Abstract

This research aims to analyze the steps for using the sociodrama method to increase students’ active learning in elementary school. This research is based on low learning activity, students tend to be quiet and lack enthusiasm during the learning process. Therefore, the importance of learning methods that are interesting and not boring. This research focuses on the steps of the sociodrama method which include 1) determining the theme, 2) determining the role/actor, 3) preparing the role, 4) preparing the audience (observer), 5) implementing sociodrama, and 6) Follow up. This research method uses descriptive qualitative research with a library study type. The data collection technique uses documentation with primary data sources in the form of 20 articles. The results of this research found that there were 13 articles that explained the steps of the sociodrama method and 7 other articles did not explain the steps of the sociodrama method. Based on this analysis, researchers found that the sociodrama method was able to increase students’ active learning. Apart from that, the application of the sociodrama method is also very effective in improving speaking skills, honing students’ creativity, fostering a spirit of solidarity and fostering cooperation between students.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Project Based Learning   model on the writing skills of procedural texts of grade IV students of SDN 5 Rasau Jaya. The research method used is a quantitative method with the design used, namely One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The independent variable (X) in this study is the Project Based Learning model, while the dependent variable (Y) is the skill of writing procedure texts. The population included in this study is grade IV students at Sekolah SD Negeri 5 Rasau Jaya. The sample in this study was class IV B students totaling 19 people, consisting of 12 male students and 7 female students. The technique used to determine the class for this study is purposive sampling or purposeful samples. The data collection instruments used in this study were observation sheets and procedure text writing skills assessment sheets. Based on the results of data analysis, it was found that the difference in the average pretest score in this study was 64.14 while the average posttest score was 72,68. Hypothesis testing using the Wilcoxon Test, because based on the results of the Normality Test the data obtained are abnormally distributed. The result of the Wilcoxon Test is 0.00 which means that the significant level states that the is accepted. Abstract

This study aims to determine the literal reading comprehension skills of grade V students of SD Negeri 1 Rasau Jaya. The research method used is qualitative method with descriptive qualitative approach. The population included in this study is grade V students at Sekolah SD Negeri 1 Rasau Jaya. The sample in this study was class V A students totaling 27 people, consisting of 15 male students and 12 female students. The technique used for classroom research is the test method. The data collection instruments used in this study were question sheets and literacy comprehension reading skills assessment sheets. Based on the results of data analysis that researchers have done, the results of literal comprehension reading skills in high grades of SD Negeri 1 Rasau Jaya using the test method, namely, 1) the main idea aspect obtained an average score of 74.07 and an average success percentage score of 74%, 2) the supporting idea aspect obtained an average score of 30.37 and an average success percentage score of 30%, 3) the aspect of understanding information (5W+1H) obtained an average score of 79.62% and an average success percentage score of 79%.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the reading skills of students in the early grades of SDN 13 Sungai Pinyuh. This study focuses on the description of students' reading skills in the early grades which refers to how to measure students' reading skills in the early grades using an instrument called EGRA (Early Grade Reading Assessment). The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The data source used is the primary data source that has passed the EGRA test. The data collection technique used was the EGRA test. The instrument used is the EGRA test. The data analysis technique used is non-statistical analysis by looking for percentages, then the results are described. Checking the validity of the data findings used is by using the EGRA test which has been proven valid to collect the initial data obtained which is then strengthened by recording student scores from the test results. Based on the results of the research that the researchers have done, the results of students' reading skills in the early grades of SDN 13 Sungai Pinyuh used the EGRA test, namely, 1) aspects of recognizing letters, obtaining an average score of 98.1% and an average score of 100% percentage of success, 2) aspects of reading meaningful words, obtaining an average score of 86.5% and an average percentage score of 89%, 3) aspects of reading meaningless words, obtaining an average score of 80.5% and the average percentage score of success is 89%, 4) aspects of aloud reading fluency and reading comprehension, obtaining an average percentage score of 56% and an average percentage success score of 81.4%. 5) aspects of listening (listening comprehension), obtaining an average percentage score of 70% and an average success percentage score of 92.5%.

Abstract

This study aims to decsribe the writing skilss of grade I students of SDN 5 Sungai Raya, which focuse on four indicators, namely (1) readabiliti of writing, (2) speed in writing, (3) accuracy of writing letters, and (4) accurate of how to hold pencil. The research methode used is qualitative methode, while the type of research used is descriptive. The research subjects were first grade student of DSN 5 Sungai Raya totaling 4 people, 2 boys and 2 girls. The techniques used in this research are test, observation, and documentation tehcniques, with test question sheets, observation guidelines, and analysis guidelines as research instruments. The result of the study indicate that the writing skilss of first grade students ats SDN 5 Sungai Raya are in the good category. The students’ writing s generaly legible, although there are still some errors such as incomplete letters, incorrect letters, and letters that are not in the correct position. Writing speed varies, with a time of 4 minutes and 47 seconds from the ideal standard of 5 minutes. In terms of letters accuracy, no reversed letters were found, although one student still frequently writes incomplete letters and three others make minor errors. Meanwhile, all students hold pencil using the correct technique, although one student positions their thumb too far from the pencil tip, and three students show the habit of pressing the pencil too hard, leaving marks on the paper.

