Abstract

IoT or Internet of Things is a concept in which an object or objects are embedded with technologies such as sensors and software for the purpose of communicating, controlling, connecting and exchanging data through other devices for free, which are connected to the Internet. In this study, measuring instruments were designed, implemented and tested on IoT-based soil using the Fritzing application, implementation was carried out by assembling the Wemos D1 R1 microcontroller component, soil pH sensor, and DS18B20 temperature sensor, and implementing logic programming using Arduino IDE. From the results of testing the implementation of the tool according to the design, the Wemos D1 R1 Microcontroller used in this study has a drawback that it only has an operational voltage of 3.3v, while the Arduino Soil pH Sensor used requires an operational voltage of 5v. In hardware testing, especially in testing the Arduino Soil pH Sensor, it produced an error rate of 18.24%. This large error percentage is because the Arduino Soil Sensor operational voltage requirement of 5v is not met by the Wemos D1 R1 microcontroller which only has an operational voltage of 3.3v.

Abstract

Pemanfaatan lahan pekarangan menjadi lahan produktif sebagai sumber pangan keluarga perlu ditingkatkan. Kelompok ibu-ibu rumah tangga (dasawisma) yang merupakan mitra mampu memanfaatkan lahan pekarangan dengan baik. Dalam pengembangannya, mitra berkeinginan memanfaatkan pekarangan untuk tanaman buah. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah memberikan pelatihan dan edukasi terkait pemanfaatan lahan pekarangan untuk budidaya buah dalam pot (tabulampot). Pelaksanaan kegiatan dimulai pada bulan Juli sampai dengan November 2021 bertempat di rumah RT.01 RW.13 di dusun Rayap Desa Kemuning Lor Kabupaten Jember. Berdasarkan hasil kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa mitra dapat mempraktekkan teknik budidaya buah dalam pot (tabulampot) di pekarangan. Selain itu mitra juga dibekali mengenai jenis dan komponen media tanam yang sesuai SOP untuk pertumbuhan tanaman buah optimal dan berbuah cepat.

Abstract

Jagung pulut dapat digunakan sebagai bahan pangan alternatif pengganti beras dalam upaya diversifikasi pangan. Akan tetapi produksi dan minat masyarakat yang masih rendah dibutuhkan upaya untuk meningkatkan produksi jagung pulut. Salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk meningkatkan produksi jagung pulut adalah dengan perbaikan teknik budidaya seperti pemupukan dan pembumbunan.Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengkaji pengaruh dosis pupuk NPK dan waktu pembumbunan terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman jagung pulut. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok Faktorial (RAKF) yang terdiri dari 2 faktor. Faktor pertama adalah dosis pupuk NPK yang terdapat lima taraf yaitu 100 kg/ha, 150 kg/ha, 200 kg/ha, 250 kg/ha, dan 300 kg/ha. Sedangkan faktor kedua adalah waktu pembumbunan yang terdiri dari dua taraf yaitu pembumbunan 2 kali (14 HST dan 21 HST) dan pembumbunan 3 kali (14 HST, 21 HST dan 28 HST). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan waktu pembumbunan dan dosis pupuk NPK memberikan pengaruh yang tidak nyata pada semua variabel pengataman. Hasil rata-rata produksi jagung pulut dengan pemberian pupuk NPK dan pembumbunan mendapatkan rerata hasil sebesar 16 ton/ha.

Abstract

Indonesia's orange production in 2014 increased from 1.78 million tonnes to 2.16 million tonnes. In 2016 orange production decreased by 2,212 tons. The decline in orange production was caused by weeds. Weeds cause a reduction in crop yields of up to 61%. The research aims to identify the types of weeds and the secondary metabolic potential of dominant weeds in citrus plants. The research results showed 10 families, 23 species and 400 individual weeds. The weed that has the highest SDR value is the grass type Tridax procumbens with a Summed Dominance Ratio (SDR) value of 7.28%. Phytotoxicity in Tridax procumbens leaf plants is P4 with a concentration of 80g/l of 45.33. Wet weight and dry weight affect the P4 concentration with a concentration of 80g/l that most inhibits the growth of Tridax procumbens. Kirinyuh plants contain flavonoids of 250.24 mg/L, phenolics of 265.75 mg/L, and tannins of 242.38 mg/L. The high levels of phenolic compounds in kirinyuh weed have the potential to be used as a bioherbicide.

