Abstract

This research aimed at finding out the effectiveness of Herringbone Technique in improving students’ reading comprehension at the fifth semester student of Informatics Study Program Faculty of Computer Engineering Cokroaminoto Palopo University. This research applied a pre-experimental method with one group pre-test and post-test. The population of this research was the fifth semester student of Informatics Study Program Faculty of Computer Engineering Cokroaminoto Palopo University. The sample of this research was class 5A consisted of 40 students, the sample was taken by using random sampling technique. There are two kinds of instrument used in this research, namely test and questionnaire. The result of the research shows that the reading comprehension ability of the fifth semester student of Informatics Study Program Faculty of Computer Engineering Cokroaminoto Palopo University was very effective. It was proven by the mean score in post-test was 7.55 and the T-test value 43.375 which was higher than the T-table value 2.315. And the students were interested in learning reading comprehension using Herringbone technique.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the students’ perception toward fun English day. The population of this research is the third-year students of SMAN 2 Palopo. The sample of this research is selected through purposive sampling technique. One class represented as the sample that is class XII IPA 1. The result of this research shows that the students’ perception toward fun English day gained score 47 which is classified as very positive perception and most students stated that fun English day activity was very effective and excellent activity for the improvement and development of their English. Finally, the researcher concluded that fun English day was excellent activity for improving and developing the students’ English competence. In other words, most of them admitted that fun English day could effectively and significantly improve and develop their English.

Abstract

Abstract

This research deals with the second year students’ perception of mind mapping in learning vocabulary at Palopo Cokroaminoto University. The population of this research was all The Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program in Cokroaminoto Palopo University in academic year 2025. The total number of population was 10 students. The researcher used the purposive sampling. Based on the findings and discussion in the previous chapter, the researcher concludes that the English students give positive perception mind mapping in Palopo Cokroaminoto University. It is supported by students’ answer about mind mapping that “mind mapping is good and appropriate to be used in learning vocabulary.
