Abstract

This study discusses the pattern of interpersonal communication between independent interns batch 3 of communication science study program students of FIS UNJ. This study used qualitative methods with primary data collection conducted through interviews. There were 15 informants in the research who were students of Communication Sciences, Faculty of Social Sciences, State University of Jakarta who were participating in the independent internship program batch 3 which was held for five months. The results of this study showed that 15 informants interviewed, 11 of whom felt openness in communication, in empathy communication, 15 informants also experienced the running of the internship program. Meanwhile, 14 out of 15 informants admitted that they felt supportive communication and 14 out of 15 informants said they experienced positive communication in undergoing the independent internship program batch 3.

Abstract

A rapid development, especially in the technology industry, led to a big impact on media development. A lot of media companies switched from conventional media to digital media because of fear of being eroded and disability to adapt with the digital advances. not only that, there were also a lot of new online media appearance based on social media, one of which is Folkative. We cannot deny that social media is a new platform which is loved by lots of people, especially Z generation, so the appearance of new online media such as Folkative created a uniqueness of it. Folkative itself is a new online media platform based on Instagram which focused on news, art, culture, and local products, Folkative was called as new media since it was established on 2018. This research aims to determine the effect of uploads on Folkative on the fulfillment of information for Z generation. This research is quantitative research which defines phenomenon with numbers. This research also focused on communication major student at Universitas Negeri Jakarta especially on class of 2020 as the population. This research tests the validity and reliability of data, simple linear regression test to check the effect, and hypothesis test using IBM SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solutions) version 25. Based on the results of this research, it was determined that there was a positive impact of 15,6%, so it was concluded that there was an effect of uploads on Folkative on the fulfillment of information for Z generation.

Abstract

Culture shock is a condition experienced by a person when they feel afraid, anxious, and overly worried about the new environment they are facing. Students often experience culture shock, especially when they have to migrate outside their home areas to carry out their education. The purpose of this study is to find out how the adaptation process of overseas students of the Communication Studies study program at the State University of Jakarta in facing culture shock. The research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach where the informants of this research are seven overseas students of Communication Science UNJ class of 2020 who come from outside the island of Java, namely Medan, Riau, Tidore, Jambi, Padang, and Papua. The results obtained from this study are that overseas students experience a honeymoon phase, which is having a high curiosity and curiosity about the new atmosphere and environment they will live in, then they feel a phase of frustration which is the point of the culture shock phase, namely feeling unfamiliar and also frustrated. Then enter the third phase, which is readjustment where they begin to be able to accept and adapt to a new culture and environment. In the end, they go through a phase of resolution where they have a high sense of tolerance and try to make themselves comfortable with the new culture and environment.

Abstract

Internet menyebabkan perubahan gaya hidup, sebagian besar masyarakat semakin pandai dalam mengoperasikan gadget dan memanfaatkan internet. Namun, disayangkan bahwa kepandaian dalam menggunakan gadget, tidak diiringi oleh kemampuan literasi digital. Padahal mempunyai pengetahuan literasi digital sangatlah penting, terutama saat pandemi ini, dimana hampir seluruh kegiatan masyarakat dilakukan secara daring (online), sehingga literasi digital telah menjadi keterampilan utama untuk mendapatkan informasi, mengembangkan pribadi berkomunikasi, dan berinteraksi dengan orang lain. Metode yang peneliti gunakan untuk penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian yang digunakan deskriptif. Data yang digunakan sebagai bahan penelitian, dikumpulkan dengan cara melakukan wawancara dengan para informan, dokumentasi untuk menguatkan validasi data, dan observasi terhadap lingkungan disekitar informan serta tiap individu yang tergabung dalam Kelompok Majelis Taklim. Informan pada penelitian ini berjumlah delapan orang dan merupakan anggota dari Kelompok Majelis Taklim.

