Abstract

This research aims to investigate the pivotal role of leadership and business strategy in addressing the challenges of the rapidly changing and uncertain business environment known as VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous). In the context of ongoing globalization and technological transformation, organizations are facing increasing pressure to adapt and innovate. This study employs a comprehensive literature review methodology to identify key elements of effective leadership in managing the uncertainty, complexity, diversity, and ambiguity associated with VUCA. The research results yield a leadership and strategy model that integrates essential elements, including adaptive leadership, collaborative leadership, and responsive strategies. This model provides practical guidance for business leaders in developing strategies to tackle VUCA challenges and capitalize on existing opportunities. In a fast-paced business world, a deeper understanding of how to effectively combine these elements becomes the key to long-term success. This research holds significant relevance in understanding how organizations can achieve sustainability in the VUCA era and enhance their competitiveness. The proposed model offers a framework that can be applied across various industry sectors and can assist organizations in facing the challenges of an increasingly uncertain business environment more successfully. Keywords: Adaptation; Business; Leadership; Strategy; VUCA World.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/E3J/v6i2.124-132

Waste management is one approach to achieving a greener future. It is also related to SDGs 11 and 12 regarding sustainable cities and communities, as well as responsible consumption and production. Tonjong village is one of the villages in Tajur Halang District, Bogor, which faces significant challenges in managing the large volume of household waste, much of which remains unprocessed. To address this issue, the Business Administration Program, Faculty of Law, Social and Political Sciences (FHISIP), Universitas Terbuka, launched a community service program aimed at improving household waste management through socialization of waste management and composting training in Tonjong village. There are fifteen participants in the community service, including residents of Tonjong village, four neighborhood units, one representative from the neighborhood association, farmers' members, and administrators from Bank Sampah. The outcome of this program is increased ecological literacy and increased awareness among participants in managing waste and processing organic waste into compost. This initiative not only supports better environmental practices but also creates opportunities for the community to generate income by selling compost, with proceeds used to fund future community activities.

Abstract

This article delves into the significance of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) in education, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. MOOCs, accessible to all at no cost, have emerged as a vital solution for remote learning challenges. They offer flexibility, accessibility, and adaptability, enabling uninterrupted learning from home. MOOCs hold several advantages. They empower self-directed learning by accommodating varying schedules. Interaction and collaboration thrive through discussion forums and shared projects, fostering social learning. Lifelong learning is promoted through continuous skill enhancement. Digital literacy is honed, vital in a digital world. MOOCs facilitate affordable distance learning without relocation. They grant access to prestigious universities and offer certificates for career advancement. While transformative, MOOCs can't fully replace traditional education due to challenges like limited direct interaction. They should complement existing systems. In Indonesia, MOOCs can improve education accessibility, especially in remote areas. Yet, equitable quality and widespread internet access remain crucial concerns.
