Abstract

Toddlers are an effective age to develop their various potentials which include physical, motor, cognitive, social-emotional development and language development. One of the child's developmental tasks is toileting skills or what are known as urinating and defecating skills. A skill that should be introduced early in toddlers to prevent enuresis is potty training. This study aims to analyze the effect of giving potty training on the independence of defecation and urination in toddlers. The type of research used is Quasy Experiment with one group pretest-posttest design research design. This study design only conducted an intervention in one group, without comparison. The population in this study were all children under five as many as 85 people. The sampling technique used purposive sampling so that the sample size in this study amounted to 30 people. Data analysis using Paired Samples Test. The results showed that there where there is an effect of giving potty training on defecation and urination skills in toddlers (p-value 0.000 <α 0.05). So it can be concluded that giving Potty Training can improve defecation and urination skills in toddlers.

Abstract

Background: Hypertension is still a problem in the world and developing countries. Hypertension is the number one cause of death globally. This problem will continue to arise if the patient does not have regular control and hypertension checks must be carried out continuously with the aim of maintaining normal blood pressure levels and accompanied by lifestyle changes. Objective: To determine the relationship between family support and management of hypertension in Sikumana Health Center, Maulafa District, Kupang City. Methods: This type of research is a quantitative research with a cross sectional design. The population is hypertensive patients who conduct examinations at the Sikumana Health Center, Maulafa District, Kupang City, the sample used is 175 respondents, data collection using a questionnaire. Results: Family support has the most appropriate category as many as 4 respondents (2.3%), enough as many as 8 respondents (4.6%) and the less category as many as 163 respondents (93.1%), while self-management is the most appropriate category 12 respondents (6.9%), sufficient as many as 59 respondents (33.7%) and less as many as 104 respondents (59.4%). The results of the chi square test obtained a P value of 0.02 which stated that there was a significant relationship between family support and self-management of hypertension at the Sikumana Health Center, Maulafa District, Kupang City. Conclusion: The majority of respondents family support for hypertension sufferers at the Sikumana Health Center, Maulafa District, Kupang City is in the sufficient category, the majority of the respondents for self-management of hypertension sufferers at the Sikumana Health Center Maulafa District, Kupang City is in the less category. The results of the analysis show that there is a significant relationship between family support and management. self-hypertension at the Sikumana Health Center, Maulafa District, Kupang City.

Abstract

Learning planning is a design or preparation made by a lecturer regarding learning which is his responsibility before carrying out learning, including making a skills lab learning design. The results of a preliminary study at the Nursing Undergraduate Study Program, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Nusa Nipa in planning the learning of child nursing lab skills, still found several problems, namely in the analysis of the learner and the environment and the Semester Learning Plan (SLP) which had not been maximally available and planned. This can affect the implementation of laboratory learning (skill lab) which is less than optimal and in the end the competence of students is not achieved (Depkes RI, 2000). This study aims to describe the picture of improving the quality of learning through the implementation of learning planning in the Child Nursing Lab skills in the Bachelor of Nursing Study Program, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Nusa Nipa. This research was conducted using a qualitative descriptive research type with embedded case study research. Data collection techniques were carried out by means of in-depth interviews and participatory observation through focus group discussions. The research population was 34 students in Semester V nursing undergraduate students at Nusa Nipa University for the academic year 2020/2021. Sampling using total sampling. Data processing was carried out by means of descriptive content (content analysis) using an interactive analysis model which included data collection, data reduction, data presentation and verification/drawing conclusions. The results of the study showed that there was an increase in the quality of learning through the implementation of learning planning in the Child Nursing skills lab according to the SLP and there was already a practicum guidebook in the form of SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) and Semester Learning Plan (SLP). The conclusion of the lesson plan for child nursing lab skills in the Bachelor of Nursing Study Program, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Nusa Nipa, has been well planned in a structured manner and has been well implemented.

Abstract

Introduction: An understanding of nursing theory requires critical thinking skills. Therefore effective learning methods are needed to improve student understanding. One method of learning that can overcome this is the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) method and the Student Team Achievement Divisions (STAD) method. The aim was to analyze the effectiveness of CIRC learning models and STAD Method on student learning outcomes and collaboration. Methods: This study used a quasi-experimental method consisting of two experimental groups with the study design was a post-test design with two comparison treatments. The population in this study were all semester two undergraduate students nursing as many as 30 people divided into two groups—the sampling technique conducted by total sampling. We analyzed the data using the Mann Whitney test with α ≤ 0.05. Results: The mean rank of learning outcomes in the CIRC method was 19.43, and the STAD method was 11.57. The p-value was 0.007 (<0.05), which means that there was a significant difference between learning outcomes in the CIRC group and the STAD group. The mean rank value for student collaboration on the CIRC method was 15.50, and the STAD method was 15.50. The p-value was 1,000 (>0.05), which means there was no significant difference between the collaboration in the CIRC group and the STAD group. Conclussions: There were significant differences between learning outcomes in the CIRC group and the STAD Group. However, there was no significant difference between collaboration in both groups.

