Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan yang signifikan hasil belajar pengetahuan Bahasa Indonesia (keterampilan menulis) tema cita-citaku antara siswa yang dibelajarkan melalui pendekatan saintifik berbasis pertanyaan langsung dan siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan pendekatan saintifik berbasis pertanyaan tidak langsung pada siswa kelas IV SD Gugus Letkol Wisnu. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pra-eksperimen dengan rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah The Static Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah semua kelas IV SD Gugus Letkol Wisnu, meliputi 7 SD berjumlah 350 siswa. Pengambilan sampel dengan teknik random sampling dan diperoleh kelas IVa SD Negeri 1 Peguyangan berjumlah 41 siswa sebagai kelas terteliti dengan tindakan berupa pertanyaan langsung dan kelas IVa SD Negeri 5 Peguyangan berjumlah 38 siswa sebagai kelas terteliti dengan tindakan berupa pertanyaan tidak langsung. Data yang dikumpulkan adalah hasil belajar pengetahuan Bahasa Indonesia (keterampilan menulis) berupa nilai kognitif. Nilai kognitif dikumpulkan menggunakan tes hasil belajar dalam bentuk tes pilihan ganda biasa. Data dianalisis dengan uji-t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan hasil belajar pengetahuan Bahasa Indonesia (keterampilan menulis) tema cita-citaku antara siswa yang dibelajarkan melalui pendekatan saintifik berbasis pertanyaan langsung dan siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan pendekatan saintifik berbasis pertanyaan tidak langsung pada siswa kelas IV SD Gugus Letkol Wisnu dengan thitung=2,47 > ttabel=1,65 pada taraf signifikansi 5%. Berdasarkan kriteria pengujian maka H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pendekatan saintifik berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar pengetahuan Bahasa Indonesia (keterampilan menulis) tema cita-citaku pada siswa kelas IV SD Gugus Letkol Wisnu ditinjau dari cara guru bertanya. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar keterampilan berbicara Bahasa Indonesia antara kelompok siswa yang dibelajarkan melalui pendekatan saintifik menggunakan pertanyaan langsung dan kelompok siswa yang dibelajarkan melalui pendekatan saintifik menggunakan pertanyaan tidak langsung. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen lemah (pre-eksperiment) dengan rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah The Static Pretest-Posttest Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV SDN Desa Peguyangan, tahun ajaran 2014/2015. Sampel diambil dengan menggunakan teknik Random Sampling. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah observasi tersruktur menggunakan rubrik pengamatan keterampilan berbicara penilaian skala bertingkat (rating scale). Data dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan uji-t.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar keterampilan berbicara Bahasa Indonesia antara kelompok siswa yang dibelajarkan melalui pendekatan saintifik menggunakan pertanyaan langsung dan kelompok siswa yang dibelajarkan melalui pendekatan saintifik menggunakan pertanyaan tidak langsung. Berdasarkan hasil uji-t diperoleh thitung = 1,98 dan ttabel pada taraf signifikansi 5% dengan derajat kebebasan 74 =1,67. Berdasarkan kriteria pengujian thitung > ttabel (1,98>1,67) ini berarti H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima. Rata-rata hasil belajar keterampilan berbicara antara kelompok siswa yang dibelajarkan melalui pedekatan saintifik menggunakan pertanyaan langsung lebih tinggi daripada kelompok siswa yang dibelajarkan melalui pedekatan saintifik menggunakan pertanyaan tidak langsung (79,05>76,47). Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan pendekatan saintifik ditinjau dari karakteristik pertanyaan guru berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar keterampilan berbicara Bahasa Indonesia tema cita-citaku pada siswa kelas IV SDN Desa Peguyangan tahun pelajaran 2014/2015Kata Kunci : pendekatan saintifik, pertanyaan guru, keterampilan berbicara The purpose of this research is to determining the differences in learning outcome of Bahasa Indonesia (speaking skill) between the students which is learn trhough scientific approach used direct question and the students which is learn trhough scientific approach used indirect question. This research is pre-experimental with The Static Pretest-Posttest Design. The population in this research is the fourth grade students at SDN Peguyangan (2014/2015). The Samples in this research were taken by using the random sampling technique. The Data collection methods used in this study is a structured observation using observation rubric speaking skills assessment graduated scale. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and t-test.The research showed that there were differences in learning results of Bahasa Indonesia (speaking skill) among the students which is learn trhough scientific approach used direct question and the students which is learn trhough scientific approach used indirect question. Based on t-test results t observe = 1.98 and t table at significance level of 5% with 74 degrees of freedom = 1.67. Based on testing criteria t observe > t table (1.98>1.67) This means that H0 is rejected and Ha accepted. On average speaking skills learning results between groups of students that learned through scientific approuch used direct question was higher than the group of students that learned through scientific opprouch used indirect questions (79.05>76.47). It can be concluded scientific approach in terms of the characteristics of a teacher's question affects the outcome of the skills learned to speak Indonesian theme of Cita-citaku in grade IV SDN Peguyangan (2014/2015).keyword : Saintific approuch, teacher questions, speaking skills

