Abstract

Internet access has become a major need for various groups, including individuals, businesses, and governments. Choosing the right Internet Service Provider (ISP) is very important to ensure the quality and smooth access of the internet. Ideally, the choice of ISP is not only based on price or popularity, but also on technical aspects such as connection speed, network stability, as well as customer service and technical support. A reliable and quality ISP ensures a fast and stable internet connection, which is essential for daily online activities. This study provides a reference for Wi-Fi internet service providers (ISP) that are most suitable for use in the Medan Marelan sub-district area, Medan City using the MADM-SAW method. The result are My Republic is in first place, BizNet in second, Iconnet in third and in last place is Indihome.

Abstract

This study designs and develops a water level monitoring system for fish ponds based on the Internet of Things (IoT) using wireless communication channels Bluetooth low energy (BLE) and Lo-Ra The system consists of a Sensor Node, Repeater, Gateway, and the Blynk Cloud application. The Sensor Node detects the water level and pump condition, processes the data, and transmits it to the Repeater via BLE signals. The Repeater receives information from the Sensor Node and sends it to the Gateway using Lo-Ra signals. The Gateway receives the data and send it to the Blynk Cloud via WiFi and cellular networks. To conserve battery usage on the Repeater, the transmission process is scheduled periodically, where after sending information to the Gateway, the ESP-32 enters deep sleep mode for 60 seconds before resuming operation. Based on testing, the JSN-SR04T ultrasonic sensor can measure pond water levels ranging from 20 cm to 200 cm with a maximum error of 3% and an average error of 1%. The communication range of BLE in LOS (Line of Sight) areas with a 7dBi antenna can reach up to 40 meters, while the communication range of LoRa can reach up to 700 meters. By utilizing deep sleep mode on the Repeater to delay delivery battery usage is significantly more efficient compared to using the delay function, where a delivery delay of 60 seconds saves 143% and the longer the delay, the more economical the use of deep sleep. The water level and pump condition messages from the Sensor Node to the operator via Blynk vary between 8 to 25 seconds, depending on the internet signal.

Abstract

The goods delivery service industry has emerged as a strategic business both during and after the pandemic. The shift towards online shopping, which became a norm during the pandemic, let’s continue post-pandemic, making it a promising sector for companies involved in goods delivery. However, the industry faces challenges, particularly related to security during shipment. One common issue is the inability to track vehicle positions, leading to unauthorized loading and unloading activities at incorrect locations, causing losses for business owners. Conventional mechanical locks are vulnerable to theft, duplication, key loss, and vandalism, making them inadequate for securing cargo. To address these issues, Smart Lock technology has been developed, offering enhanced security through modern, integrated features. This technology eliminates the need for physical keys, reducing the risk of loss, and allows for remote access management. Additionally, it enables cargo owners to monitor the vehicle's position and control the lock remotely. Given these advancements, there is a need to explore Tracking Systems for delivery vehicles, incorporating automatic locks controlled via Internet of Things (IoT) technology. Based on the measurement, the tracking system tool testing was carried out at 5 different locations. The distances are 2.9 km, 6.4 km, 3 km, 7.1 km, 4.7 km from campus. The GPS signal is sent to the cloud server Cloud of Jointech. Data transmission uses the GSM network. There is a delay difference of 2-3 seconds from the GPS time signal compared to the time data displayed on the website. The data provided from the GPS signal is updated every 20 seconds. Based on the 5 test locations that have been set, the on/off lock test has been successfully carried out.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah pelatihan instalasi penerangan listrik sederhana adalah untuk meningkatkan keterampilan, khususnya bagi siswa SMK Jurusan Teknik Jaringan Tenaga Listrik.  Metoda yang dilakukan adalah dengan memberikan pelatihan berupa materi dari instalasi penerangan listrik sederhana dan praktek langsung di modul kit yang telah disediakan oleh pelaksana pada siswa kelas X di SMK GKPI 1 Kota Pematang Siantar. Selain itu, tim pelaksana juga akan memberikan bantuan berupa  modul kit instalasi penerangan listrik sederhana sejumlah 4 set yang dapat langsung digunakan oleh siswa, sehingga lebih banyak siswa yang dapat melakukan praktik langsung ke modul. Dari hasil kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini diperoleh siswa dapat menambah keterampilan dasar instalasi penerangan listrik sederhana, kesempatan siswa untuk melakukan praktek langsung lebih merata seiring dengan bertambahnya modul praktik  dan menambah semangat siswa dalam melakukan praktikum instalasi penerangan instalasi listrik sederhana.

Abstract

This research develops an Internet of Things (IoT)-based system to monitor electrical voltage parameters in two rooms of the Telecommunication Laboratory at Medan State Polytechnic. The system employs two sensor nodes (PZEM-004T, ESP32, and LoRa SX1276) and a gateway node integrated with WiFi and the Blynk cloud. The sensors measure voltage, current, power, energy consumption, frequency, and power factor, which are processed by ESP32 and transmitted via a LoRa multi-point network to the gateway for online monitoring. An automatic cut-off mechanism and email notifications are provided when abnormal voltage or current conditions occur. Experimental results show high measurement accuracy with a maximum error of 0.29% for voltage and 2.52% for current. However, data transmission experienced 20% packet loss, with an average delay of 11 seconds on Blynk and 37 seconds for email notifications. These findings indicate that the proposed system is effective in protecting laboratory equipment from abnormal power sources and provides reliable online and offline monitoring, although transmission performance requires further optimization.

Abstract

Terjadinya pandemi COVID-19 telah merubah cara melakukan kegiatan sehari-hari bahkan mengubah tata cara beribadah. Pada awal pandemi COVID-19 menyebar kegiatan berkumpul sangat dibatasi. Ibadah yang sebelumnya dilaksanakan secara bersama dengan berkumpul di tempat ibadah harus berubah dengan dilaksanakan secara daring dari tempat tinggal masing-masing dengan menyaksikan rekaman yang diputar sesuai jadwal yang ada. Setelah trend pandemik sudah menurun kegiatan ibadah sudah mulai dilakukan secara luring dengan jumlah jemaat yang dibatasi dan harus dibantu dengan ibadah daring untuk jemaat yang belum dapat hadir secara luring. Untuk memenuhi kebutuhan jemaat beribadah tetapi masih terkendala hadir di tempat ibadah maka dibutuhkan solusi acara ibadah secara blended (luring dan daring livestreaming). Untuk mendukung terlaksananya ibadah secara blended maka diperlukan pemanfaatan multimedia yang lebih maksimal agar kegiatan ibadah secara luring dan daring livestreaming dapat dilaksanakan secara maksimal dan berkesinambungan. Pada kegiatan pengabdian kemitraan masyarakat yang telah dilaksanakan pelatihan pengoperasian software Open Broadcaster Software (OBS), pengaturan presentasi pada system operasi windows, dan instalasi perangkat yang mendukung livestreaming bagi sepuluh orang tim multimedia Gereja HKBP Perumnas Simalingkar. Dengan dilakukannya pelatihan ini mitra telah dapat memberikan layanan ibadah yang lebih baik bagi jemaat yang hadir secara langsung dan yang beribadah secara livestreaming, dimana jemaat yang hadir secara langsung di gereja dapat mengikuti ibadah lebih nyaman dikarenakan adanya layar tambahan. Dan apabila situasi tidak memungkinkan ibadah secara langsung tim multimedia gereja telah siap untuk memfasilitasi pelaksanaan ibadah secara daring dan livestreaming.
