Abstract

The quality of students in Indonesia must be improved in education, both general education and Islamic religious education and at this time students find it difficult to understand the learning material provided by the teacher. One solution to improve student achievement at school is through the Benime application. The Benime application is a social media or platform used to create various forms of very interesting animated displays with a white background or whiteboard. The purpose of this study was to determine the benefits of the Benime application in order to improve student achievement at school. The medote used by researchers in this study is quantitative method, using surveys to students at school through google form. The results of this study are to determine the benefits of the Benime application in improving student achievement at school. The limitation of this study is that researchers only utilize the Benime application for one subject, and researchers hope that future researchers can do the same research but aim to develop the Benime application for learning videos.

Abstract

The contextually-based numeracy literacy instruction aimed to improve students' capacity to comprehend and utilize mathematical ideas pertinent to everyday life. Numeracy literacy is a crucial competency in contemporary society; nevertheless, polls reveal that pupils' numeracy abilities in Indonesia are still comparatively inadequate. This program offered training for educators and learners to adopt a contextually-based learning methodology. The understanding test results indicated a rise in students' average scores from 51.18 in the pre-test to 81 in the post-test, so validating the efficacy of this method. Furthermore, educators acquired novel perspectives on contextual teaching methodologies, enhancing the engagement and relevance of mathematics education. Periodic assessments indicated that students instructed by this strategy attained superior learning outcomes relative to traditional methods. The documentation of best practices functions as a reference for other schools to implement analogous strategies. This program markedly enhances the quality of mathematics education.

Abstract

Kain tenun Buton – Sulawesi Tenggara merupakan bentuk kreativitas tradisional masyarakat Buton dengan berbagai motif dan makna tersendiri. Namun, banyaknya jenis kain tenun Buton membuat tidak semua orang, termasuk masyarakat Buton, dapat mengenali jenisnya. Penelitian ini mengklasifikasikan citra kain tenun Buton menggunakan metode k-nearest neighbor (K-NN) dengan fitur warna RGB, HSV, dan GLCM. Dari hasil pengunjian yang telah dilakukan dengan menggunakan 150 citra uji, hasil cropping 2 loba yang terbagi ke dalam 10 kelas berbeda memperoleh nilai akurasi tertinggi yaitu 96% ketika menggunakan fitur RGB, 93,33% ketika menggunakan fitur HSV dan 88% ketika menggunakan fitur GLCM, pada masing-masing nilai k = 1 dan 2. Selain itu, pengujian juga dilakukan untuk 20 citra hasil cropping 4 loba dan memperoleh nilai akurasi tertinggi sebesar 95% ketika menggunakan fitur RGB pada nilai k = 1 dan 2, serta 100% ketika menggunakan fitur HSV pada nilai k = 3 dan 5. Akurasi yang cukup rendah yaitu sebesar 25% didapatkan ketika menggunakan fitur GLCM pada nilai k =1 sampai 5. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa metode K-NN dengan fitur warna RGB dan HSV memberikan akurasi tinggi dalam klasifikasi kain tenun Buton, sehingga dapat menjadi solusi efektif untuk identifikasi jenis kain secara otomatis

Abstract

Mahasiswa Universitas Sembilanbelas November Kolaka Bersama beberapa orang dosen melaksanakan berbagai kegiatan di Desa Sumber Rejeki, Kecamatan Watubangga, Kabupaten Kolaka, pelaksanaan periode 5 Agustus hingga 15 September 2024, dengan tujuan memberdayakan masyarakat dan mewujudkan desa mandiri berkarakter BISA (Berintegrasi, Inovatif, Santun, dan Adaptif). Program yang dijalankan mencakup 7 kegiatan non-fisik, seperti sosialisasi menabung dan pembuatan tabungan untuk anak-anak yang melibatkan 35 siswa SMP, serta sosialisasi cuci tangan yang benar dengan 50 siswa SD, yang berhasil meningkatkan kesadaran tentang pentingnya kebersihan dan literasi keuangan. Kegiatan fisik mencakup budidaya 150 bibit Tanaman Obat Keluarga (TOGA) di 3 dusun dan pemasangan 10 papan nama aparat desa untuk meningkatkan akses informasi dan pemanfaatan tanaman obat keluarga. Selain itu, program tambahan seperti pemeriksaan kesehatan melibatkan 75 warga, sementara kegiatan Jumat Bersih dengan partisipasi 50 warga setiap minggu berhasil meningkatkan semangat gotong-royong dan kebersihan lingkungan. Hasilnya menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan kesadaran masyarakat, serta terciptanya lingkungan desa yang lebih sehat dan asri. Kolaborasi yang baik antara mahasiswa, pemerintah desa, dan masyarakat menjadi faktor kunci keberhasilan program ini, memberikan dampak positif berkelanjutan bagi pembangunan dan pemberdayaan masyarakat desa.