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan yang signifikan hasil belajar pengetahuan Bahasa Indonesia (keterampilan menulis) antara kelompok siswa yang dibelajarkan melalui pendekatan saintifik ditinjau dari karakteristik pertanyaan abstrak, dan kelompok siswa yang yang dibelajarkan melalui pendekatan saintifik ditinjau dari karakteristik pertanyaan kongkret pada siswa kelas IV SDN Desa Peguyangan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pra-eksperimen dengan rancangan Prates-Pascates Kelompok Statis. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV SDN Desa Peguyangan. Sampel ditentukan dengan teknik random sampling. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan metode tes dengan jenis tes pilihan ganda biasa. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji-t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan mean kelompok siswa yang dibelajarkan melalui pendekatan saintifik ditinjau dari karakteristik pertanyaan abstrak (57.64) lebih tinggi daripada kelompok siswa yang dibelajarkan melalui pendekatan saintifik ditinjau dari karakteristik pertanyaan kongkret (56.08). Sampel penelitian ditentukan dengan teknik random sampling. Data hasil belajar Pengetahuan Bahasa Indonesia (keterampilan membaca) siswa dikumpulkan dengan instrumen test pilihan ganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa thitung= 2,66 dan ttabel (pada taraf signifikansi 5%) = 2,00. Hal ini berarti thitung> ttabel sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan hasil belajar Pengetahuan Bahasa Indonesia (keterampilan membaca) antara siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan pendekatan saintifik berbasis pertanyaan guru dengan jawaban tertunda dan siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan pendekatan saintifik berbasis pertanyaan guru dengan jawaban segera. Skor rata-rata yang diperoleh dari hasil belajar siswa yaitu = 73,31 berada pada kategori sangat tinggi dan 65,91 berada pada kategori tinggi. Jadi pendekatan saintifik dalam pembelajaran berbasis pertanyaan guru dengan jawaban tertunda dan pendekatan saintifik dalam pembelajaran berbasis pertanyaan guru dengan jawaban segera berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar Pengetahuan Bahasa Indonesia (keterampilan membaca) pada siswa kelas IV SD Desa Peguyangan.Kata Kunci : pendekatan saintifik, berbasis pertanyaan guru, keterampilan membaca Abstract This research was aimed to know the difference of Indonesian language learning outcome (reading skill) between group of class IV students SD Desa Peguyangan 2014/2015 that were learn through scientific approach based teacher question with pending answer and students that were learn through scientific approach based teacher question with direct answer. The outcome of the research showed that taritmatic = 2,66 and ttabel (at 5% significancy target) = 2,00 that meant tarithmatic > ttabel. So could be concluded that there was significant difference of bahasa Indonesia learning outcome (reading skill) between students that were learn by scientific approach based teacher question pending answer and student that were learn by scientific approach based teacher question direct answer average score that were ganed from students learning result was = 73,31 at highest category and 65,91 at high category. So scientific approach on learning procces based teacher question with pending answer and scientific with direct answer influenced with bahasa Indonesia learning (reading skill) at the student of class IV SD Desa Peguyangan.keyword : scientific approach, teacher question, and reading skill

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan penguasaan kompetensi keterampilan menulis pada siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 2 Tonja tahun ajaran 2015/2016 dengan menerapkan pendekatan saintifik berbantuan media gambar berseri. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang terdiri dari dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari tahap perenanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 2 Tonja. