Abstract

Legal certainty over nagari administrative areas is a crucial element in the nagari governance system. A base map in the form of imagery is needed to streamline the process of confirming and determining boundaries between bordering nagari. Drone technology is an effective solution in taking aerial photographs that can be used as a base image for drawing administrative boundaries. Nagari Sikucua Barat, located in Padang Pariaman Regency, currently does not have a clear legal basis for its administrative boundaries. This service activity aims to provide accurate and up-to-date base imagery to support the drawing of administrative boundaries legally and technically. In addition, this activity also increases the capacity of the village government in utilizing geospatial technology in order to systematically manage regional information. The result of this activity is the availability of the latest aerial imagery up to December 2024, replacing the previous High Resolution Upright Imagery (CTRT) which only includes data up to 2018. The impact of this activity includes increasing the efficiency of nagari administration, integrating assets and resources into a spatial data-based information system, and strengthening the legal basis of territorial boundaries. The service assistance will continue until the nagari has an interactive, integrated, and user-friendly information system to support data-based decision-making more accurately and transparently.

Abstract

The city of Padang is the capital city of West Sumatra Province which is located on the west coast of the island of Sumatra, in a position between 0°44' and 01°08' South Latitude and between 100°05' and 100°34' East Longitude. The construction of Phase VII Pasar Raya Padang City is located on Jalan M. Yamin, Jalan Sandang Pangan and Jalan Pasar Raya Kampung Jao Village, Padang Barat District. The construction site is in a commercial and office area. The increase in traffic volume due to the development will cause conflict between the amount of traffic generated and the capacity of the roads around Pasar Raya Phase VII, Padang City. This study aims to analyze the impact of traffic around the area due to the development of Pasar Raya Phase VII, Padang City. The analysis carried out includes generation and attraction analysis, analysis of road performance, and analysis of handling traffic impacts on existing traffic conditions, construction and operational periods. The results showed that the performance of the road section in the existing traffic conditions obtained the results of the loading, namely with V/C Ratio ranging from 0.12 to 0.84 with service level A to service level D. Then in traffic conditions during the construction period, namely V/C ratio ranging from 0.16 to 0.88. And finally in operational traffic conditions with V/C ratios ranging from 0.05 to 0.94.

Abstract

Ottawa sand has long been used as a standard material in geotechnical laboratory tests, particularly in grain size distribution and Sand Cone tests, due to its uniform particle size, purity, and stable physical properties. This study explores the potential of using beach sand from Nirwana and Mandeh as substitutes for Ottawa sand. The research process began with problem identification, followed by a literature review, sample collection, laboratory testing, and data analysis. The results show that the specific gravity of Nirwana sand (2.77) and Mandeh sand (2.72) are relatively close to Ottawa sand (±2.65). In terms of the coefficient of uniformity (Cu), Nirwana sand (2.34) is closer to Ottawa sand (2.17) compared to Mandeh sand (2.94). Regarding the coefficient of curvature (Cc), Nirwana sand (0.72) performs better than Mandeh sand (0.66), although both remain below the ideal range (1–3). Overall, Nirwana sand demonstrates greater potential as an alternative to Ottawa sand, with improvements in gradation recommended to achieve optimal performance.