Abstract

Lobster is a high-value fishery commodity widely cultivated, including in Watorumbe Bata Village. However, diseases attacking lobsters are often difficult for farmers to identify early, leading to economic losses due to delayed treatment. This study aims to develop an expert system to identify lobster symptoms and diseases using the backward chaining method. This method enables the system to reason logically and systematically from disease hypotheses to symptom facts. Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews with lobster experts, and literature study. The system development followed the Waterfall model, comprising analysis, design, coding, and testing phases. The implementation results show that the system can diagnose diseases based on symptom inputs and provide information including disease name, cause, solution, and likelihood level. Black-box testing confirmed that all system functions operated properly, while accuracy testing using 20 sample data showed a system accuracy rate of 90%. These results indicate that the expert system using the backward chaining method is effective in assisting farmers to identify lobster diseases more quickly and accurately, thus supporting the sustainability and productivity of lobster farming.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of integrative curriculum implementation and character education on the academic success of students in Islamic boarding schools in East Java. Utilizing a quantitative research design, the study gathered data from a sample of 150 students, employing a Likert scale ranging from 1 to 5 to measure responses. The analysis was conducted using SPSS version 25 to determine the relationship between the variables. Findings reveal a significant positive effect of both integrative curriculum and character education on academic performance. Integrative curriculum implementation (r = 0.64, p < 0.01) and character education (r = 0.58, p < 0.01) were both positively correlated with academic success. Multiple regression analysis showed that these variables together explained 52% of the variance in academic success. The results underscore the importance of a holistic educational approach that combines academic and character development to enhance student outcomes. These insights offer valuable implications for educators and policymakers aiming to improve educational strategies in Islamic boarding schools.

Abstract

As a maritime nation, fish is a staple in the Indonesian diet, rich in nutrition and a crucial protein source. It is imperative to maintain the freshness of fish to ensure the quality of fish production. However, the practice of mixing fresh and non-fresh fish poses a serious threat to consumer health and diminishes the overall quality of fish production. Therefore, the development of an automated and efficient method is necessary to distinguish between fresh and non-fresh fish. This research proposes the application of the Naïve Bayes method in classifying fish freshness based on color analysis in the eye area image. This approach involves the extraction of entropy features after segmenting fish images using the RGB and YCbCr color models. A total of 40 datasets of fish eye images were used for training and testing the model. The research results indicate that the proposed classification method achieved an accuracy rate of 97.5%. This success signifies the potential of the color analysis method and entropy features in distinguishing levels of fish freshness. These findings contribute to the development of automated techniques for monitoring and processing fish quality in the fisheries industry.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of Information and Communication Technology (ICT)-integrated learning on high school students’ mathematics achievement through a comprehensive, data-driven quantitative approach. Utilizing a correlational research design, the study involved a sample of 230 students drawn from three public high schools in Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia. Data were obtained from two primary sources: a validated questionnaire assessing the extent and quality of ICT usage in mathematics classrooms, and students’ semester examination scores, which served as indicators of academic achievement. Descriptive statistical analysis was used to outline general patterns of ICT implementation, followed by Pearson correlation and multiple regression analyses to explore and quantify the relationship between ICT integration and student performance in mathematics. The findings demonstrate a significant positive correlation between ICT-integrated learning and students’ academic outcomes (r = 0.48, p < 0.01). Regression results further reveal that ICT usage accounts for approximately 23% of the variance in mathematics achievement, indicating a substantial contribution of technology-enhanced learning to students’ performance. These results suggest that effective incorporation of ICT tools—such as GeoGebra, Desmos, and various online learning platforms—can strengthen students’ conceptual understanding, promote deeper engagement, and facilitate more interactive learning experiences. The study underscores the importance of enhancing teachers’ digital pedagogical competencies and encourages the adoption of ICT-based instructional strategies that support active, interactive, and personalized learning within mathematics education.
