Abstract

Abstract

In the field of sports coaching, research urgently needed that is closely related to achievement. Specifically, in the field of sports psychology, there is still a great need for research that specifically examines ideas that can be used as input for those who need them. The purpose of this study is to examine developments regarding sports psychology research, especially aspects of psychology that are currently developing rapidly through a bibliometric approach using a computerized mapping analysis application using VOSviewer. Apart from that, this research hopes to identify existing research trends in the field of sports psychology. Various article data obtained were sourced from Google Scholar using the Publish or Perish Reference Manager application. The keywords used to guide the search process in this research are “Psychological Aspects on Athletes”. During the search, the author found 988 articles relevant to the keyword. The articles obtained came from a span of 10 years, namely 2012-2022, and came from various journals and publishers. If explained one by one the published articles related to the psychological aspects of athletes from year to year will be obtained as follows: 55 articles in 2012, 62 articles in 2013, 69 articles in 2014, 73 articles in 2015, 73 articles in 2016, 74 articles in 2017, 89 articles in 2018, 119 articles in 2019, 140 articles in 2020, 132 articles in 2021 and 102 articles in 2022. Judging from the data, it can be seen that there has been an increase and decrease from year to year and we checked all of this using VOSviewer. The results of this study will help future researchers regarding sports psychology, especially aspects of psychology in sports, in finding sources, studies, and theories that are relevant to their research. However, this research still has limitations in using the application, so it is recommended to use other applications that make it possible to obtain further results.

Abstract

This study evaluates the impact of remote-mentoring programs on prospective teacher preparedness and self-efficacy during their initial teacher training. Teacher preparation is a critical element in developing effective educators, and mentoring plays a pivotal role in enhancing the professional development and confidence of novice teachers. With the growing trend of remote learning, particularly due to the COVID-19 pandemic, remote mentoring has emerged as an alternative to traditional face-to-face mentoring. The objective of this study was to assess how remote mentoring influences prospective teachers’ readiness to teach and their belief in their teaching abilities. Through a quasi-experimental design, the study compares two groups of prospective teachers: one group receiving remote mentoring and another group without it. The data were collected using self-efficacy questionnaires and in-depth interviews, focusing on participants' perceived teaching readiness, confidence, and experiences with remote mentoring. The findings suggest that remote mentoring significantly enhanced teaching self-efficacy and preparedness compared to the non-mentored group. While remote mentoring provided flexibility and accessibility, challenges such as technological barriers and the lack of personal interaction were identified. The study concludes that remote mentoring can be an effective tool for teacher preparation, particularly in areas where traditional mentoring is difficult to implement. Recommendations include the use of blended approaches, combining online mentoring with occasional face-to-face interactions, to overcome the limitations of remote learning. Further research is suggested to explore the long-term effects of remote mentoring on teacher performance and to compare mentoring practices across different disciplines and regions.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the relationship between self-confidence and emotion regulation and competitive anxiety among female basketball athletes. A quantitative correlation research design was used by involving 53 female athletes participating in the Bandung Student League, who were selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires of confidence, emotion regulation, and competitive anxiety and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results showed that confidence and emotion regulation were significantly and negatively associated with competitive anxiety (R² = 0.54 p < 0.05), suggesting that both variables contributed substantially to explaining the variation in athletes’ anxiety levels. The R2 value in this study was 0.540 or 54%, suggesting that anxiety variance can be explained by confidence and emotion regulation. This means that there are 46% of other factors that affect anxiety besides self-confidence and emotion regulation. Athletes with higher levels of confidence and better emotion regulation tend to experience lower levels of anxiety during competitive situations. These findings suggest that psychological factors, especially confidence and emotion regulation, play an important role in reducing competitive anxiety among female basketball athletes.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the difference in the mental toughness of  handball athletes based on gender and length of practice, as well as to find out the interaction between the three variables. This research method uses a descriptive quantitative approach. The data in this study was obtained from 56 athletes, 28 handball athletes from Bogor Regency and 28 handball athletes from the city of Bandung, each contingent consisting of 14 male athletes and 14 female athletes. The data collection technique used the Sport Mental Toughness Quistionnaire (SMTQ) compiled by Sheard. Data analysis in this study used independent sample t-test and one way anova. The results showed that there was a significant difference by sex with (Sig. 2-tailed = 0.000; p<0.05) especially on the confidence subscale, and the length of practice had an effect (Sig. = 0.006; p<0.05) on mental toughness, athletes who trained >2 years showed a higher level of mental toughness than the <1 year group. In conclusion, while gender differences primarily affect confidence, a training duration of more than two years is the key factor in achieving stable mental toughness among PORPROV handball athletes.

Abstract

This article analyzes the comparative effectiveness and efficiency of arbitration and litigation in the resolution of business disputes in Indonesia in order to achieve legal certainty. Dispute resolution through litigation offers formal legal certainty and ease of enforcement of court decisions; however, it has several drawbacks, including lengthy procedures, high costs, and open court proceedings that may compromise confidentiality and damage business reputation. In contrast, arbitration provides advantages such as faster and more flexible procedures, confidentiality, and the ability of the parties to appoint arbitrators with expertise relevant to the subject matter of the dispute. The determinant factors influencing the choice of dispute resolution mechanism include time efficiency, cost considerations, information confidentiality, the sustainability of long-term business relationships, and the technical complexity of disputes. Based on these factors, strategies for optimizing arbitration include the inclusion of clear arbitration clauses in contracts, the selection of accredited arbitration institutions such as the Indonesian National Arbitration Board (BANI), the implementation of pre-arbitration negotiations, and the use of e-arbitration with end-to-end encryption systems to ensure confidentiality and effective enforcement of arbitral awards. Therefore, strengthening regulations and enhancing the capacity of national arbitration institutions are essential to support a stable and sustainable investment climate in Indonesia.
