Abstract

Introduction: Reducing the incidence of child marriage is a component of the national medium-term plan (RPJMN) for 2020-2024, which is targeted to fall to 8.74% in 2024, and 6.94% in 2030. The prevalence of child marriage in Central Sulawesi is 31.91% and Sigi Regency has the third highest prevalence of child marriage, namely aged 10-14 years (0.04%) and aged 15-19 years (2.58%). Aims: To evaluate the impact of providing health education via comic media on adolescent knowledge regarding the age of marriage at SMA Negeri 1 Sigi. Method: The design applied in this research was experimental with pretest-posttest and a control group setup. Twenty-six  participants were chosen through random sampling and allocated to either the intervention group (comic media education) or the control group (leaflet media education). The research instrument utilized was a questionnaire. Data analysis was conducted using the Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney tests. Results: This study shows that, in the control group, knowledge before education was mostly in the sufficient category (42%) and after education increased to good category (74.2%). Meanwhile, in the intervention group, before education, the majority was in the poor category (35.5%) and after education the majority was in the good category (96.8%), with a p value of 0.000 <0.05. Conclusion: Using comics proves more efficacious in enhancing teenagers' knowledge compared to utilizing leaflets. It is hoped that schools and health centers can collaborate to establish youth counseling centers as a platform for counseling students and can utilize comics as one of the educational media.

Abstract

Indonesia has a relatively high threat of disasters, including floods that result in human casualties, environmental damage, property losses, and psychological impacts. Prevention efforts need to be carried out, namely mitigation and preparedness. Central Sulawesi Province is the 9th out of 10 provinces in Indonesia that are often affected by disasters. Sigi Regency is a flood-prone area. In 2021, there have been eight floods in Rogo and Wisolo villages. Health workers are important and technical implementers before, during, and after disasters. The purpose of this study is to look at the factors that affect the preparedness of health workers in dealing with flood disasters at the Baluase Health Center. Analytical survey research with a cross-sectional approach. The sample is all health workers at the Baluase Health Center, totaling 44 people. The independent variables are age, gender, length of work, level of education, knowledge, and attitude. In contrast, the dependent variable is the preparedness of health workers in dealing with flood disaster situations. Questionnaires are used in primary data collection. The multivariate analysis of logistic regression variables in step 5 found a relationship between age (p equals 0.028), attitude (p equals 0.052), and preparedness of health workers in dealing with flood disasters. It is hoped that the increase in preparedness for health workers will continue to be improved to reduce the post-disaster impact.

Abstract

Stunting is one of the health issues. Prevention efforts for stunting include interventions targeted at various life stages, such as adolescence and preconception. The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of stunting prevention cards in enhancing the knowledge of adolescent girls to prevent stunting. Method: This study employed a Pre-Experimental Design with a One Group Pretest–Posttest Design, involving a sample size of 50 respondents. Data were collected using a knowledge questionnaire consisting of 10 items, each with 4 multiple-choice answer categories, with a maximum score of 100 and a minimum score of 10. The questionnaire was distributed to all respondents before the game, and the time for questionnaire completion was 20–25 minutes (pre-test). Subsequently, respondents were given 10 minutes to read the explanations of categories found on the stunting prevention cards. Afterward, a game lasting 1 hour was conducted, followed by a question and answer session lasting 25–30 minutes. Finally, respondents were given a 30-minute break before being provided with the same questionnaire again, with a questionnaire completion time of 25–30 minutes (post-test). Data were processed and analyzed univariately and bivariate using the T-test. The research results were then presented in tables and narrative form. Result: The statistical test yielded a p-value of 0.000 or p < 0.05. This indicates that the stunting prevention cards significantly influenced the increase in the knowledge level of adolescent girls. Conclusion: The higher the level of knowledge among adolescents, the better they are at preventing stunting.
