Abstract

This study identifies the problems faced by the residents of Banyuurip village and their adaptation efforts in preserving their mangrove areas. This paper aims to portray the community behavior dynamic in conserving the environment in line with the growth of pop culture in the social media era. Three components will be examined: first, the way people behave toward their environment; second, the economic pressure and the resources maximizing process, and the last component being the environmental issues that are framed in local political ecology. This paper uses the following five phases identified by the Sustainable Livelihood Framework (SLF): identifying vulnerabilities in the community, mapping the livelihood assets of the community, observing the transformation of structures and processes, identifying strategies implemented by the community, and formulating solutions. The SLF approach is useful for removing traditional barriers and is able to evaluate and modify the approach taken to follow the latest trends in society, by enriching the information gathered through this participation. This paper’s findings maintain that the mangrove conservation area in Banyuurip Village reassures the community of its potential use as conservation land and an alternative source of livelihood. However, the manpower required to conserve the mangrove consists mainly of senior residents and is partially supported by the younger generation. Conserving mangroves requires a lot of funds and is an arduous process. It requires support from several parties, such as local companies, mining companies, universities, government agencies, and others.

Abstract

Islamic digital banks operate entirely online, without physical offices, making the service quality of their apps a key factor in shaping customer satisfaction and trust. However, empirical evidence on how digital service quality affects satisfaction and how satisfaction plays a role in building trust remains limited, especially in Indonesia and Malaysia, where the Islamic digital banking industry is still in its early stages. This study aims to evaluate the influence of five dimensions of service quality, as defined by the SERVQUAL model, on customer satisfaction and to examine the role of satisfaction in building trust in Islamic digital banks. This study uses a quantitative approach, based on a survey of 284 users of Islamic digital banks in Indonesia and Malaysia. The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling with the Partial Least Squares method. Service quality variables include tangibles, reliability, assurance, responsiveness, and empathy, with satisfaction as a mediator and trust as a dependent variable. The results show that only tangibles and assurance significantly affect customer satisfaction in both countries, while empathy and responsiveness show different effects across countries. Furthermore, satisfaction has a positive effect on trust and acts as a partial mediator in the relationship between service quality and trust. It confirms that improving the quality of digital services, particularly the ease of use of applications, assurance of Sharia compliance, and strong relationships and communication with customers, is an essential strategy for building long-term satisfaction and trust. Further research is recommended to include other variables to broaden understanding.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis implementasi konsep green economy sektor UMKM serta peran green banking dalam mendukung pertumbuhan ekonomi berkelanjutan berbasis prinsip syariah. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan Systematic Literature Review (SLR) dengan mengkaji berbagai sumber ilmiah dari jurnal dan artikel terkait Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa UMKM, dengan memanfaatkan bahan baku daur ulang, berkontribusi signifikan terhadap pengurangan limbah dan emisi karbon, sekaligus mendukung prinsip ekonomi sirkular yang sejalan dengan nilai-nilai maqashid syariah. Dukungan pembiayaan dari green banking, seperti yang dilakukan oleh Perbankan Syariah, memperkuat implementasi green economy melalui penyediaan akses modal berbasis prinsip keberlanjutan. Meskipun menghadapi tantangan seperti keterbatasan teknologi ramah lingkungan dan literasi keuangan, peluang untuk pengembangan UMKM tetap terbuka luas dengan meningkatnya kesadaran pasar dan dukungan kebijakan hijau. Integrasi Perbankan syariah dengan green economy pada sektor UMKM menjadi kunci dalam mendorong pertumbuhan ekonomi yang lebih inklusif, berdaya saing, dan berkelanjutan sesuai nilai-nilai Islam.

Abstract

The development of financial technology (fintech) has brought about a significant transformation in the global financial industry, including in Indonesia. Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) as one of the largest Islamic banks in Indonesia, has adopted fintech to increase Islamic financial inclusion in the digital era. This study aims to analyze how the adoption of fintech by BSI can expand access to Islamic financial services, especially for people in remote areas and MSMEs. The research method used is qualitative descriptive by collecting secondary data from scientific journals, books, and so on. The results of the study show that digital innovations such as BSI Mobile, BSI QRIS, and collaboration with fintech platforms have succeeded in increasing the accessibility of Islamic financial services. BSI's digital transactions reached 97.94%, with ZISWAF transactions through BSI Mobile growing 31% in September 2024. The adoption of fintech by BSI not only increases operational efficiency, but also strengthens Islamic financial literacy and empowers MSMEs and rural communities. Thus, BSI has created an inclusive, accessible, and Islamic financial ecosystem.

