Abstract

In the current digital era, understanding the nature of adolescents becomes crucial considering the influence of technology affecting their character development. The formation of identity and life purpose in adolescents is influenced by social environment and the Christian values they adopt. The implementation of Quizizz application in teaching at GBI Pelita Imanuel provides an enjoyable interactive experience for students, yet it also demonstrates some limitations, particularly in character development. Evaluation indicates improvement in subject understanding, but additional activities are still needed to strengthen character aspects. Although Quizizz offers benefits in student interaction and comprehension, it should be noted that Christian religious education involves character aspects not fully accommodated by the interactive quiz format. Therefore, a holistic and diverse approach to teaching is still required to develop deep Christian character in adolescents.

Abstract

The importance of Christian learning and formation became very significant, especially in the era of an independent curriculum that emphasized character development as the core of education. This process is more than just moral and intellectual formation, but it is a step towards transformation into a "new man" influenced by the Holy Spirit. Involving the values of the Kingdom of God such as love, justice, and peace in the building of Christian character is important. An independent curriculum provides an opportunity to unify Christian character building by rooting the values of the Kingdom of God, forming customs that support mission, and developing character that reflects Christ. The importance of Christian character-building in education must not be overlooked, for it forms not only extraordinary individuals, but also individuals who are ready to be God's instruments in the realization of His mission in the world..

Abstract

This article explores the relationship between nationalism and Christian faith from a biblical perspective. Nationalism is often defined as loyalty to nation and state, while Christian faith centres on loyalty to God and His kingdom. In the Indonesian context, churches participated in the nationalism movement from the colonialism era until independence. Based on theological studies, the Bible provides insight that believers' primary loyalty should be to God, although they are also expected to be good citizens. This article uses a literature study method with a qualitative approach to analyse relevant biblical texts as well as related theological literature. The concept of nation in the Bible is examined from the perspective of the Old Testament, which focuses on the ethnic identity of the nation of Israel, to the New Testament, which expands the nation's identity into an inclusive community of faith. The article also highlights the ethical implications of nationalism for Christians, who should reflect the values of justice, love and sacrifice, and avoid exclusionary and xenophobic attitudes.
