Abstract

This study aims to analyze the efficiency of reducing BOD, TSS, oil and fat parameters in graywater waste, explaining the optimal residence time and percentage of plant cover needed in graywater waste treatment, designing a graywater waste treatment design model with Ecotech Garden using water jasmine plants (Echinodorus palaefolius) on a household scale. This research was conducted using a Randomized Complete Block Design conducted as many as 3 (three) replications. Factor 1 (treatment) measured is the residence time of 0.5 days, 1 day, 2 days, 3 days and factor 2 (group) is the percentage of plant cover which is 0%, 40%, and 80 Based on the research that has been done, the results show that the efficiency of reducing BOD levels ranges from 74.92% to 81.40%, TSS ranges from 96.02% to 97.59%, oil and fat ranges from 94.35% to 97.36%. The optimum residence time and percentage of plant cover is a residence time of 1 day in the reactor basin with a plant cover percentage of 40% with a BOD reduction efficiency of 81.40%. The Ecotech Garden design with a residence time of 1 day obtained dimensions of length 1.6 m width 1 m depth 0.70 m with a percentage of cover 40% obtained the number of water jasmine plants (Echinodorus palaefolius) as many as 15 plants so that this design can be applied in the home yard.

Abstract

Researchers, together with the manager of the Asri Garbage Bank, formed a collaboration to socialize the habit of selecting waste. This kitchen waste will be made into compost and sold to the surrounding community. This activity aims to familiarize the people in Green Petunia Housing with managing waste to reduce the amount of garbage. The method used in this service is the PAR (Participatory Action Research) method, with stages through training, account creation practices, and mentoring. The training is carried out in three phases: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The results obtained from this activity are that people are increasingly aware of the importance of selecting waste and getting used to processing waste to reduce the amount of plastic waste around them.

Abstract

UMKM plays an important role in the economy of a region or country. Financial technology is one of the important roles to change behavior and expectations and can increase the quality and number of UMKM actors. This dedication aims to provide understanding, improvement, and quality improvement for UMKM actors through improvements in terms of standard and good financial management. The method used in this community service is Community Based Research (CBR) using the Forum Group Discussion (FGD) approach. The results of the activity show that some UMKM actors still do not understand the importance of Financial Technology (FinTech) in the business world, especially in terms of financial management.

Abstract

Changes in coastal land use can affect the condition of coastal ecosystems, including mangrove ecosystems which are typical vegetation in coastal areas. Mangrove ecosystems are only left in certain highly protected areas or planted on the edge of ponds bordering beaches or rivers to prevent abrasion. The thinning of mangrove forests in the coastal area of Marunda, North Jakarta makes it easy for sea water to enter residential areas. The reduction in mangrove land in the coastal area of North Jakarta has an impact on decreasing the environmental quality of the coastal area. This environmental community service activity aims to encourage awareness of the coastal environment which must be pursued by all levels of society, including the academic community, especially students and lecturers. The method for implementing this activity is collaboration and participation of local communities that the community around Marunda is involved in environmental conservation activities through the introduction of mangrove planting. Their introduction to the environment and its preservation can start from efforts to repair environmental damage itself. This service activity is an example of real implementation to overcome this problem. As a result of this activity, the community can introduce the types of mangrove plants as well as provide public learning for each generation regarding involvement in preserving the coastal environment for each future generation to take a role in protecting the environment and saving generations from ecological disasters in the future.

Abstract

Abstract

The Pawon Cave conservation area is a karst area that has a potential mining threat that can damage cultural heritage objects, catchments and springs, karst landscapes, flora and fauna. This study aims to examine the sustainability of the conservation of the Pawon Cave area from the aspect of biodiversity. The method used is a mixture of qualitative and quantitative. The results showed that from the aspect of biodiversity in the Pawon Cave conservation area, there are several springs that are quite good in the rainy season and dry season, but there are still obstacles in the distribution of utilization for residents around the beneficiary area. Processing and minimization of soil erosion is well managed, including the terracing system. Plants and animals that live in the area are preserved in the absence of logging and hunting. As for several types of plants in the suspected area, there are teak (Tectona grandis), mahogany (Swietenia mahagoni), manglid (Manglieta glauca), acacia (Acacia auriculiformis) and several types of bamboo. The types of animal dominance found in the area are long-tailed monkeys and mouse deer as well as several reptiles Factors that influence the sustainability of the conservation of the Pawon Cave area are policy support from the government and having adequate human resources to manage the area. The implementation of the policy has shown that it is appropriate to support conservation efforts such as prevention of mining, preservation of springs, protection of plants and animals in the area.
