Abstract

Islamic banking in Malaysia and Indonesia ranks first (Malaysia) and third (Indonesia) based on the top Islamic financial development indicator (IFDI) countries. However, this great potential has not been matched by a comprehensive performance measurement covering social and sharia aspects as well as the health of Islamic banks.  Therefore, this study aims to measure the performance of Islamic banks through the Maqashid Syariah Index and RGEC approaches using quantitative methods.  The results showed that through the MSI approach, Malaysian Islamic banking is superior to Indonesian Islamic banking in the aspects of justice and benefit. Through the RGEC approach, the NPF, ROA, FDR, and CAR ratios show that Malaysian Islamic banking is superior. The implications of this research can be useful for Islamic banking in developing the right strategy in order to improve sharia and social performance and bank health.

Abstract

Investment can be interpreted as an activity to invest in both money and objects in an object with the aim of obtaining profits over a certain period. Investment decisions are a very important decision in investing, where in order to get a profit we have to deal with risk, therefore investors must evaluate the relationship between return and risk. This type of research is associative. The data used is primary data obtained through the dissemination of questionnaires to 264 student respondents of the Sharia Economic Law study program of the Faculty of Sharia and legal sciences UIN SATU Tulungagung. The sampling method used by researchers in each study program is proportionate stratified random sampling. The results show that the coefficient value of the variable parameters of investment knowledge is 1.61 which means that any increase in the value of knowledge or understanding of investment will increase one's interest. in investing. This means that there is a positive linear relationship between one's knowledge and one's interest in making investments. The higher the knowledge a person knows investing, the higher one's interest in investing. The result of measuring the goodness of the model is to use the value of the coefficient of determination R2 which shows a number of 48.6%. The value can be interpreted that the model is able to explain the actual condition of only 48.6% where the remaining 51.4% of a person's interest in investing is influenced by other variables outside the investment knowledge variable..

Abstract

This research aims to identify the influence of religiosity in determining customers' decisions to choose an Islamic bank using a systematic literature review (SLR) approach. The SLR stages start from identifying, assessing, and interpreting literature, resulting in 18 articles in 18 journals published in 2015-2022, indexed by SINTA, and having E-ISSN. The results of this research indicate that the influence of customer religiosity still has opportunities and challenges to be improved, as indicated by the low religiosity factors of each customer, such as the lack of religious calling that underlies attitudes and behavior, the basis for prohibiting usury and use limited to profit interests. The indicators of religiosity used to influence customers' decisions to choose an Islamic bank are the quality of Islamic products, avoiding riba transactions, the principle of profit sharing, and Islamic features. The research in the sample has a gap in results so it can become a gap for further research. The research proposals obtained in improving customer decisions are increasing religiosity, meeting customer needs, and the effectiveness of Islamic financial literacy. This research can be used as a reference for further research regarding the role of religiosity in influencing customers' decisions to choose Islamic banks.