Abstract

The rapid development of the global economy can lead to the need for sustainable financing, especially in supporting environmentally friendly Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). This study analyzes the potential of qardhul hasan as a social financing instrument in supporting the development of environmentally friendly Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia and explores the role of Islamic banking in the implementation of green financing. As an interest-free financing scheme, qardhul hasan offers an innovative solution for MSMEs that are constrained from accessing conventional financing due to high interest rates and strict requirements. In the context of green financing, qardhul hasan not only provides more inclusive access to capital but also encourages MSMEs to adopt sustainable business practices. These practices include the use of environmentally friendly technologies, ecological raw materials, as well as better waste management, which directly contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly related to climate action and inclusive economic growth. The research uses a qualitative method with a literature study approach to examine the relevance of qardhul hasan in supporting the sustainability agenda. The results show that qardhul hasan not only reduces the financial burden of MSMEs but also allows businesses to focus on developing their business, improving operational efficiency, and expanding markets. In addition, qardhul hasan strengthens the role of Islamic banking as a strategic actor in green financing by providing financial support for MSMEs that contribute to environmental conservation. With cross-sector synergy, qardhul hasan has great potential to become a key element in creating a balance between economic growth and environmental sustainability. This research is expected to provide academic and practical contributions in the development of sharia-based sustainable financing and strengthen Indonesia's commitment to climate change mitigation.

Abstract

Prinsip Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) adalah kerangka keberlanjutan yang menilai kinerja lembaga dalam aspek lingkungan, sosial, dan tata kelola yang baik. Dalam keuangan Islam, nilai ESG sejalan dengan prinsip maqasid al-shariah yang menekankan keadilan, kemaslahatan, dan tanggung jawab sosial. Meski berpotensi besar, integrasi ESG dalam instrumen keuangan syariah, khususnya sukuk, menghadapi tantangan seperti rendahnya literasi, belum adanya standar pelaporan, dan risiko greenwashing. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan prinsip ESG pada sukuk syariah dan dampaknya terhadap pengembangan instrumen keuangan Islam berkelanjutan. Metode yang digunakan adalah Systematic Literature Review dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif terhadap publikasi ilmiah relevan dari tahun 2020–2025 mengenai ESG dan sukuk syariah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa integrasi ESG dalam sukuk syariah memperkuat posisi keuangan Islam sebagai sistem yang etis dan berkelanjutan. Inovasi seperti green sukuk, social sukuk, dan sustainability sukuk mendukung pembiayaan proyek sosial dan ramah lingkungan sesuai maqasid al-shariah. Penerapan ESG juga meningkatkan daya tarik investor dan kredibilitas pasar, serta mendorong pengembangan instrumen keuangan Islam berkelanjutan yang sejalan dengan Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the innovation of digital financing models in Islamic Microfinance Institutions (IMFIs) as a strategy to enhance financial inclusion among marginalized communities in Indonesia. The research is motivated by the financial access gap among low-income groups. The study employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach by reviewing national and international journal articles published between 2019 and 2025 that are relevant to the topics of digitalization, Islamic microfinance, and financial inclusion. The review process involved systematic stages of literature collection, selection, and thematic analysis to identify patterns, trends, and research gaps. The findings reveal that digital innovations such as mobile banking, Islamic peer-to-peer lending, social crowdfunding, and online information systems enhance institutional efficiency, transparency, and access to financial services for low-income groups. Moreover, digitalization strengthens financial literacy and economic empowerment for marginalized communities. However, key challenges remain, including low digital literacy, infrastructure limitations, and institutional readiness.

