Abstract

Pada pembelajaran matematika hasil belajar siswa kurang optimal, yang berdampak pula pada prestasi belajar siswa. Adanya media pembelajaran yang digunakan diharapkan dapat menambah motivasi siswa dalam proses belajar. Media yang bisa digunakan yakni dengan memanfaatkan power point. Tujuan dari penelitian yakni untuk mengetahui pengaruh dan perbedaan penggunaan media PowerPoint terhadap prestasi belajar siswa kelas XI APHP di SMK NU Sunan Ampel Poncokusumo. Terdapat dua kelas yang digunakan yakni XI APHP 1 sebanyak 25 siswa sebagai kelas eksperimen dan XI APHP 2 sebanyak 30 siswa sebagai kelas kontrol. Penggalian data menggunakan observasi dan tes. Analisis data menggunakan uji independent sampel T-test. Hasil penelitian diperoleh nilai signifikansi 0,001 < 0,05, yang artinya bahwa terdapat pengaruh penggunaan media PowerPoint terhadap prestasi belajar matematika siswa, yang dimana kelas dengan pembelajaran menggunakan media PowerPoint prestasi belajarnya lebih baik daripada pembelajaran yang tidak menggunakan media PowerPoint.

Abstract

Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan bahwa banyak siswa kelas V SDN 1 Bululawang kurang antusias dalam pembelajaran matematika. Diperlihatkan oleh hasil belajar matematika siswa 75% yang belum tuntas. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian penelitian tindakan kelas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pembelajaran Discovery Learning dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas V dalam pelajaran matematika materi bangun ruang. Penelitian ini melibatkan guru dan siswa, serta teknik pengumpulan datanya terdiri dari tes dan analisis observasi manajemen pembelajaran guru. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran discovery dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dalam materi bangun ruang matematika. Hasil belajar siswa dari siklus pertama diperoleh: 23 siswa mencapai tuntas (70,3%) dan 6 siswa tidak tuntas (29,7%). Pada siklus kedua, ada 26 siswa yang tuntas (89,2%), sedangkan yang tidak tuntas ada 3 siswa (10,02%).

Abstract

Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah (1) hambatan guru dalam proses pembelajaran matematika dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif (2) alternatif solusi dari hambatan yang dihadapi guru dalam pembelajaran matematika dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian yakni 2 guru matematika dan 2 siswa. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) hambatan yang dihadapi meliputi guru kesulitan memilih model pembelajaran kooperatif yang sesuai, guru kesulitan dalam meningkatkan motivasi dan minat belajar siswa. Hambatan yang dialami siswa meliputi rendahnya keberanian siswa untuk bertanya kepada guru, mengemukakan ide maupun menyanggah pendapat, mengerjakan soal ke depan tanpa ditunjuk guru. (2) alternatif solusi dari hambatan yang dihadapi guru meliputi upaya penyesuaian dengan perkembangan pemahaman tentang Kurikulum 2013 revisi, guru sebaiknya membuat modul, guru harus kreatif, inovatif sehingga pembelajaran dapat berlangsung dengan baik.

