Abstract

The concept of education in Islamic tradition has undergone significant development through the thoughts of philosophers, one of whom is Al-Faraby. Al-Faraby education is a process that aims to shape individuals into ethical and intelligent human beings. Al-Faraby believes that dialogic methods in education are essential to encourage student engagement and critical thinking. The purpose of this study is to analyze the dialogic methodology in Islamic education based on Al-Faraby's thoughts. The research method used is the literature review method. In carrying out a literature review, structured steps must be followed, starting from the formulation of research questions to the selection of relevant sources. Through a critical analysis of existing sources, researchers can identify the methodology that has been used, as well as the results obtained from previous studies. The results of the study show that Al-Faraby emphasizes that education should be lifelong, and the dialogic method supports this principle by encouraging students to continue learning and discussing outside the formal environment. The dialogic method not only increases student engagement in the learning process but also encourages the development of critical thinking skills, social skills, and a deeper understanding of Islamic values. Thus, the application of dialogical methods in Islamic education can produce a generation that is not only academically intelligent but also ethical and responsible.

Abstract

Fenomena dunia pendidikan yang sudah memasuki era revolusi industri 4.0 menuntut guru untuk meningkatkan 4 kompetensi yang harus dimiliki, yaitu kompetensi kepribadian, kompetensi profesional, kompetensi pedagogik dan kompetensi sosial. Namun temuan di lapangan masih banyak guru yang belum menguasai kompetensi pedagogik, terutama guru Pendidikan Agama Islam yang masih kekurangan metode mengajar berlandaskan filsafat pendidikan Islam. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan filsafat metode mengajar Omar Mohammad al-Toumy al-Syaibany dan implikasinya dalam pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam di Sekolah Dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode studi literatur. Teknik pengambilan data dengan mengumpulkan dari dua acuan sumber data yakni data primer sebagai data utama yang dicari dan data sekunder sebagai data pendukung. Teknik analisis data dengan interpretasi data. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, filsafat metode mengajar dalam pendidikan Islam menurut al-Syaibany terdiri dari konsep metode mengajar dan pentingnya dalam pendidikan Islam, jenis-jenis metode mengajar dalam pendidikan Islam, metode mengajar umum yang terpenting dalam pendidikan Islam, ciri-ciri dan tujuan umum metode mengajar dalam pendidikan Islam, asas-asas umum metode mengajar dalam pendidikan Islam dan prinsip-prinsip umum yang menjadi dasar metode mengajar dalam pendidikan Islam. Filsafat metode mengajar dalam pendidikan Islam menurut al-Syaibani bisa dijadikan alternatif solusi untuk mengisi kekurangan metode pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam, karena memiliki landasan filosofis yang kuat Implikasinya, filsafat metode mengajar dalam pendidikan Islam menurut al-Syaibany ini mesti dipelajari, dipahami, dihayati, dikembangkan dan diimplementasikan dalam pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam. Salah satunya melalui lembaga pendidikan formal jenjang sekolah dasar yang memiliki peran sangat sentral dalam membina akhlak peserta didik.

Abstract

This article aims to examine the educational thought of Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal, a prominent figure in Islamic history known as a hadith scholar and founder of the Hanbali school of thought. Although better known in the fields of hadith and fiqh, the educational aspect of his thought is often overlooked. This study uses a qualitative approach by analyzing literature related to the educational values ​​of monotheism taught by Imam Ahmad. The analysis shows that monotheism education, according to Imam Ahmad, is a process of instilling belief in the oneness of Allah SWT, which must begin at an early age. The three main values ​​of Imam Ahmad's monotheism education encompass a Muslim's behavior in relation to Allah, oneself, and fellow human beings. This emphasis on monotheism education reflects Imam Ahmad's commitment to the pure teachings of Islam and the importance of educating the younger generation on a strong foundation of faith. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the dynamics of the implementation of religious guidance programs in secondary schools in the digital era. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study type conducted in three types of schools: SMA, SMK, and MAN. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation, involving principals, teachers, and students involved in religious activities. The results of the study indicate that the religious guidance program is implemented in a structured and sustainable manner through daily, weekly, and annual activities, such as Quranic recitation, congregational prayers, religious lectures, infaq activities, and commemorations of Islamic holidays. Each type of school has different characteristics, with SMA and SMK tending to emphasize the habituation of religious activities, while MAN shows a stronger integration between learning and worship practices. However, program implementation faces various dynamics in the digital era, such as the use of devices that disrupt concentration, limited teacher supervision, a lack of activity variety, and the influence of the social environment. On the other hand, the use of digital technology in religious activities is still not optimal and tends not to be systematically integrated. The level of student involvement also shows variation, ranging from active as drivers of activities to passive as participants. Thus, the development of innovative, adaptive, and participatory strategies is necessary, such as utilizing interactive digital media in religious activities, involving students as program drivers through religious organizations, and developing more varied activities based on the needs of the digital generation. These strategies are expected to increase student engagement and strengthen the internalization of religious values ​​in daily life.

