Abstract

Passover celebrations are always repeated every year for Christians, although not as festive as Christmas. Christian Passover events are a series of events from the death of Jesus Christ on the cross and His resurrection on the third day. There have been many attempts to reduce the events of the cross and deny the crucified figure of Jesus Christ. This research tries to explore and examine the meaning of Easter in Christianity and how it relates to the Messianic Covenant in Genesis 3:15. The method used is qualitative with a literature review approach, examining the red threads of the Old and New Testaments regarding Passover, where in the conclusion there is a relationship between Genesis 3:15 concerning the Messianic covenant as a type and its antitype or fulfilment is in the event of the cross, and this is a work God's salvation in overcoming human sin, on the one hand God's justice is satisfied by punishing sin on the cross, and on the other hand it shows God's love for humans. Thus, as people who believe in Jesus Christ, they must understand the meaning of this Passover in their daily lives, and moreover, theological high school students and church pastors must understand that and educate the congregation to maintain the spirit of Passover.

Abstract

Abstract: The words about the cross of Christ and its preaching are an urgent part of biblical theology. The words about the cross emphasize the status of Jesus who incarnated (John 1:14) or the humble status of Jesus in the ‘likeness’ (Gk. MORPHE), of a servant (Gk. DOULOS), and being equal to humans (Phil. 2:7). Without Jesus being incarnated, there would be no teaching about the cross of Jesus in the Bible, either in descriptive, prophetic and type forms in the Old Testament and then executed through the incarnation of Jesus with the most important work in the history of human life, which is the Cross of Christ. This research examines Paul’s theological perspective regarding the preaching of the cross of Christ in 1 Corinthians 1:18-25. The method used is a qualitative literature study with an exegetical description orientation. The research findings show that the cross of Christ redeems because it is based on God’s wisdom. The important thing and prominent thing that is emphasized is that the cross of Christ that Paul preaches is very exclusive, unique, and anti-thetical because it is Gospel-centered, which is the only good news, which will not be the same as any preaching of any other religion, and any philosophy.

Abstract

Abstract: This article focuses on how Christian ethics serves as a guide for the morality of the congregation amidst the AI era, which can trap everyone in deviant behavior due to digital algorithms that do not distinguish between right and wrong information. Based on these fundamental principles, this topic is examined by the researcher by posing questions such as: What are the foundations of Christian ethics in dealing with technology? Through a methodological literature approach that emphasizes critical analysis of theological literature, this method was chosen because theological-ethical research does not rely solely on empirical experiments, but rather on conceptual reflection and hermeneutical analysis of biblical texts, as well as contemporary research findings on AI and ethics. The findings of this study reveal that the fundamental principle of Christian ethics is rooted in the understanding that all human actions, including the use of technology, must reflect wisdom derived from God. Therefore, the church cannot be a passive observer of technological developments but must be a critical prophetic voice against the misuse of AI that threatens human dignity. Because, in essence, the prophetic voice of the church is calling for the restoration of integrity and honesty in the digital space.

Abstract

This study examines the theological significance of the young man who fled naked in Mark 14:51-52 and explores the concept of second-chance theology through the life of John Mark. The problem underlying this research is that the brief narrative of the anonymous young man in the Gospel of Mark is often overlooked in biblical interpretation, despite its potential theological implications regarding failure, restoration, and discipleship. The purpose of this study is to analyze the narrative identity of the young man, commonly associated with John Mark, and to investigate how his life trajectory reflects God’s redemptive work through second chances. This research employs a qualitative approach using biblical narrative analysis, literary criticism, and theological reflection based on canonical texts such as Mark 14:51-52, Acts 13:13, Acts 15:36-40, Colossians 4:10, and 2 Timothy 4:11, supported by historical and theological literature. The analysis reveals that the Gospel writer intentionally preserved the embarrassing episode of the fleeing young man as a theological testimony of transformation. The findings indicate that John Mark’s journeyfrom failure in Gethsemane, desertion in missionary work, to restoration and recognition by apostolic leaders—illustrates the dynamic process of spiritual formation through grace and mentorship. The novelty of this research lies in interpreting Mark 14:51-52 not merely as a historical detail but as a narrative self-disclosure that frames the Gospel of Mark within a theology of restoration and second chances. Ultimately, this study concludes that the story of John Mark demonstrates that personal failure does not disqualify individuals from divine calling but may become the starting point of transformative ministry.
