Abstract

This study aimed at finding out the selection criteria considered by individual customers in choosing Islamic (Syariah) banks; assessing the degree of customers knowledge on Islamic banks products; and finally to determine customers’ attitudes towards Islamic banks. The sample of the study was individual customers of Bank Muamalat and Bank Syariah Mandiri located in Banyumas Regency. There were two steps employed in analyzing the data: descriptive and factor analysis. The result of the study shows that there are seven factors to be considered by customers in patronizing Islamic banks. Among those factors are: perception, process, tangible, price, people, social and location. The most important factor considered by customers is perception factor. Moreover, customers’ knowledge on Islamic banks is still narrow, some do not even familiar with the products offered by Islamic banks. Religion is not the main reason for customer to patronize Islamic bank, other important reason is the level of profit sharing offered by the banks.

Abstract

This article is a review of the literature that aims at bringing into surface the issue of risk management in equity-based financing which is currently less attractive to Islamic banks. There are several forms of Islamic financing offered to potential borrower. Equity financing is less favorable as compared to debt financing due to high risks associated with it. Substantial numbers of strategies have been developed by researchers to mitigate the financing risks nonetheless the attempt is far from succeed. It is evidenced in the literature that both investors and financial intermediaries tend to overlooked profit and loss sharing mode of financing.  Meanwhile Equity financing is adored to be the best form of financing to be offered to small business since it is operating under the principle of justice.  Profit and loss sharing mechanism relieve both fund providers and borrowers from financial burden.  This article shall review potential risks embedded in equity financing and strategies to overcome the problem. -----Artikel ini merupakan kajian literatur yang bertujuan untuk membahas manajemen resiko bagi pembiayaan syariah berbasis ekuitas yang saat ini kurang diminati oleh bank syariah.  Bank syariah menawarkan beberapa bentuk pembiayaan kepada calon nasabah. Pembiayaan berbasis bagi hasil dianggap kurang menguntungkan dibandingkan dengan pembiayaan berbasis hutang karena adanya risiko tinggi terkait pembiayaan bagi hasil. Sejumlah strategi telah dikembangkan oleh peneliti untuk meminimalisir resiko pembiayaan namun strategi tersebut masih jauh dari sukses karena belum mampu meningkatkan jumlah pembiayaan berbasis bagi hasil yang disalurkan oleh bank syariah. Meskipun demikian pembiayaan syariah berbasis ekuitas dianggap sebagai bentuk terbaik dari pembiayaan yang akan ditawarkan kepada usaha kecil karena beroperasi atas prinsip keadilan. Mekanisme pembiayaan berbasis laba rugi meringankan pihak yang bermitra, dalam hal ini bank Islam dan usaha kecil, dari beban keuangan. Artikel ini akan meninjau potensi risiko yang melekat pada pembiayaan ekuitas dan strategi untuk mengatasinya

Abstract

This research is entitled “Ethical Intervention and Moral Development ofStudents”. The purpose of the study is to compare the moral development of studentsfrom Accounting Departments with students of other departments at Economic FacultyUnsoed. The instrument used to measure the moral development of business studentswas defining issue test (DIT). Research findings indicate that students who haveattended ethical class have better moral development as compared to those who havenot taken the course. Moreover Accounting students have better moral development ascompared to students from other departments. Based on the findings, it isrecommended that ethics should be offered to business students since it appears toaffect students moral development. In addition, the inclusion of Ethics as a coursemust be offered to other departments too, as the case of accounting course. Lecturesshould provide simulation as a method of teaching in class in order to give betterimpact on students.

Abstract

The study entitled An Analysis on Service Quality Based on ISO 9001: 2000 Clause 8 is aimed at evaluating the quality of service provided by Installation of Pharmacy at Prof Dr. Margono Soekarjo Hospital. The tools used for analysis are statistical quality control (SQC). Among the tools used are check sheet, pareto diagram, fishbone diagram, and control chart. The Data was analyzed by comparing the length of timerequired to serve customers, before and after process improvement. The conclusion obtained are: first, there has been improvement in the length of time required to serve customer from 75,8 to 41,2 minutes; second, the used of statistical quality control are efficient and effective in controlling the service quality at the Pharmaceutical Installation; Third, Control Chart is very useful for determining the specification line for the purpose of controlling; finally, Quality Circle members must continuously be educated on the tools used in ISO 9001: 2000 in order to improve work performance.