Abstract

Pengaruh Instagram sebagai platform media sosial terhadap personal branding Ganjar Pranowo dan dampaknya terhadap partisipasi pemilih Generasi Z dalam pemilihan umum 2024 di Indonesia. Studi ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif, menggunakan kuesioner sebagai teknik pengumpulan data utama. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa Ganjar Pranowo menggunakan Instagram untuk berinteraksi dengan pemilih Generasi Z dengan menampilkan dirinya sebagai pemimpin yang mendengarkan pendapat dan mendukung kepentingan masyarakat. Studi ini juga mengidentifikasi kunci dari personal branding, termasuk konteks penyampaian pesan, komunikasi dengan pengikut, dan membangun kepercayaan dan koneksi. Penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya menarik pemilih Generasi Z melalui konten yang menarik dan mudah dipahami, komunikasi yang konsisten, dan membangun hubungan yang kuat dengan pengikut. Secara keseluruhan, studi ini menyoroti pentingnya Instagram sebagai alat untuk personal branding politik dan potensinya untuk meningkatkan partisipasi pemilih Generasi Z dalam pemilihan presiden.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Strategi komunikasi krisis menjadi elemen penting dalam menangani wabah penyakit menular, seperti cacar air di sekolah untuk menjaga stabilitas operasional dan meredam kekhawatiran pemangku kepentingan. Terdapat beberapa penelitian yang membahas komunikasi krisis dalam konteks pendidikan, namun penelitian yang secara spesifik menganalisis strategi komunikasi krisis terkait wabah cacar air di sekolah dengan pendekatan Situational Crisis Communication Theory (SCCT) masih sangat terbatas. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini mengevaluasi strategi komunikasi krisis yang diterapkan oleh SMPN 8 Tangerang Selatan selama wabah cacar air. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi strategi komunikasi krisis yang diterapkan oleh SMPN 8 Tangerang Selatan selama wabah cacar air dan menganalisis kendala dalam komunikasi krisis serta memberikan rekomendasi untuk meningkatkan manajemen komunikasi krisis di lingkungan sekolah pada masa depan. Metode: Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam, analisis dokumen, dan observasi langsung. Hasil: Penelitian menemukan bahwa strategi komunikasi sekolah berfokus pada transparansi, kecepatan, dan inklusivitas. Penggunaan saluran komunikasi digital, seperti grup WhatsApp, efektif untuk sebagian besar pemangku kepentingan, tetapi masih menghadapi kendala akses teknologi pada sebagian orang tua. Kolaborasi dengan puskesmas setempat terbukti meningkatkan kredibilitas informasi dan mendukung implementasi kebijakan kesehatan. Namun, kurangnya edukasi preventif sebelum wabah menyoroti kebutuhan akan program literasi kesehatan yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

The Ciliwung River is facing serious problems related to environmental pollution. Public awareness, especially among children, regarding the importance of caring for the environment around the Ciliwung River remains relatively low. This community service program targets children living around the Ciliwung River by providing counseling on the importance of environmental preservation, accompanied by a screening of the animated film Adit & Sopo Jarwo. The method used in this community service activity is community education, aimed at instilling an understanding of how to address environmental issues around the Ciliwung River and encouraging children to participate in preserving their environment. It is hoped that this program will increase the awareness of the Ciliwung Care Community (MAT PECI) children about the importance of maintaining cleanliness and environmental sustainability, especially in the areas where they live. Sungai Ciliwung mengalami masalah serius terkait pencemaran lingkungan. Kesadaran masyarakat, terutama anak-anak mengenai pentingnya merawat lingkungan di sekitar Sungai Ciliwung masih tergolong rendah. Pengabdian ini memiliki target audiens anak-anak yang berdomisili di sekitar Sungai Ciliwung melalui kegiatan penyuluhan tentang pentingnya menjaga kelestarian lingkungan dengan penayangan film animasi “Adit & Sopo Jarwo”. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat adalah pendidikan masyarakat dengan menanamkan pemahaman untuk mengatasi permasalahan lingkungan di sekitar sungai Ciliwung, dan mendukung anak-anak untuk turut berperan menjaga kelestarian lingkungan-nya. Harapannya, program Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini mampu meningkatkan kesadaran anak-anak Masyarakat Peduli Ciliwung (MAT PECI) tentang pentingnya menjaga kebersihan dan kelestarian lingkungan khususnya tempat tinggal. Hasil dari kegiatan ini secara efektif membuat anak-anak yang tinggal di wilayah binaan Masyarakat Peduli Ciliwung (MAT PECI) lebih memahami pentingnya menjaga kelestarian dan kebersihan lingkungan tempat tinggalnya.