Abstract

This study analyzes the use of WhatsApp Blast as a digital communication strategy to increase fundraising at the Persada Zakat Institution (LAZ) in East Java. Using a descriptive qualitative approach through interviews, observations, and document analysis, this study explores the influence of WhatsApp Blast on donor decisions and the role of trust in strengthening their loyalty. The results show that WhatsApp Blast is effective at reaching donors quickly, personally, and in large numbers at an efficient cost compared to conventional methods. The application of Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) principles and segmentation, targeting, and positioning (STP) strategies has been proven to support increased donor participation, especially during religious moments. In addition, transparency in information, accountability in reporting, and personal communication via WhatsApp Blast strengthen donor trust, a key factor in donation decisions. However, the effectiveness of this strategy is greatly influenced by segmentation, content quality, and the timing of message delivery. This study confirms that optimizing WhatsApp Blast can increase fundraising success and strengthen long-term relationships between institutions and donors.Penelitian ini menganalisis pemanfaatan WhatsApp Blast sebagai strategi komunikasi digital dalam meningkatkan fundraising pada Lembaga Amil Zakat (LAZ) Persada Jawa Timur. Dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif melalui wawancara, observasi, dan analisis dokumen, penelitian ini mengeksplorasi pengaruh WhatsApp Blast terhadap keputusan donatur serta peran kepercayaan dalam memperkuat loyalitas mereka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa WhatsApp Blast efektif dalam menjangkau donatur secara cepat, personal, dan masif dengan biaya efisien dibandingkan metode konvensional. Penerapan prinsip Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) serta strategi segmentasi, targeting, dan positioning (STP) terbukti mendukung peningkatan partisipasi donatur, khususnya pada momentum keagamaan. Selain itu, transparansi informasi, akuntabilitas laporan, dan komunikasi personal melalui WhatsApp Blast memperkuat kepercayaan donatur, yang menjadi faktor kunci dalam keputusan berdonasi. Kendati demikian, efektivitas strategi ini sangat dipengaruhi oleh segmentasi, kualitas konten, serta waktu pengiriman pesan. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa optimalisasi WhatsApp Blast berpotensi meningkatkan keberhasilan fundraising dan memperkuat hubungan jangka panjang antara lembaga dan donatur.

Abstract

This study highlights the urgency of implementing a Takaful-based protection scheme to address the increasing vulnerability of gig workers within Indonesia’s rapidly expanding digital economy. The research aims to examine the opportunities and challenges of takaful implementation in the gig economy and to conceptualize a Pentahelix-based partnership model for developing an inclusive and sustainable Sharia-compliant insurance ecosystem. Using a qualitative descriptive approach with a conceptual strategy through library research, this study analyzes academic literature, regulatory frameworks, and institutional reports related to takaful, social protection, and platform-based labor. The findings indicate that despite the steady growth of the takaful sector in Indonesia, takaful penetration among gig and informal workers remains extremely low. Limited takaful literacy, weak digital integration, and insufficient cross-sectoral policy coordination is identified as the main constraints. To overcome these challenges, this study proposes a Pentahelix collaboration model involving government, academia, industry stakeholders, communities, and media to strengthen literacy, encourage product innovation, and improve institutional coordination. This study contributes to policymaking by offering a collaborative framework for integrating takaful into Indonesia’s gig economy ecosystem and provides strategic insights for key policymakers particularly in terms of regulatory coordination, incentive alignment, and data integration mechanisms. Furthermore, the proposed Pentahelix-based model serves as an operational reference for industry stakeholders and digital platforms in embedding Sharia-compliant protection schemes within platform-based work systems.

Abstract

Salah satu layanan yang ditawarkan oleh Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) melalui BSI Mobile bagi pengguna yang sering menggunakan metode pembayaran non-tunai adalah fitur Top Up E-Wallet, yang memudahkan pengguna untuk mengisi ulang saldo dompet digital mereka. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui cara menggunakan fitur layanan Top Up E-Wallet BSI Mobile di BSI KCP Mojosari, memahami manfaatnya, serta mengetahui pendapat pelanggan tentang fitur layanan Top Up E-Wallet BSI Mobile di BSI KCP Mojosari. Pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif digunakan sebagai metodologi penelitian dalam studi ini. Prosedur sampling acak digunakan untuk memilih informan dalam penelitian ini. Metode pengumpulan data meliputi observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data meliputi reduksi data, visualisasi data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Sementara itu, triangulasi digunakan untuk menilai validitas data, yang dapat membantu peneliti menentukan keandalan informasi dari berbagai sumber. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan: Pelanggan BSI KCP Mojosari akan menemukan fitur layanan BSI Mobile E-Wallet Top Up mudah dipahami dan digunakan. Fitur layanan BSI Mobile E-Wallet Top Up sangat disukai oleh pelanggan. Persepsi mempertimbangkan untuk menggunakan fitur layanan ini karena kemudahan penggunaannya dan biaya administrasi yang rendah. Berdasarkan kebutuhan pelanggan, target persepsi dianggap memiliki saldo digital penuh. Ditemukan bahwa kondisi jaringan yang buruk dan gangguan server menjadi penyebab kegagalan transaksi Top Up.