Abstract

The ability of mathematical representation is needed by students to communicate mathematical ideas. However, the student's representation ability is still not optimal, especially in geometry material. The purpose of this study is to describe the representational abilities of students of SMP NU Sunan Ampel in solving geometrical contextual problems. The study was conducted on 19 students at SMP NU Sunan Ampel Poncokusumo. Data was collected through tests and interviews. The indicators of representation ability used are visual representation, symbolic, and verbal. The results of the research are the level of student representation ability as much as 53% in the low category, as much as 42% in the medium category, and as much as 5% in the high category. Students with high representation ability can fulfill the indicators of visual, symbolic, and verbal representation well according to their abilities. Students with moderate representational abilities can meet the indicators of symbolic representation, but there are still errors in writing and calculations. Students with low representation ability have not reached the three indicators of representational ability well as a whole according to their abilities. It is hoped that the teacher can provide practice questions to students by requiring students to describe and write down the mathematical model in detail and completely. In addition, the teacher can also introduce various forms of flat shapes in contextual problems so that students can be trained to solve contextual problems related to flat shapes.BAHASA INDONESIA ABSTRACT: Kemampuan representasi matematika sangatlah dibutuhkan oleh siswa untuk mengkomunikasikan ide matematika. Namun, kemampuan representasi siswa masih belum optimal khususnya pada materi geometri. Tujuan penelitan ini mendeksripsikan kemampuan representasi siswa SMP NU Sunan Ampel dalam menyelesaikan masalah kontekstual geometri. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada 19 siswa di SMP NU Sunan Ampel Poncokusumo. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes dan wawancara. Indikator kemampuan representasi yakni representasi visual, simbolik, dan verbal. Hasil penelitian yakni tingkat kemampuan representasi siswa sebanyak 53% pada kategori rendah, sebanyak 42% pada kategori sedang, dan sebanyak 5% pada kategori tinggi. Siswa kemampuan representasi tinggi dapat memenuhi indikator representasi visual, simbolik, dan verbal dengan baik sesuai kemampuannya. Siswa kemampuan representasi sedang dapat memenuhi indikator representasi simbolik, namun masih terdapat kesalahan penulisan dan perhitungan. Siswa kemampuan representasi rendah belum mencapai ketiga indikator kemampuan representasi dengan baik secara keseluruhan sesuai dengan kemampuannya. Harapannya guru dapat memberikan latihan soal kepada siswa dengan mewajibkan siswa menggambarkan dan menuliskan model matematikanya secara detail dan lengkap. Selain itu, guru juga dapat memperkenalkan berbagai bentuk bangun datar dalam masalah kontekstual agar siswa dapat terlatih menyelesaikan masalah kontekstual yang berkaitan dengan bangun datar.

Abstract

Students lack numeracy literacy due to monotonous learning and lack of media and learning resources that facilitate them. The purpose of this research is to develop a reality-based LKPD that is valid, effective, and practical in improving students' numeracy skills. Developmental research using the ADDIE model was conducted at MTs Ibnu Hajar Bulupitu. The results showed that the LKPD was very valid with a score of 84.7%. Practicality scores from teacher response questionnaires were 92.6% and student response questionnaires were 89.6%. This also shows that the realistically based LKPD is in a very practical category. The developed LKPD obtained paired sample T-test results of 0.000 <0.05, which means that there are differences in students' numeracy skills before and after the application of LKPD, and LKPD is effectively used to improve students' numeracy skills. BAHASA INDONESIA ABSTRACT: Siswa kurang dalam literasi numerasi karena pembelajaran yang monoton dan kekurangan media dan sumber belajar yang memfasilitasi mereka. Tujuan penelitian ini yakni untuk menghasilkan LKPD berbasis realistik yang valid, efektif, dan praktis dalam meningkatkan kemampuan literasi numerasi siswa. Penelitian pengembangan dengan model ADDIE dilakukan di MTs Ibnu Hajar Bulupitu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa LKPD sudah sangat valid dengan skor 84,7%. Hasil uji kepraktisan dari angket respon guru sebesar 92,6% dan angket respon siswa sebesar 89,6%. Hal ini juga menunjukkan bahwa LKPD berbasis realistik masuk dalam kategori yang sangat praktis. LKPD yang dikembangkan diperoleh hasil Uji Paired Sampel T-Test 0,000 < 0,05 artinya terdapat perbedaan kemampuan literasi numerasi siswa sebelum dengan sesudah pengaplikasian LKPD dan LKPD efektif digunakan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi numerasi.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian yakni untuk mendeskripsikan kesalahan siswa dalam memecahkan masalah kontekstual program linear menurut Teori Newman ditinjau berdasarkan jenis kelamin. Penelitian ini termasuk kualitatif deskriptif. Subjek penelitian ini 21 siswa perempuan dan 10 siswa laki-laki kelas XI IPA MA Mambaul Ulum. Pengumpulan data melalui tes satu masalah dan wawancara terstruktur. Validasi instrumen dilaksanakan kepada dosen ahli. Analisis data menggunakan reduksi data, penyajian dan penarikan kesimpulan, sedangkan pengecekan keabsahan data menerapkan triangulasi teknik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kesalahan siswa perempuan berada pada kategori cukup sedangkan siswa laki-laki berada pada kategori sangat tinggi. Kesalahan paling tinggi siswa perempuan pada kesalahan perhitungan dan penulisan jawaban, sedangkan siswa laki-laki paling tinggi pada kesalahan transformasi. Siswa laki-laki melakukan kesalahan pada semua indikator. Tidak ada siswa perempuan dengan kesalahan membaca. Guru dapat membiasakan permasalahan matematika kontekstual kepada siswa agar terbiasa dan meminimalisir kesalahan. Penelitian terbatas pada analisis kesalahan siswa, untuk penelitian selanjutnya dapat dilakukan strategi untuk meminimalisir kesalahan siswa. The aim of this research is to describe students’ errors in solving linear programmes contextual problems according to Newman's Theory based on gender. This research is descriptive qualitative. The subjects of this research were 21 female students and 10 male students of class XI IPA MA Mambaul Ulum. Data were collected through one problem test and structured interview. Instrument validation was carried out to expert lecturers. Steps in data analysis are data reduction, presentation and conclusion drawing, while data validity test applied triangulation technique. The results showed that the average percentage of female students' errors was a moderate category, while male students were classified as very high. The highest error of female students in calculation errors and answer writing, while male students are highest in transformation errors. Male students made errors in all indicators. There were no female students with reading errors. Teachers can familiarise contextual mathematics problems to students to get used to and minimise errors. The research is limited to analysing student errors, for further research, strategies can be carried out to minimize student errors.

