Abstract

This article embarks on a captivating journey that delves deep into the intricate relationship between the profound local wisdom expressed in the poetic works of Muhammad Abdullah Al-Qadi and the vibrant coffee culture of Saudi Arabia. Beyond being a beverage of cultural significance, coffee holds a pivotal role in shaping the sustainable future of Saudi Arabia's agricultural practices and cultural heritage. Al-Qadi's poetic masterpiece, "Al-Qahwa" serves as a testament to the enduring allure of coffee in Arab culture, while artfully capturing the very essence of Saudi Arabia's rich coffee heritage in coffee value chain. Through a meticulous exploration of Al-Qadi's evocative verses and their deeply resonant impact on the people of Saudi Arabia, this article uncovers the profound connection between coffee, sustainability, and the tapestry of human emotions, communal bonds, and personal relationships. Furthermore, it acknowledges Al-Qadi's indelible influence on subsequent poets and the poem's remarkable role in shaping the literary landscape. Lastly, this article highlights the importance of sustaining Saudi Arabia's coffee culture, emphasizing the need for responsible agricultural practices and cultural preservation efforts.

Abstract

This study investigates the culture of specialty coffee and the habit of not adding sugar to coffee, focusing on its impact on sensory perception, public health, and cancer prevention. The study utilizes a qualitative method, conducting in-depth interviews with industry professionals in Saudi Arabia. It covers the journey of specialty coffee from its origin in Jazan, stressing the preservation of distinct flavors and qualities. The study also discusses the potential health advantages of lowering sugar intake through specialty coffee, taking into account geographical variations in sugar consumption trends and the availability of specialty coffee. The necessity of targeted initiatives and policies to promote sugar-free coffee options is underlined. The study also investigates the link between sugar avoidance, cancer prevention, and pertinent theoretical frameworks. Baristas' and coffeepreneurs' opinions reflect a common awareness of the sensory experience and the need of keeping the distinctive flavors of specialty coffee. Overall, the study demonstrates the potential of sugar-free specialty coffee to benefit public health and develop a healthy culture.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji kelezatan budaya Unaizah, sebuah kota di Al Qassim, Arab Saudi, dengan fokus pada daya tarik budaya, keaslian, dan wisata kuliner. Memahami budaya Unaizah sangat penting untuk mengembangkan kesadaran dan rasa hormat terhadap budaya pribadi dan global, serta mendorong toleransi dan harmoni dalam masyarakat yang beragam. Melestarikan keragaman budaya membantu mencapai tujuan global dalam mengakui sejarah dan identitas budaya. Kajian terhadap lingkungan budaya Unaizah meningkatkan interaksi dan kolaborasi antarbudaya dengan mendorong keterbukaan pikiran, empati, dan kemampuan mengatasi permasalahan global. Daya tarik budaya Unaizah juga mendorong praktik wisata berkelanjutan, yang bermanfaat bagi perekonomian lokal. Individu yang terlibat dengan budaya Unaizah secara aktif berkontribusi terhadap inklusivitas, pelestarian keragaman, komunikasi antar budaya, dan pariwisata berkelanjutan, sehingga membentuk masa depan yang lebih cerah dan saling terhubung. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif seperti kunjungan lapangan, observasi, wawancara, dan analisis tematik. Temuan ini menyoroti keaslian budaya Unaizah, tradisi kuliner, dan peran pendidikan dalam menciptakan daya tarik budaya dan pariwisata berkelanjutan. Warisan budaya, budaya kuliner, dan aktivitas pendidikan Unaizah yang kuat menempatkannya sebagai destinasi yang sejalan dengan aspirasi pembangunan berkelanjutan global.
