Abstract

This research aims to describe students' conceptual errors in solving problems and arithmetic series in terms of cognitive style and to determine the causal factors. This type of research is qualitative descriptive research. Checking the validity of the data uses triangulation techniques. The results of this research show that, conceptualization errors made by subjects with Field Dependent and Field Independent cognitive styles are: 1) not writing down important information from the questions, 2) not being precise in choosing the formula, 3) not being precise in applying the formula, and 4) not being precise enough correct in the calculation process. The contributing factors are: 1) Feeling that you have forgotten to write down important information from the questions, 2) Having a habit of answering questions, 3) Feeling that you already understand the solution process, 4) Not paying attention to the calculation process, 5) Lack of interest in learning mathematics, and 6) Being in a rush -Hurry in solving problems. The importance of this research is to prevent or minimize students from making the same mistakes in solving arithmetic sequences and series problems. This training was attended by 30 young people from Latimojong Village with diverse educational backgrounds and professions. The results achieved from this training include. Improvement in Digital Literacy: About 85% of the participants demonstrated a significant increase in their understanding of basic digital technology and its use. Young people who were previously unfamiliar with the internet are now able to search for information and use social media for productive purposes. (2). Development of Practical Skills: The training participants have mastered basic ICT skills, such as operating office software, creating digital content, and using other productivity applications. Some participants have even started developing local content to promote through social media and blogs. (3) Awareness of Digital Security: The training also successfully increased awareness of the importance of protecting personal data and ethics in internet use. Participants now understand digital security risks, such as online fraud, and have been trained to safeguard their personal data After the training, participants received support and mentoring from the facilitator team to ensure the application of the materials learned. Abstract

Recording of livestock reproduction is necessary for farmers to improve reproductive aspects of their animals. A common issue faced by beef cattle farmers is their limited knowledge; they often rely on experience without a solid foundation of technical knowledge. The goal of the program is to enhance the knowledge of smallholder farmers about reproductive management, thereby increasing the productivity of beef cattle. The target audience for this activity is the members of the farming community in Teluk Kampe Village. The methods used in this service program include extension and training on reproductive management and the application of recording. The outcomes of this service activity are reflected in the increased knowledge of farmers in Teluk Kampe Village and their motivation to improve the reproductive management of their beef cattle, based on the analysis of pre-test and post-test results. The application of reproductive function improvement technologies for beef cattle is expected to help boost productivity and improve the economic situation of smallholder farmers if implemented properly.

Abstract

One of the efforts to increase the calving rate in cattle is by applying artificial insemination guns. The main issue currently faced by the partners is the lack of implementation of artificial insemination guns and veterinary personnel, resulting in a low birth rate. The methods used in this community service program include focus group discussions and training on artificial insemination technology, animal health management, as well as livestock fattening, and feed processing based on local raw materials for pregnant cows. The outcome of this activity is reflected in the increased knowledge of the "Makmur Sejahtera" farmer group in Teluk Kampe Village, and the motivation to apply beef cattle reproductive technology, as analyzed through pre-test and post-test results. The implementation of beef cattle reproductive technology is expected to help improve productivity and boost the economy of the partners or members of the "Makmur Sejahtera" farmer group if applied effectively.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of age on carcass yield and prime cuts in steer Brahman Cross (BX) cattle. The research was conducted from September 2 to 22, 2015, at PT Cianjur Arta Makmur slaughterhouse, Cianjur Regency, West Java. A total of 68 steer BX cattle were used, divided into four age groups based on permanent incisor eruption: PI0 (<18 months, n=15), PI2 (18–24 months, n=19), PI4 (>24–36 months, n=21), and PI6 (>36–42 months, n=13). Measured variables included slaughter weight, hot carcass weight, cold carcass weight, carcass percentage, and prime cut yields (tenderloin, striploin, cube roll). Data were analyzed using one-way ANOVA. The results showed no significant differences (p>0.05) among age groups in terms of slaughter weight (507.07 ± 44.58 kg), hot carcass weight (287.97 ± 23.85 kg), cold carcass weight (273.31 ± 23.57 kg), carcass percentage (53.95 ± 1.92%), and prime cut weights: tenderloin (3.73 ± 0.39 kg), striploin (10.27 ± 1.28 kg), cube roll (5.01 ± 0.61 kg). Although age did not significantly affect carcass and cut yields, the highest retail sales value was observed in PI2 cattle at Rp23,110,648. These findings suggest that while age level does not significantly influence carcass or prime cut weights, economic returns may vary based on carcass composition and retail pricing.

Abstract

To meet the requirements of the fourth industrial revolution, education plays a critical role in creating skilled and marketable human capital, so an instructional model that promotes student self-directed learning is needed. The digital era has had a major effect on English Language Teaching (ELT), allowing teachers to perform distance or combined learning. Blended learning is a learning model that focuses on promoting student individuality through the usage of various mobile technologies. Consequently, The purpose of this research is to provide information about an instructional template for a new blended learning model that uses the ADDIE model to help students develop self-directed learning. The ADDIE model is a modular framework that includes all of the required elements for creating effective ELT instruction. This study was conducted in Universitas Muhammadiyah Parepare. This paper also discusses a number of modern technologies that enable students to obtain individualized attention and new learning opportunities. As a result of this research, a new blended learning model has been developed to assist students in developing self-directed learning skills in English through the use of a variety of modern technologies.

Abstract

Some cattle breeds that have evolved hornless versions include indigenous cattle. This research aimed to identify phenotypic and morphometric traits in Polled Bali cattle (PBC) as the indigenous cattle, this research is important for breed characterization. This study involved 165 heads of PBC, which included 60 males and 105 females. The lack of horns in PBC causes the interaction of the poll gene (P) and the scur gene (Sc). The PBC coat color is mainly reddish-brown (>40%), with black color on the hoof (>90%), switch of the tail (>68%), eyelid (>100%), and muzzle (>96%), with reddish-brown color on the mouth lash (>82%), and white color on legs (>50%), and rump patch (>50%). PBC are mainly humpless (100%), small on the dewlap size (100%), a thick line on the dorsal (>48%), and poll in males (82.76%), in females (52.27%), and scurs in males (17.24%) in females (47.73%). Net Replacement Rate (NRR) values were 145% (male) and 140% (female) and indicated that South Sulawesi Province was still capable of producing seed stock per year.

Abstract

Sidenreng Rappang Regency is one of the duck production centers in South Sulawesi Province. However, most duck eggs are still marketed in fresh form with limited innovation in processing and packaging. The traditional management of existing processed products generally results in low competitiveness. This condition highlights the importance of innovation in processing and packaging to optimize local potential and contribute to improving community welfare. The purpose of this program was to empower PKK women’s groups in Manisa Village by enhancing their skills in producing oven-salted eggs and product packaging. The activities were carried out using a participatory approach through three stages: socialization, technical training on salted egg processing with an oven, and packaging training. The implementation showed a significant increase in participants’ knowledge across all aspects. Pre-test and post-test results indicated that basic knowledge of salted egg production increased from 37% to 76%, production using the wet method from 38% to 77%, and the use of ovens and packaging rose from 25–30% to 79%. This twofold increase reflects the effectiveness of practice-based training, where participants not only understood the concepts but were also able to apply the skills independently. Participants were also able to practice using vacuum plastic and attaching labels. The participants' response was very positive, as seen from their enthusiasm in the discussion and hands-on practice
