Abstract

Meaningful learning begins with active student participation in educational activities. However, learning often remains teacher-centered due to limitations in the use of teaching aids, resulting in low student engagement when solving problems. This study aims to improve first-grade students’ ability to solve addition problems in mathematics by applying number pocket media at SD Negeri Godog 1. The research employed Classroom Action Research using the Kemmis and McTaggart model, which includes the stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection at the end of each cycle. The research subjects were 15 first-grade students at SD Negeri Godog 1, Polokarto. Data were collected through observation, testing, and documentation. The results show that student learning outcomes in mathematics, specifically in addition, can be improved through the use of number pocket media. This is evident from the increase in student learning outcomes from seventy-three percent in the first cycle to ninety-three percent in the second cycle. This improvement indicates that the success indicators set in this study were achieved. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of number pocket media has a significant positive impact on first-grade students mathematics learning outcomes in addition material. Furthermore, the study contributed not only to enhancing students mathematical abilities but also to improving teachers creativity in delivering engaging lessons.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate literacy strengthening strategies in Early Childhood Education (ECED) using the CIPPO (Context, Input, Process, Product, Output) model approach. The focus of the research is to analyze the effectiveness of the strategy implementation in creating a learning environment that supports children's literacy development. This research used a qualitative descriptive method. The research subjects consisted of principals and teachers from two PAUD institutions in Kawunganten sub-district, Cilacap district, namely SBB Bustan El Firdaus and SBB Kartini 01. Data collection techniques included semi-structured interviews, direct observation of learning activities and documentation of activities. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing and verification. Data triangulation was conducted to ensure the validity of the results. The results showed that the literacy reinforcement strategy was well implemented. PAUD institutions are able to create a text-rich, social-emotionally supportive environment and a conducive academic environment. However, there are two input aspects related to human resources and one output aspect that still need improvement, especially in involving the home and community as part of the literacy ecosystem. The implications of this study suggest that the success of literacy programs in early childhood education depends not only on classroom strategies but also on the active involvement of parents and communities. The findings can serve as a basis for developing more holistic education policies and practices in the future.

Abstract

Writing skills are an indirect communication activity in the form of activities to express ideas, thoughts, and feelings in written form by paying attention to three basic components, opening, content, closing which must go through a regular practice process. Writing skills are important for students as a foundation in learning Indonesian and other subjects at the school level above. However, the facts in the field show that students' writing skills are still low. Students often study the science of types of writing and grammar, but they lack practice in writing short stories. For this reason, an outdoor learning method was tried to improve writing skills in grade IV elementary school students. Learning was carried out for three meetings at three different schools. The implementation began by providing a writing skills questionnaire (pre-test) and after the completion of the third meeting, students were given writing skills questionnaire questions (post-test) to measure the achievement of students' writing skills. The learning process uses the syntax of the outdoor learning method. The results of the study showed that students' writing skills improved after participating in learning. Students were able to create stories according to ideas, the content of the stories produced was well organized, the grammar used met the writing procedures, the language structure was well structured, the use of good and correct spelling and writing.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk membina tim gerak jalan Karang Taruna RT 03 RW 09 Gajahmungkur Kota Semarang dengan pendekatan berbasis nilai estetika dan kearifan lokal. Kegiatan dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya integrasi budaya lokal dan minimnya pelatihan teknis dalam lomba gerak jalan tahunan dalam rangka peringatan HUT RI. Tim pengabdian dari Program Studi Desain Komunikasi Visual Universitas Selamat Sri melakukan serangkaian pelatihan teknis, workshop visual, dan penguatan konsep budaya lokal sebagai bentuk partisipasi aktif dalam pelestarian budaya dan pengembangan kapasitas komunitas. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan kualitas penampilan tim, pemahaman peserta terhadap nilai budaya, serta antusiasme warga dalam kegiatan berbasis seni dan tradisi lokal. Kegiatan ini menjadi model pemberdayaan masyarakat melalui media visual dan ekspresi budaya

Abstract

This study explores the aesthetic representation of tolerance and nationalism as character values embedded in the visual elements of Chinese-motif Batik Lasem. As a cultural artifact rooted in a history of intercultural exchange, Batik Lasem reflects not only artistic beauty but also deep social and moral meanings. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, this research employs visual analysis to examine the formal elements—such as color, shape, composition, and symbolism—found in selected Chinese-influenced Batik Lasem patterns. The findings reveal that the fusion of Chinese and Javanese visual motifs embodies messages of cultural harmony, mutual respect, and national identity. The aesthetic choices made by artisans—ranging from symbolic flora and fauna to harmonious compositions—serve as a medium to communicate values of tolerance and national pride. This study contributes to the field of visual communication design by demonstrating how traditional art forms can function as effective channels for character education and interethnic understanding through visual aesthetics.

Abstract

Program Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) berbasis ekoteologi di Desa Mulyasari dilaksanakan sebagai bentuk pengabdian masyarakat yang mengintegrasikan nilai keagamaan, sosial, dan lingkungan. Kegiatan ini dirancang untuk menumbuhkan kesadaran masyarakat dalam menjaga kelestarian alam melalui pendekatan religius dan edukatif. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi sebagai teknik pengumpulan data. Berbagai program inovatif diterapkan, antara lain Gerakan Sedekah Sampah Islami (GRADASI), Eco-Brick, Eco-Print, Plang Edu-Ekologi, Gerakan Cinta Lingkungan, Lokakarya Kolase, Biopori, Finger Painting, hingga pembelajaran huruf hijaiyah berbasis alam. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan partisipasi masyarakat, khususnya dalam pengelolaan sampah, penghijauan, serta penguatan karakter anak melalui seni dan edukasi lingkungan. Dengan demikian, Kuliah Kerja Nyata ( KKN ) berbasis ekoteologi tidak hanya berkontribusi pada solusi lingkungan, tetapi juga memperkuat nilai spiritual, sosial, dan kemandirian masyarakat desa.

Abstract

Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk sosialisai mengenai motivasi dan etos kerja agar menjadi seorang yang professional kepada peserta. Pendekatan yang dilakukan menggunakan metode ceramah materi dan simulasi pengenalan dunia kerja agar menjadi professional. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini diharapkan dapat wawasan dan pengetahuan kepada peserta Dinas Perindustrian dan Tenaga Kerja Kabupaten Kendal sehingga peserta memahami betapa pentingnya motivasi dan etos kerja terutama dalam dunia kerja untuk meningkatkan diri di masa datang menjadi seorang professional.
