Abstract

This research aims to discuss the extent to which politeness strategies are applied by teachers and students in classroom interactions and to analyze the types of politeness maxims based on the theory proposed by Geoffrey Leech. The method used in this research is qualitative with a descriptive approach. The research subjects involved are 1st-grade elementary school students, educators, educational staff, and parents of students at SDI Al Uswah Pamekasan. The findings of this research consist of the distribution of maxims analyzed based on Leech's politeness principles theory, with the percentage of usage of politeness principles and the 6 maxims of the politeness principle of tact ranking highest in their usage in conversations between teachers and students during the course of learning. The six maxims proposed by Leech include the maxim of tact, the maxim of generosity, the maxim of praise, the maxim of modesty, the maxim of agreement, and the maxim of sympathy. The conclusion of this research is that each maxim proposed by Leech can be found in the interaction process between teachers and students, with language delivery based on the principle of politeness.

Abstract

This research aims to examine how the concept of child-friendly education can be applied within the family environment based on the guidance found in Surah Al-Baqarah verse 133. Child-friendly education is an approach that prioritizes the well-being and development of children, creating a safe, supportive environment that facilitates their maximum potential. In Islam, the family plays a vital role in shaping the character and fundamental values of children. The research methodology used is al-tafsir al-maudhu'i, which begins by inventorying the Quranic verses on the importance of child-friendly education within the family. Child-friendly education in the family can be implemented through: 1) Balanced communication between parents and children; 2) The application of non-violent discipline; and 3) The development of positive character in children. Its relevance to children's education includes the value system, caregiving functions, learning materials, and teaching methodologies. The usefulness of this research lies in providing a positive contribution to the concept of early childhood education, serving as a guide for educating children to become righteous and morally upright, creating a harmonious family, and fostering love and affection.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine how the effect of structured movement session in natural outdoor on the gross motor skill of children, especially activities in the natural outdoor. The focus of the discussion in this study were revealed and analyzed the locomotor skills in children 5 to 6 years old of preschool, and compared of indoor structured play and natural outdoor free play on the locomotor skill of preschool children. The subjects were 2 schools with indoor structured play and another school with natural outdoor free play. Sixty children (35 boys and 25 girls) served as subjects. Data obtained through observation, documentation and then the pefomance a chi-square test was used to data analyze, to determine the difference in a locomotor skill between in an indoor structured play and natural outdoor free play of preschool children. The results of this study showed that there is no significant difference between the locomotor skills of children in indoor structured play or outdoor free play. A t-test score for independent sample was not significant (-2.182 < 0.05)(t = -2.182, df = 58, p = .86), its mean there was no difference in a locomotor skill between in a indoor structured play and natural outdoor free play. This allows for consideration for parents, practitioners, and academics in delivering stimulation and gross motor activities on children.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the effectiveness of picture hook media in improving the reading skills of young children aged 5-6 years by using picture hook media at RA AS-AS-Sholihin. This research uses the Kemmis and Mc classroom action research model. Taggart. This research was carried out in January 2023 for three cycles. The subjects of this research were 18 RA AS-Sholihin group B students. The data collection techniques used are observation, tests, documentation, and interviews. Meanwhile, research instruments use observation sheets, tests, and documentation. The results showed that there was an increase in reading skills in early childhood in the B RA AS-Sholihin group by using hook pictures as media. This increase can be seen from the results of observations which increase in each cycle. The average value obtained in cycle I reached 39%, in cycle II it reached 61%, and in cycle III it reached 89%. The results of this research show that the use of picture hook media can improve children's reading abilities. Based on the statement above, the researcher concluded that the use of hook pictures in As-Sholihin RA was said to be very influential in children's learning processes. Namely by using picture hook media the learning atmosphere is more enjoyable, and children are more interested in learning to read so that it can help improve reading skills.