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah metode tes uraian untuk mengetahui penguasaan kompetensi keterampilan menulis dalam materi bahasa Indonesia, selanjutnya dianalisis menggunakan metode analisis statistik deskriptif. Hasil perbaikan pembelajaran siklus I sebesar 60,25% sedangkan rata-rata perbaikan pembelajaran pada siklus II sebesar 75,225% dari perbaikan pembelajaran pada siklus I ke siklus II mengalami peningkatan sebesar 16%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan pendekatan saintifik berbantuan media gambar berseri dapat meningkatkan penguasaan kompetensi keterampilan menulis dalam bahasa Indonesia siswa kelas IV SD negeri 2 Tonja. This study aims to improve the mastery of writing skills competency in IV grade SDN 2 Tonja academic year 2015/2016 by implementing a scientific approach aided by serial images media. This type of research is the Classroom Action Research (CAR), which is composed of two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects are IV grade students in SDN 2 Tonja. Data collection method used is essay test method to determine the competency mastery of writing skills of Bahasa Indonesia material, then be analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis method. The results of the first cycle of learning improvements are 60.25% while the average improvements of learning in the second cycle are 75.225% from the improvement of learning in the first cycle to the second cycle increase by 16%. Based on these results it can be concluded that the application of the scientific approach aided by serial images media can improve competency mastery of writing skills of Bahasa Indonesian in fourth grade students SDN 2 Tonja.keyword : Key words: Scientific approach, images media, skills

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan (1) untuk mengetahui perbedaan yang signifikan penguasaan kompetensi pengetahuan IPS antara kelompok yang dibelajarkan melalui pendekatan saintifik berbasis portofolio dengan yang dibelajarkan melalui pendekatan saintifik pada siswa kelas IV SD gugus I Gusti Ngurah Rai Kecamatan Denpasar Timur, (2) untuk mengetahui perbedaan yang signifikan penguasaan kompetensi pengetahuan IPS antara kepercayaan diri tinggi dan rendah, (3) untuk mengetahui interaksi antara pendekatan saintifik berbasis portofolio dengan kepercayaan diri terhadap penguasaan kompetensi pengetahuan IPS. Rancangan analisis penelitian ini adalah rancangan faktorial 2X2. Faktor pemilahnya adalah variabel moderator kepercayaan diri. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas IV SD Gugus I Gusti Ngurah Rai Kecamatan Denpasar Timur. Menentukan sampel penelitian ini menggunakan teknik random sampling. Data yang dikumpulkan adalah data kepercayaan diri dan penguasaan kompetensi pengetahuan IPS dengan instrumen berupa angket/kuisioner dan tes objektif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1)terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan penguasaan kompetensi pengetahuan IPS antara siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran pendekatan saintifik berbasis portofolio dengan siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran pendekatan saintifik (FAhitung=17,96 >Ftabel(α = 0,05; 1,82)= 4,00), (2)terdapat perbedaan yang siginifikan penguasaan kompetensi pengetahuan IPS antara siswa yang memiliki kepercayaan diri tinggi dan kepercayaan diri rendah (FB=25,52 >Ftabel(α = 0,05; 1,82))= 4,00), (3) terdapat interaksi pendekatan saintifik berbasis portofolio dan kepercayaan diri terhadap penguasaan kompetensi pengetahuan IPS (FAB=90,05 >Ftabel(α = 0,05; 1,82))= 4,00). Berdasarkan temuan tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh pendekatan saintifik berbasis portofolio terhadap penguasaan kompetensi pengetahuan IPS ditinjau dari kepercayaan diri siswa kelas IV tema cita-citaku SD gugus I Gusti Ngurah Rai Kecamatan Denpasar Timur. Kata Kunci : pendekatan saintifik berbasis portofolio, penguasaan kompetensi pengetahuan, kepercayaan diri This study were aimed (1) To find a significant difference mastery of competencies of social scientific knowledge between the group that learned through scientific approach based on portofolio which was learned through scientific approach in grade IV Elementary school group I Gusti Ngurah Rai Denpasar East District, (2) to determine a significant difference mastery of competencies of social scientific knowledge between high and low confidence, (3) to understand the interaction between the scientific approach based on portofolio with confidence against social scientific knowledge mastery of competencies. The designof this research in the diving factor 2X2. It were sorter by using factor confidence moderator variable. The population in this study were all of fourth grade students in Group I Gusti Ngurah Rai Denpasar East District. Determine sample this study make us of random sampling technique. The data that was collect is self-confidence data and mastery of social scientific competencies by instrument that is questionnaire and objective test. The results showed that: (1) there are differences significant between the social scientific mastery of competencies of students who takes a scientific approach to portofolio-based on learn with the learning of students who take a scientific approach (FAcalculated = 17,96> F table (α = 0,05; 1, 62) = 4,00), (2) there is a social scientific difference significant that mastered of competencies between students who have high confidence and low confidence (FB= 25,52> F table (α = 0,05; 1,62) ) = 4,00) (3) there are significant scientific approach to portofolio-based on interaction and confidence of social scientific mastery of competencies (FAB = 90,05> F table (α = 0,05; 1,62)) = 4,00). Abstract