Abstract

Eksistensi media sosial di era digital 4.0 memudahkan wirausahawan mempromosikan produk di tengah keterbatasan akibat pandemi Covid-19. Hal ini mendukung wirausahawan untuk mempromosikan produk secara online. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji efektivitas penggunaan media sosial sebagai promosi kewirausahaan mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Sosial di tengah pandemi. Alasan memilih mahasiswa FIS UNJ karena beberapa mahasiswa membangun wirausaha dengan menjual tipe produk yang lebih bervariasi di tengah pandemi sekaligus sebagai penerapan matakuliah entrepreneur yang terdapat di kurikulum prodi di Fakultas Ilmu Sosial. Penelitian ini mengkaji efektivitas promosi wirausaha yang dilakukan mahasiswa. Penelitian promosi kewirausahaan sebelumnya meneliti wirausahawan sebagai subjek penelitian, sedangkan subjek penelitian ini tertuju pada mahasiswa yang sekaligus berperan sebagai wirausahawan. Metode penelitian menggunakan deskriptif kuantitatif. Data primer didapatkan dengan cara penyebaran kuesioner kepada mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Sosial Universitas Negeri Jakarta yang memanfaatkan instagram untuk promosi produk. Data diolah dari kuesioner dan dianalisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif uji t parsial. Hasil penelitian ini dijelaskan dengan model AIDA bahwa promosi produk melalui instagram belum berhasil sesuai yang diharapkan, promosi kurang menimbulkan ketertarikan, dan promosi di instagram tidak sepenuhnya memberikan pengaruh terhadap media promosi produk/jasa. Temuan tersebut terkait dengan tidak terpenuhinya unsur attention pada tahap awal AIDA disebabkan diantaranya konten promosi yang tidak menimbulkan ketertarikan.

Abstract

This study discusses the phenomenon of cyberbalkanization that arises from debates between Indonesian netizens regarding the Blackpink concert and the term "Fomo" used to describe the behavior of non-fans who attended the concert. This study aims to highlight the importance of awareness of the phenomenon of cyberbalkanization and how this can affect the dynamics of interaction between groups on social media, especially in the context of cyberbullying behavior, hate speech, and fragmentation of views among netizens who interact with each other on social media platforms. That way it can be related to the research title of the researcher, namely cyberbalkanization and polarization that occurs between Blackpink fans and non-fans, caused by the "Fomo" phenomenon which was carried out by many non- fans during the Blackpink concert in Jakarta, which both groups need to be aware of. because it can affect the dynamics of interaction between groups on social media. This study uses text analysis as a data collection method, involving seven informants who are fans and non-fans of Blackpink, and considers comments on social media about "Fomo" at Blackpink concerts. This research also refers to previous literature reviews related to cyberbalkanization, polarization on social media, and communication within the Blackpink fan community. This phenomenon resulted in a polarization of views among netizens who were divided into two camps with different perspectives regarding the presence of non-fans at concerts.

Abstract

This article aims to evaluate public opinion, specifically the followers of Instagram Volix Media, regarding the extent to which the information presented meets their needs. The issue under scrutiny pertains to Instagram Volix Media, which has been providing diverse information about Indonesian pop culture, music, film, artists, news, art, and little-known culture since 2021. To approach this issue, Cutlip & Center's theory on the characteristics of public opinion is employed, encompassing five dimensions: direction, intensity, stability, informational support, and social support. Data were collected by distributing questionnaires to 100 respondents who are followers of Instagram Volix Media. The data were analyzed using a quantitative approach and descriptive methods.The results indicate that the dimension of informational support received the highest average score, suggesting that respondents have more information on the issues presented. However, the dimension of social support received the lowest average score, indicating a lack of perceived support from others regarding the opinions expressed. This article concludes that Instagram Volix Media exhibits a positive direction of opinion, with the majority of respondents agreeing that the information presented meets the needs of public information.