Abstract

Cowpea (Vigna unguiculata L.) is one of the food crops with relatively high protein content, but its production remains relatively low. The applied cultivation technology is still not optimal, resulting in no significant increase in cowpea production. This study aims to determine the effect of applying various concentrations of Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR) on the growth and production of cowpea. The research was conducted at the Jember State Polytechnic field from July 2024 to October 2024. The study used a Non-Factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 6 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments consisted of PGPR concentrations of 0 ml/L, 18 ml/L, 29 ml/L, 40 ml/L, and 51 ml/L. The observed variables included plant height, stem diameter, number of sample pods, fresh weight of sample pods, fresh weight of pods per plot, dry weight of sample pods, dry weight of pods per plot, dry seed weight per plot, and weight of 100 seeds per plot. The results showed that the PGPR treatment at a concentration of 51 ml/L significantly affected plant height, dry seed weight of samples, and weight of 100 seeds per plot. This is likely due to the role of PGPR as a biofertilizer and biostimulant. However, there were no significant differences in stem diameter, number of sample pods, fresh weight of sample pods, fresh weight of pods per plot, dry weight of sample pods, dry weight of pods per plot, and dry seed weight per plot.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberdayakan perempuan PKK Curah Ancar, Rambipuji, melalui pelatihan pengolahan limbah rumah tangga menjadi pupuk organik cair. Selama ini, sebagian besar limbah rumah tangga belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal, sehingga berpotensi menimbulkan pencemaran lingkungan. Melalui metode pelatihan, pendampingan, dan praktik langsung, peserta dibekali pengetahuan serta keterampilan dalam mengolah limbah organik sederhana menjadi produk pupuk cair yang bermanfaat untuk kebutuhan pertanian dan pekarangan rumah. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan meningkatnya pemahaman peserta mengenai konsep daur ulang limbah, serta kemampuan memproduksi pupuk organik cair secara mandiri. Program ini tidak hanya berkontribusi pada pengurangan limbah rumah tangga, tetapi juga memberikan nilai tambah ekonomi sekaligus mendukung gerakan pertanian berkelanjutan di tingkat rumah tangga.

Abstract

The importance of good nutritional intake has led to a high demand for mung beans. One of the efforts to increase mung bean production through the application of Gamal Leaf Liquid Organic Fertilizer. This study aims to examine the growth response and production of mung beans through the application of Gamal Leaf Liquid Organic Fertilizer. This research was carried out on agricultural land in Antirogo Village, Jember Regency from June to September 2024. This study consists of 6 levels of treatment, namely: Without Gamal Leaf Liquid Organic Fertilizer, Gamal Leaf Liquid Organic Fertilizer 40 ml/l, Gamal Leaf Liquid Organic Fertilizer 60 ml/l, Gamal Leaf Liquid Organic Fertilizer 80 ml/l, Gamal Leaf Liquid Organic Fertilizer 100 ml/l, Gamal Leaf Liquid Organic Fertilizer 120 ml/l. The results of this study showed that the application of Gamal Leaf Liquid Organic Fertilizer 120 ml/l had a real effect on the number of sampled pods (52.25 seeds), the weight of wet pods per sample (44.95 grams) and had a very real effect on the weight of perplot dry seeds (608.5 grams), the weight of sampled dried seeds (41.40 grams).

Abstract

The cultivation technology applied is still not right, so that cowpea production does not increase. This study aims to determine the effect of applying several PGPR concentrations on the growth and production of cowpea. This study was conducted on the land of the Jember State Polytechnic from July 2024 to October 2024. This study used a Non-Factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 6 treatments and 4 replications. Observation data was analysed statistically using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The treatments were PGPR concentrations of 0 ml/L, 18 ml/L, 29 ml/L, 40 ml/L, and 51 ml/L. The results showed that PGPR treatment with a concentration of 51 ml/L showed a difference in plant height, dry seed weight per plant, and 100 seed weight per plot. This is thought to be due to the role of PGPR as a biofertilizer and bio stimulant. Thus, PGPR can provide nutrition and produce growth hormone. This will have an impact on fulfilled the nutritional needs of cowpea, thus affecting the growth and production of cowpea.

Abstract

Cowpea (Vigna unguiculata (L.) Walp) is a legume with good adaptability to various soil types and drought conditions, offering potential as an alternative protein source to soybeans. This study aimed to investigate the effect of goat manure fertilizer and straw mulch on the growth and yield of cowpea. The research was conducted from August to November 2024 at the agricultural field of Politeknik Negeri Jember using a factorial randomized block design with two factors: goat manure dosage (0, 90, 110, 130, and 160 g/plant) and mulch type (silver mulch and straw mulch), with three replications. Growth parameters and yield components such as plant height, number of pods, pod weight, and seed weight were recorded. The results showed that the application of 160 g/plant goat manure significantly increased plant height at 35 days after planting, the number of pods per plant, wet and dry pod weights, and seed yield, while straw mulch had no significant effect on any variable. No interaction effect was observed between the two treatments. The findings suggest that goat manure application is an effective strategy to enhance cowpea productivity under field conditions without the need for straw mulching.