Abstract

Consuming vegetables and fruit is one of the requirements in fulfilling a balanced nutritional menu. Vegetables are very important to be consumed, especially for school-age children. If a child has good eating habits, that is by applying healthy and balanced nutrition from an early age, these habits will have an impact until adult age. One of the efforts that can be done to make children want to consume vegetables is by applying peer modeling motivation. Modeling or imitating behavior is matching or imitating the behavior of others who are considered exemplary and can involve certain symbols. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of applying the peer modeling motivation model on the motivation and behavior of eating vegetables in preschool age children. The type of research used was a quasi-experimental research design with one group pretest posttest design. The population in this study were 34 preschool age children. The sampling technique used in this study was purposive sampling technique based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. The sample size in this study was 25 children who did not want to eat vegetables. The results of the Wilcoxon test show that there is an effect of applying the peer modeling motivation model on the motivation and behavior of eating vegetables in preschoolers (p=0.000, p<α, α=0.05). It can be concluded that the application of the peers modeling motivation model can increase the motivation and behavior of eating vegetables in preschoolers.

Abstract

The government has set a target for Indonesia to become malaria-free; However, this goal has not yet been fully achieved, particularly in eastern regions such as Sikka Regency in East Nusa Tenggara. One of the factors contributing to the spread of malaria-carrying mosquitoes is the proximity of openings, wall density, and the distance of livestock enclosures from residential buildings, especially when less than 1 meter apart. Based on this, field observations were conducted in malaria-affected locations. These observations were followed by experiments using *Ecotect Analysis* to analyze wind patterns and velocities by comparing the distance between openings, wall density, and the distance of livestock enclosures at 1 meter and more than 5 meters. The study revealed that while distance does not influence wind velocity, it significantly affects wind flow patterns. Greater distances between openings result in broader air circulation patterns, which, in turn, impact the spread of mosquitoes in the area.

Abstract

Bayi dengan berat badan lahir rendah (BBLR) adalah bayi dengan berat badan < 2500 gram. Bayi Berat Lahir Rendah akan mengalami banyak masalah antara lain hipotermi, sindrom gawat nafas, perdarahan intra kranial, hiperbilirubineamia dan hipoglikemia, masalah yang lain adalah bayi biasanya tidak mampu untuk melakukan aktivitas minum, sehingga mempunyai masalah pertumbuhan dan perkembangan (Ulfianasari et al., 2023) Hal ini menyebabkan bayi BBLR mengalami kesulitan menghisap dan menelan, kemampuan minum pada bayi dipengaruhi oleh keberadaan refleks rooting (mencari), sucking (menghisap), dan swallowing (menelan) yang akan berubah menjadi terkendali mulai usia 3 bulan dan fungsinya menjadi berkembang, yaitu kemampuan untuk makan dan minum Bayingka kematian BBLR adalah dengan mengatasi masalah yang terjadi dengan reflek hisap yang lemah, yaitu dengan memberikan stimulasi Oral Sensorimotor Therapy sejak dini berupa sentuhan pemijatan terhadap jaringan otot disekitar mulut. Tujuan penelitian ini menjelaskan pengaruh stimulasi oral terhadap reflek hisap bayi BBLR. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Hasil Yang diperoleh adalah terjadinya peningkatan kemampuan otot menghisap dan menelan pada bayi, yaitu pada bayi 1 dan 2  pada hari ketiga diberikan Oral Sensoriotor Therapy otot menghisap dan menelan sudah kuat, lama menyusui bayi pun bertambah. Ditandai dengan peningkatan berat badan menjadi bayi 1 2000 garm, dan bayi 2 1750 gram.  Penerapan Oral Sensorimotor Therapy dapat meningkatkan kemampuan minum bayi, meningkatkan kekuatan, kontrol, dan  koordinasi otot-otot mulu. Kesimpulan terjadi peningkatan pada kemampuan otot refleks menghisap dan menelan pada kedua bayi.

