Abstract

This study aims to determine the physical fitness level of fifth-grade students at SDN Pojok 2 Kota Kediri through a 1000-meter running test. A descriptive quantitative approach was used with a total sample of 30 students, consisting of 17 boys and 13 girls. The results showed that most students fell into the "poor" and "very poor" fitness categories. Male students were mostly in the "poor" category (47.1%) with an average time of 6.21 minutes, while female students were predominantly in the "very poor" category (76.9%) with an average time of 10.2 minutes. Only a few students reached the "fair" and "good" categories, and none achieved the "very good" category. These findings indicate that students’ physical fitness, especially cardiovascular endurance, is still low. Therefore, a structured, enjoyable, and inclusive fitness program is necessary to enhance student participation, particularly among girls. This study is expected to serve as a reference for PE teachers and schools in designing effective and sustainable strategies to improve students’ physical fitness.

Abstract

Jelly confections represent promising nutraceutical products by incorporating bioactive compounds with health-promoting properties. Soursop leaves (Annona muricata L.) are recognized as a potential source of antioxidant and antibacterial agents, yet their application in functional foods remains limited. This study evaluated the antioxidant activity of soursop leaf jelly confections prepared with different gel matrix combinations. Formulation optimization was carried out using three gel matrices, namely carrageenan: agar (9:6), carrageenan: konjac (5:1), and konjac: agar (7:3). Antioxidant activity was assessed by the 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging assay using a microplate reader spectrophotometer. The results demonstrated IC₅₀ values of 28.95 µg/mL for carrageenan: agar, 8.82 µg/mL for carrageenan: konjac, and 30.33 µg/mL for konjac: agar formulations. Among these, the carrageenan: konjac (5:1) formulation exhibited the most potent antioxidant activity, indicating its potential for developing functional jelly-based nutraceuticals.

Abstract

Peningkatan kebutuhan pangan seiring pertumbuhan populasi menuntut penerapan teknologi yang mampu meningkatkan efisiensi dalam sektor pertanian, khususnya dalam pengelolaan penyiraman tanaman. Pada praktiknya, penyiraman tanaman pada skala rumah tangga maupun pertanian kecil masih banyak dilakukan secara manual sehingga kurang efisien, berpotensi menyebabkan pemborosan air, serta sulit menjaga kestabilan kelembaban tanah. Beberapa penelitian sebelumnya telah mengembangkan sistem irigasi otomatis berbasis mikrokontroler maupun Internet of Things (IoT). Namun, sebagian sistem tersebut masih memiliki keterbatasan, seperti kompleksitas perangkat, kebutuhan jaringan internet, serta biaya implementasi yang relatif tinggi. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan merancang sistem penyiraman tanaman otomatis yang sederhana, efisien, dan mudah diterapkan menggunakan mikrokontroler Arduino Nano dan sensor kelembaban tanah (soil moisture sensor).Metode penelitian yang digunakan meliputi tahap perancangan perangkat keras, pengembangan perangkat lunak menggunakan Arduino IDE dengan bahasa C/C++, serta pengujian sistem melalui pengukuran nilai kelembaban tanah pada beberapa kondisi media tanam. Sensor menghasilkan data analog dengan rentang 0–1023 ADC yang kemudian dikonversi menjadi persentase kelembaban tanah menggunakan fungsi mapping. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa kondisi tanah kering memiliki nilai rata-rata sebesar 780 ADC (≈23% kelembaban), kondisi lembab sebesar 520 ADC (≈49%), dan kondisi basah sebesar 360 ADC (≈65%). Sistem menggunakan nilai ambang batas (threshold) sebesar 400 ADC untuk mengontrol proses penyiraman.Ketika nilai sensor melebihi ambang batas, relay akan mengaktifkan pompa air sehingga proses penyiraman berlangsung secara otomatis, sedangkan ketika kelembaban tanah telah tercapai, sistem akan mematikan pompa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sistem mampu bekerja secara stabil dan responsif serta berpotensi meningkatkan efisiensi penggunaan air hingga sekitar 30% dibandingkan metode penyiraman manual. Kontribusi penelitian ini adalah menghasilkan sistem penyiraman otomatis yang sederhana, berbiaya rendah, dan mudah diterapkan untuk mendukung konsep smart farming pada skala rumah tangga maupun pertanian kecil.
