Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of Emotional Intelligence on Affective Commitment, Person-Organization Fit to Affective Commitment, and the effect of Emotional Intelligence and Person-Organization Fit on Affective Commitment. The research design was a field study using survey methodology. The study conducted in a PT. Adira Dinamika Multifinance Bandar Lampung. In this study, the research design included a causal relationship between two or more variables (Fadila, 2020). Judging from the type of data, this study was quantitative research. The study emphasized the analysis of numerical data which were processed by using statistical methods. The research variables consisted of variables: Emotional Intelligence, Person-Organization Fit, and Affective Commitment. All scales used a 5-point agreement – disagreement Likert format. The questionnaires developed for the purpose of isolating factors affecting employee retention. Participants in this study consisted of 66 employees recruited as part of the investigation. A validity test had been done by using the correlation Pearson’s Product-Moment Correlation. Furthermore, the reliability of the questionnaire research used the alpha Cronbach's method. The results of this study were supported by the result of the previous study conducted by (Angga, 2019) and (Solomon, 2019). It stated that Emotional Intelligence did not affect Affective Commitment, Person-Organization Fit affected Affective Commitment. Furthermore, Emotional Intelligence and Person-Organization Fit affected Affective Commitment. This study carried to light original and valuable findings related to the effect of emotional intelligence and person-organization fit after showing expected results in terms of affective commitment.Keywords      :  Emotional Intelligence,Person-Organization Fit, Affective Commitment.

Abstract

The research is aimed at knowing the influence ofmotivation and compensation on lecturers jobperformance at Informatics and Business Institute (IBI)Darmajaya Bandar Lampung. The problems of theresearch are 1) Do motivation and compensation receivedby the lecturers of IBI Darmajaya have an effect on theirjob performance? 2) How far is the relationship betweenmotivation and compensation and job performance? 3)Which factor is more dominant between motivation andcompensation that affects the job performance?This research uses double linear regression analysismethod. The variables of the research are motivation andcompensation as independent variables and jobperformance as dependent variable. To know theinfluence of independent variable on dependent variable ispartially used ttest and to know the influence ofindependent variable on dependent variable used Ftest.This research is a population research or a census studywhere 51 respondents taken out of the whole number ofactive fulltimelecturers at IBI Darmajaya.The result of the research indicates that motivation andcompensation variable affects lecturers job performance,both simultaneously and partially. In addition, in theresult of the research it is found that motivation variable ismore dominant that compensation variable in affectinglecturers job performance.KEY WORDS :Motivation, Compensation, and JobPerformance

Abstract

In academics, lecturers who have good emotional intelligence and good service to students can do something good in their work situations. In dealing with dailywork routines, a lecturer must be able to perform well in harmony with the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. The purpose of this study was to analyze the emotional intelligence of lecturers in Management study program, Institute of Informatics and Business Darmajaya. The method in this study used descriptive quantitative with a sample of 42 lecturers of the management study program. The results of this studyindicate that the emotional intelligence in Management study program, Institute of Informatics and Business Darmajaya had an average score range of 151.9. It was in the vulnerable range of values 145.8 - 179.4 in the high category. It showed that thecomponent of emotional intelligence, namely self-awareness: being able to introspect oneself well into the high category. in Management study program, Institute of Informatics and Business Darmajaya who were committed to their work in intelligent emotions, for those who were emotionally intelligent was able to motivate themselves, motivate others and control their emotions, for those who have insight when making decisions, for those who empathize with understanding thepsychology of others and build and maintain good social relations.Keywords—Emotional Intelligence, Lecturer