Abstract

This study aimed at explaining the influence of disruptive innovation on business performance with competitive advantage as a mediator and networking capability as moderate. The tool of analysis used was Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). The sample size of this research was 120 owners and/or managers of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Purwokerto areas. The result showed that disruptive innovation has a positive effect on both business performance and competitive advantage. The study supported the view that competitive advantage has a positive impact on business performance.  Also, competitive advantage act as mediating variable on the relationship between disruptive innovation and business performance. Finally, the last hypothesis stated that networking as moderation variable of disruptive innovation to business performance was supported.

Abstract

Financial conglomerates are financial institutions that provide all forms of financial services on the top of ordinary banking service. The quality of financial conglomerates’ performance depends on a number of factors namely ownership structure, internal capital market, and resources sharing. Research on the performance of financial conglomerates is still lacking in Indonesia.  This study, therefore, is among the first attempt to assess the influence of ownership structure, internal capital market and resources sharing on the performance financial conglomerate firms in Indonesia, from the industrial-organizational theory perspectives. The methodology employed is the ex-post facto research design, using secondary data. The population of the study is all the conglomerate's firms listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange between 2010 until 2015 persistently. The study used regression as a tool of analysis. Findings supported three out of the five hypotheses proposed.  Efficient subsidy and managerial ownership had no significant influence on firms’ performance. Efficient transfer segment had a positive influence on firms’ performance.  Similarly, the result supported the proposition that intangible and tangible resources had a positive effect on firms’ performance.DOI: https://doi.org/10.26905/jkdp.v21i2.649

Abstract

Competence is needed in every scope of the company, including micro and small, and medium enterprises. Competence to manage a business is needed to improve performance. In determining whether or not a business is booming, one of the supporting factors is competency. This study uses quantitative methods by distributing questionnaires purposively to MSME employees in various regions in Indonesia. 300 questionnaires were distributed and 150 were returned. This research was conducted for about 6 months. The data processing method used is using the SEM -PLS method. This questionnaire's dissemination was distributed in various places in Indonesia, namely in Tana Toraja, Purwokerto, and Ajibarang. The questionnaires distributed were around 300. The return was 131. The research method was quantitative using a simple regression method. The results showed that the relationship between Knowledge Competence and MSME Performance was significant, with a T-statistic of 3.479 (> 1.96). The original sample estimate value is positive, which is 0.253, which shows that the relationship between Knowledge Competence and MSME Performance is positive. Thus, the H1 hypothesis is accepted, Showing that the relationship between Attitude Competence and MSME Performance is significant, with a T-statistic of 4.316 (> 1.96). The original sample estimate value is positive, which is 0.323, which indicates that the direction of the relationship between Attitude Competency and MSME Performance is positive. Thus, the H2 hypothesis is accepted.

Abstract

Tujuan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah melakukan pendampingan motivasi kewirausahaan dan keterampilan memberikan pelatihan diversifikasi produk olahan berbahan dasar campuran aneka sayur khususnya bagi warga kelurahan Bantarsoka dan hibah peralatan produksi untuk mengingkatkan produksi Cheese Stick Herbal. Metode pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang digunakan yaitu memberikan pendampingan baik itu berupa motivasi dalam kewirausahaan dan pemberian keterampilan baru yaitu membuat makanan olahan campuran sayuran serta memberikan pelatihan diversifikasi produk. Target utama pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah seluruh anggota pengusaha Cheese Stick Herbal. Hasil dari pengabdian ini adalah anggota pengusaha Cheese Stick Herbal menjadi lebih termotivasi untuk melakukan wirausaha, lebih memahami produksi yang efektif dan efisien serta menciptakan inovasi baru yang dapat menambah nilai hasil produksi.
