chatbot knowledge system test, reaches 100%. The UAT result indicates the level value of interest variable of 2.89 with the attraction indicator’s level value of 2.90, attention of 2.86, pleasure of 2.82, and engagement of 2.96 which are all in the high category in using accounting chatbots. The engagement indicator is the only indicator with the highest level value. The novelty of this study lies on the implementation of accounting chatbots as learning media outside of the classroom.
