Abstract

The research examines the problems of students who procrastinate both in working and Complete tasks even when time approaches deadline but still do not submit the task caused by spending more Some time to play smartphones. This study aims to determine the degree of addiction relationship Smartphones with academic procrastination of class students VIII. The method used is quantitative. Design The research taken in this study is correlation. The subjects used in this study amounted to 64 students class VIII Determination of samples used in research by using proportionate stratified technique random sampling. Measuring instruments used in this study is a scale made by the researcher himself which refers to the smartphone addiction scale and scale academic procrastination. Data analysis techniques that Used in this study is normality test, test linearity, and hypothesis testing. Results of this study shows that there is a significant relationship between smartphone addiction and procrastination academic in students. Then it can be concluded that The heavier the smartphone addiction, the higher academic procrastination of students, and vice versa The lighter the smartphone addiction, the more low academic procrastination of students.

Abstract

Academic stress is a psychological condition frequently experienced by students, particularly during final exam preparation, and may negatively affect mental health and academic performance. This study aimed to examine gender differences in academic stress levels among senior high school students. A comparative quantitative cross-sectional design was employed. The sample consisted of 60 twelfth-grade students of SMAN 1 Padang Sago (30 males, 30 females) selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a 20-item Likert-scale academic stress questionnaire with established validity (r > .30) and reliability (α = .87). After meeting assumptions of normality and homogeneity, an independent samples t-test was conducted. The results revealed a significant gender difference in academic stress, with female students reporting higher stress levels than male students, t(58) = 2.41, p = .02, 95% CI [-11.16, -1.04], Cohen’s d = 0.79. The effect size indicates a medium-to-large practical significance. These findings highlight the importance of gender-sensitive interventions in managing academic stress within school settings.

Abstract

Penelitian yang dilakukan oleh Afdal Yusra dengan judul Pengaruh Pola Asuh Orang Tua terhadap Motivasi Belajar Santri di TPQ/TPSQ Nagari Koto Dalam Selatan bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara pola asuh orang tua dan motivasi belajar santri. Pola asuh didefinisikan sebagai interaksi orang tua dalam mendidik anak yang terbagi menjadi otoritatif, otoriter, permisif, dan mengabaikan, sementara motivasi belajar adalah dorongan internal dan eksternal yang mendorong keberlanjutan aktivitas belajar. Dengan pendekatan kuantitatif yang melibatkan 65 santri dan orang tua, data diperoleh melalui kuesioner dan dianalisis menggunakan regresi linier. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun pola asuh sebagian besar berada pada kategori tinggi (55,4%), motivasi belajar mayoritas rendah (86,2%), dan pola asuh tidak memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap motivasi belajar (R=0,033, kontribusi 0,1%). Penelitian ini menekankan bahwa faktor lain, seperti lingkungan belajar, karakteristik santri, dan metode pengajaran, lebih berperan dalam membentuk motivasi, sehingga kolaborasi antara orang tua, guru, dan lembaga pendidikan diperlukan untuk menciptakan strategi pembelajaran yang efektif.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low motivation of students to learn, which is an important factor in learning success. Success can be achieved if there is a strong motivation from within the student, because motivation functions as a driver to achieve good achievement, while lack of motivation can reduce learning achievement. This study aims to determine the level of student learning motivation, the level of student learning achievement, and the relationship between learning motivation and student learning achievement at SDN 28 Bungin Lareh Nan Panjang Barat. The approach used is quantitative with the research subjects of grade IV, V, and VI students totaling 41 students. Data were collected through a learning motivation questionnaire and documentation of learning achievement, using a questionnaire measuring tool based on the theory of Amanillah & Rosiana (2017). Data analysis using Pearson correlation test. The results showed that the sig value (2-tailed) was 0.000 <0.05, which means there is a significant relationship between learning motivation and learning achievement. The correlation coefficient of 0.530 shows that the relationship between the two variables is 53.0% and is positive, with t count (3.936) > t table (1.685), so it can be concluded that the higher the learning motivation, the higher the student learning achievement, and vice versa.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of academic stress on sleep quality of final semester students at the Islamic Institute of West Sumatra Pariaman. The research method used a quantitative approach with a simple regression design. The research sample consisted of 57 final semester students taken using saturated sampling technique. Data collection used academic stress scale modified from Gadzella and Masten (2005) and sleep quality scale modified from Buysse et al. (1989). The results showed that there was no significant effect between academic stress and student sleep quality (sig. value 0.358 > 0.05). The coefficient of determination (R Square) of 0.015 indicates that academic stress only contributed 1.5% to sleep quality, while 98.5% was influenced by other factors. These findings indicate that students' sleep quality is more influenced by factors outside academic stress, such as daily habits and environmental factors.