Abstract

The concept of interest in financial mathematics plays an important role in various modern financial activities, but its meaning often conflicts with Islamic economic principles that prohibit usury. This study aims to analyze the fundamental differences between the concept of interest as a mathematical calculation instrument and usury as an additional practice that is unlawful in debt transactions according to Islamic law. Using a qualitative approach through a literature review method, this study examines the theories of simple and compound interest in mathematics as well as the views of Islamic jurisprudence and economics on usury. The findings show that interest in mathematics is neutral because it functions as a model for the growth of money value, both linearly and exponentially. Conversely, usury is considered harmful because it causes injustice, excessive financial burdens, and imbalances between lenders and borrowers. The study also found similarities between high interest rates on online loans and the characteristics of al-nasi’ah (deferred usury), mainly due to additional charges that continue to increase due to delayed payments. This study provides a conceptual understanding that links mathematical approaches and Sharia perspectives, and emphasizes the importance of financial literacy and understanding Islamic principles in financial decision-making. Further research is needed to evaluate the application of Sharia financial instruments as a more equitable and sustainable alternative system for society.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan menguji efektivitas Model Pembelajaran SYAM (Synectic-Amtsal) dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) di tingkat SMP. Model SYAM dirancang dengan mengintegrasikan pendekatan Synectic, yang berfokus pada pengembangan kreativitas dan pemikiran kritis melalui analogi, dengan metode Amtsal, yang menggunakan perumpamaan dalam Al-Qur'an untuk mempermudah pemahaman konsep agama. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan mixed methods dengan desain sekuensial eksploratoris, yang melibatkan analisis kualitatif untuk merancang model dan uji kuantitatif untuk mengukur efektivitasnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan Model SYAM secara signifikan meningkatkan pemahaman siswa, sebagaimana dibuktikan dengan peningkatan nilai rata-rata dari 79,35 pada pretest menjadi 89,41 pada posttest berdasarkan uji paired sample t-test (p < 0,001) dan Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test (p < 0,001). Model ini tidak hanya membantu siswa memahami materi dengan lebih baik tetapi juga meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan internalisasi nilai-nilai agama secara efektif. Meskipun demikian, penelitian ini memiliki keterbatasan pada jumlah sampel dan durasi treatment, sehingga disarankan untuk melakukan penelitian lebih lanjut dengan cakupan lebih luas dan durasi yang lebih panjang. Hasil penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi signifikan dalam inovasi model pembelajaran berbasis agama yang interaktif, relevan, dan kontekstual untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran di sekolah.

Abstract

The development of the times in the global era provides opportunities and challenges for Islamic religious education. One of the challenges is the entry of liberalism. The purpose of this research is to provide an understanding of the entry of liberalism as a result of global openness to Islamic religious education and efforts to minimize the negative impact of liberalism. The research method used is a qualitative approach to the literature study method, with data analysis techniques including the stage: data reduction, data presentation, and verification as well as drawing conclusions. Results obtained: 1) Liberalism in Islamic education should be linked to transcendental relations as the foundation and limitation of liberal action itself; 2) Liberalism has a positive impact that is momentary and a negative impact that is long-term; 3) Efforts that need to be made to minimize the negative impact of liberalism in Islamic education are the need for strategies and policies that are relevant to the needs and adjusted to the philosophical and sociological foundations of Indonesian society. Implications: the findings show the need for an affirmation between liberalism and the transcendental foundation in Islamic education and the urgency of awareness of the dualistic impact of liberalism. Conclusion: liberalism in Islamic education must be limited considering the impact it causes, so that policies that are in accordance with the needs based on the philosophical and sociological needs of the Indonesian nation are needed.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education at the secondary level remains dominated by textual-cognitive approaches, leaving students' self-control capacity in dawah contexts undocumented. This study aims to understand how senior high school students narrate self-control experiences in everyday dawah situations, connect them to their religious values, and how reflective learning cycles facilitate the reconstruction of those experiences. An exploratory qualitative case study design was applied to one eleventh-grade class at SMAN 7 Bandung. Data were collected from 24 reflective journals, 30 impression-and-feedback responses, field notes, and a supplementary teacher interview, analyzed through abductive thematic analysis with hybrid coding. Findings reveal a consistent three-phase self-control pattern: impulse identification, religiously grounded inhibition, and empathy-oriented alternative action selection. Behavioral mechanisms and spiritual motivation appear to operate as an inseparable moment — a dimension absent from the quantitatively dominated Muslim adolescent self-regulation literature. A significant emergent finding is the spontaneous appearance of dawah nafsiyah as an autonomous arena in which students independently direct soul-purification inward. Student voices critically evaluating PAI as insufficiently practical reinforce that experiential learning design is not merely an academic agenda but a need articulated by students themselves. This study proposes an integration of the Self-Control Model, Islamic Religious Psychology, Experiential Learning Theory, and the Tajribi method as a framework with potential to facilitate authentic religious value internalization in regular PAI classrooms.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana pengaruh informasi mengenai perceraian public figure di media sosial dapat memengaruhi pandangan Generasi Z terhadap pernikahan, serta bagaimana hal ini ditinjau dari perspektif Pendidikan Agama Islam. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah studi literatur dengan mengkaji berbagai artikel ilmiah yang relevan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa informasi mengenai konflik perceraian public figure yang disajikan secara berlebihan menciptakan konstruksi sosial baru yang membuat sebagian Generasi Z memandang pernikahan sebagai hubungan yang rentan dan berisiko. Hal ini berdampak pada meningkatnya sikap skeptis, kecemasan, dan kecenderungan untuk menunda pernikahan. Dari sudut pandang Pendidikan Agama Islam, ditemukan bahwa perlunya penguatan pemahaman tentang nilai-nilai sacral pernikahan, komitmen, serta literasi media agar generasi muda tidak menjadikan media sosial sebagai satu-satunya acuan dalam membentuk persepsi. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya pendekatan Pendidikan yang lebih adaptif dalam mempersiapkan Generasi Z untuk menghadapi kehidupan berumah tangga.