Penelitian tindakan kelas ini bertujuan untuk (1) meningkatkan aktivitas siswa melalui penerapan pendekatan saintifik berbasis keterampilan dasar mengajar pada siswa kelas V SD Negeri 2 Tonja tahun pelajaran 2015/2016 dan (2) meningkatkan penguasaan kompetensi pengetahuan IPS melalui penerapan pendekatan saintifik berbasis keterampilan dasar mengajar pada siswa kelas V SD Negeri 2 Tonja tahun pelajaran 2015/2016. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V SD Negeri 2 Tonja yang berjumlah 32 orang. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode observasi dan metode tes. Instrumen pengumpulan data aktivitas belajar yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi dan intrumen pengumpulan data penguasaan kompetensi pengetahuan IPS yang digunakan adalah tes objektif. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan metode analisis statistik deskriptif dan metode analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa (1) nilai rata-rata aktivitas belajar meningkat 17,06 dari X ̅ = 65,5 pada siklus I menjadi X ̅ = 82,56 pada siklus II, (2) nilai rata-rata penguasaan kompetensi pengetahuan IPS meningkat 14,62 dari X ̅ = 66,06 pada siklus I menjadi X ̅ = 80,68 pada siklus II, (3) ketuntasan klasikal penguasaan kompetensi pengetahuan IPS meningkat 46,88% dari 40,62% pada siklus I menjadi 87,5% pada siklus II. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan pendekatan saintifik berbasis keterampilan dasar mengajar dapat meningkatkan aktivitas dan penguasaan kompetensi pengetahuan IPS pada siswa kelas V SD Negeri 2 Tonja tahun pelajaran 2015/2016.Kata Kunci : pendekatan saintifik, keterampilan dasar mengajar, akivitas, pengetahuan IPS This classroom action research aims to (1) increase the activity of students through the implementation of scientific based approach to teaching basic skills in fifth grade students of SDN 2 Tonja, academic year 2015/2016 (2) improve the competencies of IPS through the implementation of scientific based on basic teaching skills for fifth grade SDN 2 Tonja academic year 2015/2016. The subjects on this reaserch were 32 students of SDN 2 Tonja. There were two collection methods used in this research, the methods of observation and test methods. Learning activity data collection used observation form and data collection instrument IPS knowledge mastery of competence that are used the objektive test. The data analyzed by descriptive statistical analysis method and quantitative descriptive analysis method. The results of this reserch show that (1) the average value of the learning activity increased 17.06 from X ̅ = 65.5 on first cycle become X ̅ = 82.56 on second cycle, (2) the average value of competence mastery of knowledge increased 14.62 from X ̅= 66.06 on first cycle become X ̅ = 80.68 on second cycle, (3) classical competence mastery of completeness IPS increased 46.88% from 40.62% on first cycle become 87.5% in the second cycles. Based on these results it can be concluded that the implementation of scientific based approach on teaching basic skills can increase the activity and competence mastery of IPS fifth grade student of SDN 2 Tonja academic year 2015/2016.keyword : scientific approach, teaching basic skills, activities, knowledge IPS

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa kelas IIIC SDN 1 Ubud (2) meningkatkan penguasaan kompetensi pengetahuan matematika melalui penerapan pendekatan saintifik berbasis penilaian portofolio. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilaksanakan dalam 2 siklus. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas IIIC SDN 1 Ubud sebanyak 38 siswa. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan tes hasil belajar kompetensi pengetahuan dan tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah.Kemudian data dianalisis dengan menggunakan metode analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Nilai rata-rata hasil belajar kompetensi pengetahuan matematika untuk pra siklus diperoleh sebesar 2,40(berada pada predikat B-). Setelah penerapan pendekatan saintifik berbasis penilaian portofolio, rata-rata kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa kelas IIIC SDN 1 Ubud mencapai 2,46(berada pada predikat B-) pada siklus I dan 3,03 (berada pada predikat B+) pada siklus II. Kemampuan pemecahan masalah meningkat dari siklus I ke siklus II sebanyak 0,57. Rata-rata hasil belajar kompetensi pengetahuan mencapai 2,72(berada pada predikat B) pada siklus I dan 3,1 (berada pada predikat B+). Penguasaan kompetensi pengetahuan matematika tema Energi dan Perubahannya meningkat dari siklus I ke siklus II sebanyak 0,37. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini disimpulkan, penerapan pendekatan saintifik berbasis penilaian portofolio dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan penguasaan kompetensi pengetahuan matematika siswa kelas IIIC SDN 1 Ubud.Kata Kunci : pendekatan saintifik, penilaian portofolio, pemecahan masalah, kompetensi pengetahuan matematika This research aimed to (1) enhance the problem solving IIIC grade students at SDN 1 Ubud (2) increase the competence mastery of mathematical knowledge through the application of scientifically based approach to portfolio assessment. This research is a classroom action research conducted in two cycles. Subjects were students in grade IIIC SDN 1 Ubud many as 38 students. Collecting data in this reseach using the test results to learn and test the knowledge competency problem-solving abilities. Then the data were analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis method. The average value of learning outcomes competences for pre-cycle mathematical knowledge obtained at 2.40 (currently on predicate B-). After implementation of a scientific approach based portfolio assessment, the average problem-solving abilities IIIC grade students at SDN 1 Ubud reached 2.46 (currently on predicate B-) in the first cycle and 3.03 (currently on predicate B +) in the second cycle. Problem solving skills increased from the first cycle to the second cycle as much as 0.57. The average result of learning competencies of knowledge reached 2.73 (currently on predicate B) in the first cycle and 3.1 (currently on predicate B +). Competency mastery of mathematical knowledge in the theme of Energy and its amendment increases from the first cycle to the second cycle as much as 0.37. Based on the results of this study be concluded, the application of a scientific approach based portfolio assessment can enhance the problem solving competence and mastery of mathematical knowledge IIIC grade students at SDN 1 Ubud.keyword : The scientific approach, portfolio assessment, problem solving, competence of mathematical knowledge.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) meningkatkan penguasaan kompetensi pengetahuan IPS melalui penerapan talking stick dalam pendekatan saintifik, (2) meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa melalui penerapan talking stick dalam pendekatan saintifik. Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas IV di SDN 9 Padangsambian yang berjumlah 42 siswa, terdiri dari 21 orang putra dan 21 orang putri. Data mengenai penguasaan kompetensi pengetahuan IPS dikumpulkan menggunakan metode tes, sedangkan data motivasi belajar dikumpulkan dengan kuesioner. Data dianalisis dengan metode analisis statistik deskriptif dan analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil analisis menunjukan bahwa persentase rata-rata penguasaan kompetensi pengetahuan IPS siswa pada tahap observasi awal adalah 69.35% dengan kategori cukup dengan ketuntasan klasikal 38.1%. Untuk meningkatkan penguasaan kompetensi pengetahuan IPS tersebut maka diberikan tindakan dengan menggunakan talking stick dalam pendekatan saintifik. Pada siklus I didapatkan persentase 78.67% dengan kategori baik dan pada siklus II dengan persentase 83.21% dengan kategori baik. Sementara motivasi belajar siswa juga mengalami peningkatan dari 74.69% dengan kategori sedang menjadi 81.09% dengan kategori tinggi. Peningkatan juga terlihat pada persentase ketuntasan belajar siswa, pada siklus I sebesar 52,38% dan siklus II sebesar 88.09%, sehingga terjadi peningkatan sebesar 35.71%. Dari hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan talking stick dalam pendekatan saintifik dapat meningkatkan penguasaan kompetensi pengetahuan IPS dan motivasi belajar siswa kelas IV SDN 9 Padangsambian Tahun Ajaran 2015/2016. (2) Improving the students’ learning motivation through the implementation of talking stick in scientific approach. Research design in this present study is classroom action research, which was divided into two cycles. The subjects of this research were the sixth grade students of SDN 9 Padangsambian, which consists of 42 students in total, with 21 males and 21 females. The data of students’ social science competence was collected through administering test while the data for students’ learning motivation was collected through administering questioner. The data then was being analyzed by descriptive statistics analysis method and quantitative descriptive analysis method. The analysis showed that the average mastery for students’ social science competence in pre-observation was 69.35% with sufficient completeness category 38.1 %. Aim at improving the students’ social science competence, the researcher implemented talking stick in scientific approach. In cycle I the result was improving 78.67% categorized as good and in cycle II improved significantly to be 83.21% categorized as good too. In addition, from the students’ learning motivation was also improving significantly, it was 74.69% categorized as sufficient then improved to 81.09% categorized as very good. The improvement was also seen in students’ learning and studying completeness percentage, in cycle I was 67% and cycle II was 88.09%, thus the improvement from cycle I to II was 21.09%. It can be concluded that, the implementation of talking stick in scientific approach could improve social science competence and students’ learning motivation of the sixth grade students of SDN 9 Padangsambian in academic year 2015/2016.keyword : talking stick, scientific approach, social science competence, and students’ learning motivation