Abstract

Learning that relates material to the context of students' lives and culture will make it easier for students to interpret learning. One of the sciences that can connect education and culture is ethnomathematics. Education is important in the process of cultural inheritance and culture is important to be implemented in learning. The cultural heritage of Singosari Kingdom is in the form of artifacts and also human activities. The influence of local culture adapts the temple, so the design of temples in Indonesia varies. This research aims to explore and describe the concept of geometry that is applied and developed in the decorative ornaments of Kidal Temple. The type of research used is qualitative research with an ethnographic approach. Data will be collected through interviews, observation and documentation. The data analysis techniques used are domain analysis and taxonomy analysis. The results showed the existence of the concept of mathematical geometry applied to the architecture of the Kidal Temple building. The ornaments that decorate Kidal Temple implement mathematical concepts. The mathematical concept in the ornament represents the concept of flat shapes in the geometric material. The concept of rectangular and circular flat shapes is found in the medallion ornaments. The concept of triangular flat geometry is found in the tumpal ornament on the roof of the temple, then in the sulur or floral ornament found at the foot of the temple, the concept of reflection or mirroring of the x-axis is applied.

Abstract

This study aims to explore ethnomathematics concepts in "kue lumpur" (mud cake) sold at Gondanglegi Market, Malang. The research employs an ethnographic method with a qualitative approach. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation, focusing on mathematical elements found in the shape and production process of "kue lumpur." The results reveal that the cake contains geometric concepts, such as circular shapes and their properties, as well as the concept of a system of linear equations with two variables (SPLDV) related to raw materials, production quantity, costs, and profits. This study emphasizes the importance of integrating local culture into mathematics education through ethnomathematics to provide more relevant and applicable learning experiences for students while preserving cultural heritage

Abstract

This study explored the use of two-dimensional and three-dimensional geometric concepts in the patterns and shapes of the Klenteng Dewi Kwan Im and Tie Kong at Pesarean Gunung Kawi. This type of research is qualitative research with an ethnographic approach. The subjects in this study were the caretakers and administrators of Pesarean Gunung Kawi. The data collection techniques used in this study were observation, interview, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the use of geometric concepts contained in the patterns and shapes of the Klenteng Dewi Kwan Im and Tie Kong buildings are Rectangle, Cube, Sphere, Quadrilateral Pyramid, Octagonal Prism, and Cylinder. The meaning contained in the patterns and shapes of the building has its meaning and philosophy according to the expectations based on the Chinese people's outlook on life.

Abstract

Mathematical creative thinking involves using diverse ideas to solve problems, generating unique solutions, and developing high-level cognitive skills. The purpose of this research is to describe the mathematical creative thinking ability of students of SMAN 1 Bantur Malang by using indicators consisting of three indicators, including (a) fluency, (b) flexibility, and (c) novelty. This research method is descriptive qualitative with the research subjects are 20 grade X students. Data collection was done through tests and interviews. The instruments used in this study were two questions about exponent material. The results of the analysis show that the potential of students' mathematical thinking and students' creative thinking is still not optimal. The percentage of students who can fulfill the fluency indicator is 50% which is in the low category, while the percentage of students who can fulfill the flexibility indicator is 25% and the novelty indicator is 5% which is in the very low category. The lowest indicator that can be fulfilled by students is the novelty indicator, while the highest indicator that can be fulfilled by students is the fluency indicator.  Teachers are advised to familiarize students with solving problems that have different answers and ways/strategies of solving them so that creative thinking skills can be trained.