Abstract

Pengambilan darah sebagai tindakan keperawatan pada anak dengan Dengue Hemoragik Fever (DHF) dapat menimbulkan nyeri. Sehingga diperlukan teknik untuk mengalihkan nyeri pada anak saat pengambilan darah. Tujuan dari studi kasus ini adalah untuk menganalisis asuhan keperawatan pada anak DHF dengan pemberian distraction card untuk mengurangi nyeri pada anak usia prasekolah saat dilakukan tindakan invasive. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah skala nyeri FLACC. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ada perubahan dimana klien 1 skala nyeri dari 7 (nyeri berat) menjadi skala nyeri 2 (nyeri ringan), pada klien ke 2 dari skala nyeri 5 (nyeri sedang) menjadi skala nyeri 3 (nyeri ringan), sehingga dapat disimpulkan ada pengaruh teknik distraction card terhadap nyeri pada saat pengambilan darah. Diharapkan petugas kesehatan khususnya perawat dapat menerapkan distraction card pada saat dilakukan tindakan keperawatan untuk mencegah trauma pada anak saat hospitalisasi.

Abstract

Stimulation, Detection, and Early Intervention for Child Development (SDIDTK) is one of the activities for monitoring the growth and development of toddlers aged 0-72 months to detect any developmental deviations in children of this age group. If deviations are found, early intervention is conducted as a corrective measure to restore normal growth and development or prevent further worsening of the deviation. The purpose of this study is to explain the impact of providing Off the Job Training (OJT) on SDIDTK for toddlers on increasing the knowledge of healthcare workers in the Nelle Health Center work area.This research is quantitative in nature. The study design is a quasi-experimental approach with a One-group Pretest-posttest Design. The instrument used was a questionnaire. Sampling was done using purposive sampling technique with a sample size of 30 respondents. The results of the study showed that before the OJT was given, the level of knowledge among healthcare workers was at a moderate level (56.7%) and low (43.3%). After the OJT was provided, there was an improvement, with good knowledge (70%) and moderate knowledge (30%). Based on the study's results, it can be concluded that there is an impact of off the job training on SDIDTK for toddlers on increasing the knowledge of healthcare workers in the Nelle Health Center work area. It is recommended that healthcare workers who have not yet participated in the training should seek opportunities to do so through various sources, while those who have already participated in SDIDTK training should implement it in accordance with the knowledge they have acquired.

Abstract

Pandemi Covid-19 sudah melanda dunia selama setahun lebih dari tahun 2019 namun warga RW 009 Kelurahan Waioti Kecamatan Alok Timur Maumere belum semuanya mematuhi protokol kesehatan pencegahan penularan Covid-19 yaitu memakai masker, mencuci tangan serta menjaga jarak, dengan berbagai alasan yang dikemukan seperti tidak mempunyai masker, masker membuat sesak napas, memakai masker tidak benar, lupa untuk cuci tangan setelah bepergian keluar rumah, anak-anak yang tidak bersekolah tetap berkumpul bermain bersama-sama tanpa memakai masker, masyarakat dewasapun masih ada yang duduk berkumpul di sore dan malam hari, masih ada kegiatan keluarga yang dilaksanakan misalnya arisan RT/RW dan arisan keluarga serta tuntutan pekerjaan yang tidak bisa untuk melakukan jaga jarak seperti pedagang yang berjualan di pasar. Salah satu protocol kesehatan pencegahan penularan Covid-19 adalah pembatasan social yang berdampak pada pelaksanaan program posyandu lansia sejak Maret 2020 tidak dijalankan dan gencarnya berita hoax selama pandemi Covid-19 membuat warga khususnya para lansia menjadi takut untuk berobat ke fasilitas kesehatan sehingga mereka yang memiliki penyakit kronis tidak mendapatkan pengobatan yang baik sebagaimana sebelum pandemi.Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah memberikan sosialisasi tentang protokoler kesehatan pencegahan penularan COVID-19 dan  pemeriksaan kesehatan bagi lansia di RW 009 Kelurahan Waioti. Hasil kegiatan ini dibuktikan dengan peningkatan pemahaman dan perubahan perilaku warga di mana warga secara antusias menyiapkan tempat cuci tangan di depan rumah masing-masing, memakai masker dengan benar dan mengurangi kegiatan berkumpul di lingkungan rumah, serta diketahui hasil pemeriksaan kesehatan pada lansia. Kesimpulan sosialisasi tentang Protokoler Kesehatan Pencegahan Penularan COVID-19 dan pemeriksaan kesehatan bagi lansia di RW 009 kelurahan Waioti berdampak pada peningkatan pemahaman masyarakat tentang COVID-19 dan cara pencegahan penularannya sehingga dapat mengubah perilaku masyarakat untuk lebih taat dan patuh pada protokoler kesehatan pencegahan COVID-19 sehingga dapat memutus mata rantai penularan. Dan pemeriksaan kesehatan pada lansia membantu para lansia untuk lebih tertib lagi dalam menjaga pola hidup sehat selama masa pandemic khususnya dalam masa pembatasan sosial berskala besar yang semua aktivitas dilakukan dari rumah dengan metode daring/online.Kata Kunci: Sosialisasi, Protokoler kesehatan, COVID-19, Lansia