Abstract

Reading ability is a fundamental skill that is very important for elementary school students because it plays a role in cognitive, social, and emotional development. This study aims to describe the early reading abilities of second-grade students at SDN 5 Sungai Raya. The research method used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through the EGRA (Early Grade Reading Assessment) test, which covers five aspects: letter recognition, word reading, reading meaningless words, reading fluency and reading comprehension, and listening comprehension. The results of the study show that most students still have difficulties. Of the eight research subjects, five students were unable to recognize letters randomly, four students were not fluent in reading whole words, and five students had difficulty reading meaningless words, with one student completely unable to pronounce them. In terms of reading aloud and reading comprehension, four students were not fluent and did not fully understand the text. Meanwhile, two students still had difficulties in listening to the reading. In conclusion, the early reading skills of second-grade students at SDN 5 Sungai Raya are still relatively low and require further attention. The role of teachers, varied learning strategies, supporting media, and parental support are important factors in improving students' reading skills from an early age.

Abstract

Penelitian ini didasari oleh rendahnya nilai Matematika peserta didik kelas V di SDN 07 Sungai Raya, terutama dalam soal cerita pemecahan masalah. Dengan merujuk pada teori Polya, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis atau mengkaji secara mendalam kemampuan pemecahan masalah Matematika peserta didik kelas V, khususnya dalam perkalian dan pembagian desimal. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan 23 peserta didik kelas VF sebagai subjek. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes tertulis yang terdiri dari lima soal cerita pemecahan masalah dan dianalisis berdasarkan empat indikator Polya: memahami masalah, membuat rencana penyelesaian masalah, melaksanakan rencana yang telah ditetapkan, dan memeriksa ulang jawaban yang diperoleh. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan pemecahan masalah peserta didik secara umum masih sangat rendah. Terlihat bahwa hanya indikator memahami masalah yang berada dalam kategori “sedang”, sementara tiga indikator lainnya (membuat rencana penyelesaian masalah, melaksanakan rencana yang telah ditetapkan, dan memeriksa ulang jawaban yang diperoleh) berada dalam kategori “sangat rendah”. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas peserta didik belum mampu menyelesaikan soal cerita pemecahan masalah Matematika secara sistematis. Oleh sebab itu, diperlukan latihan dan penguatan secara berkelanjutan pada setiap tahap pemecahan masalah untuk meningkatkan keterampilan tersebut.

Abstract

Kemampuan membaca permulaan merupakan keterampilan dasar yang penting dikuasai peserta didik kelas awal sebagai fondasi memahami pelajaran lain. Jika kemampuan ini belum berkembang, maka peserta didik akan kesulitan mengikuti pembelajaran selanjutnya. Berdasarkan pengamatan di kelas I SDN 5 Sungai Raya, masih ada peserta didik yang kesulitan mengenal huruf, membaca kata, serta memahami bacaan sederhana. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan kemampuan membaca permulaan peserta didik kelas I dengan menggunakan instrumen Early Grade Reading Assessment (EGRA). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan subjek empat peserta didik. Instrumen EGRA meliputi lima aspek, yaitu: (1) mengenal huruf, (2) membaca kata, (3) membaca kata yang tidak mempunyai arti, (4) kelancaran membaca nyaring dan pemahaman bacaan, serta (5) menyimak (pemahaman mendengar). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kemampuan peserta didik bervariasi. Dua peserta didik sudah mampu mengenal huruf dan membaca kata dengan cukup lancar, tetapi masih lemah pada suku kata kompleks seperti “ng” dan “ny”. Dua peserta didik lainnya masih kesulitan mengenal huruf dan belum dapat membaca kata dengan baik. Pada aspek menyimak, sebagian besar tergolong baik, meskipun ekspresi saat membaca nyaring belum sesuai isi bacaan. Simpulan penelitian ini menunjukkan kemampuan membaca permulaan peserta didik kelas I SDN 5 Sungai Raya masih perlu ditingkatkan, terutama dalam membaca kata. Oleh karena itu, guru perlu menerapkan strategi pembelajaran bervariasi dan melibatkan orang tua untuk mendukung perkembangan literasi peserta didik.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran interaktif berupa pop-up book pada materi perkembangbiakan tumbuhan untuk siswa kelas IV SDN 08 Sungai Raya. Latar belakang penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa mengalami kesulitan memahami materi perkembangbiakan tumbuhan yang bersifat abstrak dengan media pembelajaran konvensional seperti LKS dan gambar statis, yang berdampak pada rendahnya hasil belajar. Media pop-up book dipilih karena kemampuannya menyajikan visual tiga dimensi yang menarik dan interaktif, sehingga diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pemahaman dan motivasi belajar siswa.Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Namun, penelitian ini difokuskan hingga tahap pengembangan karena keterbatasan waktu, tenaga, dan biaya. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket validasi dari ahli materi dan ahli media, serta angket respons siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media pop-up book yang dikembangkan sangat layak digunakan, dengan validasi ahli materi sebesar 76% dan ahli media sebesar 86,6%. Selain itu, media ini juga dinyatakan sangat praktis berdasarkan respons siswa dengan perolehan nilai 92,2%. Dengan demikian, pop-up book ini sangat direkomendasikan sebagai solusi untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa kelas IV pada materi perkembangbiakan tumbuhan.

Abstract

The ability to apply concepts in mathematics learning is very important for students to master because it will have an impact on student learning outcomes so that they can be declared to have passed the KKM in mathematics learning. This study aims to describe students' ability to apply concepts to fifth-grade multiplication problems where the ability to apply has two indicators, namely execution and implementation. This study uses the Quantitative Descriptive method. The subjects of the study were 22 fifth-grade students. The results of the study show that students' ability to execute problems is in the high category with an average value of 77.50, while students' ability to implement is in the medium category with an average value of 57.27. This shows that students find it easier to execute problems than to implement problems, especially in contextual essay questions, although the average value on the implementation indicator is lower than execution, but in general students are considered capable of applying mathematical concepts, especially in multiplication operations.
