Abstract

Abstract

The increase in the use of energy sources causes air pollution. The Air Pollutant Index (API) is information about the air quality of a place and at a certain time. API has several parameters, namely SO2, PM10, NO2, O3, and CO. In this study, the KNN method was used to assist categorize air quality. However, all training data were used during the classification process with KNN causes a long prediction process. Another problem with KNN is difficult to determine the optimal value of the K parameter in KNN. The Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) method can be used for problems on KNN. Therefore, the aim of this study is to predict air quality based on the API by combining the KNN-PSO method. The dataset used is the API dataset for the DKI Jakarta area 2017-2019 totaling 1075 data. The results showed the accuracy for the KNN-PSO method was 98.42% with a precision value of 97.75% and a recall value of 98.13%. To further analyze the results on the combined method, the results of this study were compared with the KNN method only. The results obtained from the KNN method are lower than the KNN-PSO method. So it can be concluded that the KNN-PSO method is great and robust in air quality classification or prediction.

Abstract

Based on Covid-19 case data as of July 2022, South Sumatra Province has the 15th highest rank out of 34 provinces in Indonesia, with confirmed cases totalling 82,407. This showed that the spread of Covid-19 in South Sumatra was still high. This study aimed to determine the cluster of regions in South Sumatra based on Covid-19 case data. Clustering regions used agglomerative hierarchical method. The process began with standardizing the data, calculating the similarity distance between objects, determining the optimal number of clusters using the Silhouette method, and the last was clustering analysis. This study found that the optimal number of clusters consisted of two clusters. The clustering process starts with objects 2 and objects 4 because these two objects have the closest similarity distance. In conclusion, objects with the closest similarity distance (in one cluster) have the same data movement (fluctuation).

Abstract

Basic literacy that must be developed from elementary school includes reading, writing literacy and numeracy literacy. This service activity introduced a digital library application for the reading literacy program at SDN 11 Indralaya. This service activity aims to introduce digital library applications to improve reading and writing literacy skills and increase reading sources in elementary schools. The method of implementing activities is learning assistance. The activity participants were students in grades III, IV, V, and teachers. Literacy skills were measured using a digital library application. The measurement variables involved in this activity are the variables of story type, reading duration, comprehension level, answering ability and activeness. The results of the activity showed high enthusiasm from students in using the digital library application and an increase in reading interest. The evaluation results also show that there is a high level of literacy comprehension among students, and it generally increases with the grade of the students. An increase in reading duration can have a direct impact on improving students' comprehension and an indirect impact on their answering skills. This indicates an improvement in students' reading literacy. The introduction of digital libraries can be an effective solution in expanding access to quality reading materials while encouraging the literacy skills of elementary school students in this digital era.

Abstract

Background: Burai Village is a riverside fishing community with not high enough levels of formal education and limited use of data in daily decision making. Fishermen typically rely on intuition when planning fishing activities, managing income, and interpreting river conditions. Purpose of the Study: This community service program addressed the need to strengthen statistical literacy as a foundation for data-driven decision making. The program aimed to improve fishermen’s ability to record, organize, and interpret catch data, while increasing awareness of the value of information and simple technology in supporting economic decisions. Methods: A community-based mentoring model was applied, consisting of dialogue sessions, participatory workshops, and hands-on training in data recording. A culturally contextual learning approach linked statistical concepts with local fishing practices. Results: The results demonstrated a measurable improvement in participants’ statistical understanding. The mean score increased from 65 (SD = 21.21) in the pretest to 75 (SD = 10.00) in the posttest, indicating both improved performance and more consistent comprehension among participants. Participants also showed improved ability to interpret tables and graphs and increased interest in using simple digital tools for data documentation.

Abstract

This study is motivated by Indonesia’s efforts to accelerate the achievement of the Indonesia Golden Vision 2045 by optimizing the demographic bonus as a foundation for national development. The success of this vision depends on the availability of competitive and high-quality human resources. However, the growing migration intention among young generations, reflected in the “#KaburAjaDulu” phenomenon, raises concerns about potential brain drain if not properly managed. University students, as future educated human capital, play a strategic role in national development. This research aims to examine students’ perceptions toward migration intention and to develop a probabilistic model using binary logistic regression. A quantitative approach was applied using primary data collected through questionnaires distributed to Universitas Sriwijaya students. The response variable is migration intention, while predictor variables include economic, financial, social, political, career, self-development, quality of life, and public facilities factors. Descriptive analysis shows that students with migration intentions generally have unfavorable perceptions of most predictor variables, while political factors display relatively balanced responses between students with and without migration intentions. The analysis results indicate that several perception variables significantly influence migration intention. The obtained binary logistic regression model is . Financial and self-development factors increase the probability of migration intention, whereas political factors reduce it. These findings highlight financial perception as the dominant predictor influencing students’ intention to migrate abroad and provide empirical evidence to support talent management policies for sustainable national development.
