Abstract

Bantaragung Village, Sindangwangi District, Majalengka Regency, is a village that is currently growing rapidly and has been named as a tourism village and has earned a label as a potential tourism village from the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf). However, in its development, its popularity as a tourism village has not been matched by the speed of increasing management capacity and other supporting factors, so it has not been optimal as a commercial tourism destination. The purpose of this study is to identify the factors affecting the development of a tourism village in Bantaragung Village based on the perceptions of the village community using the Sustainable livelihood approach. The sampling method used non-probability sampling with a purposive sampling technique on 30 respondents. The data analysis employed a quantitative descriptive method with five livelihood asset variable objects: natural, human, financial, social, and village infrastructure. The findings of the study show that the livelihood framework assets that primarily affect the development of Tourism Villages in Bantaragung are natural resources, followed by financial, social, human resources, and village infrastructure.

Abstract

The use of virtual reality as a marketing tool for conventional tourism has seen an increasing adoption, as it enhances the engagement between virtual tourists and the showcased destinations. This study evaluates the effectiveness of Virtual Reality (VR) in enhancing the tourism experience at Alamendah Tourism Village, Bandung. A quantitative approach was used, with data collected through structured questionnaires distributed to 385 potential tourists who had experienced the village’s VR tour. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was employed to analyze the relationships between system quality, immersive perception, authenticity, satisfaction, and visit intention. The analysis process was supported by the SmartPLS application. The results indicate that system quality significantly influences immersive perception and authenticity, which in turn affects tourist satisfaction and visit intention. Moreover, immersive perception was found to mediate the relationship between system quality and authenticity. This study concludes that investment in high-quality VR technology and the creation of authentic immersive content is essential for tourism village managers to enhance tourist engagement and satisfaction. These findings suggest that VR can optimize the unique features of tourism villages, such as cultural authenticity and natural beauty. Additionally, VR can offer a deeper and more fulfilling experience when enjoying tourism in the village. Therefore, the implementation of VR can serve as a strategic tool to boost tourist loyalty and long-term success in the tourism village sector.

Abstract

Driving behavior significantly influences tourist comfort and experiences in a destination, making traffic management a critical consideration for tourism-focused cities. This study examines driving behaviors in Bandung and assesses their impact on tourists' comfort and overall experiences. A total of 300 respondents, consisting equally of drivers and tourists, participated through an online questionnaire administered via Google Forms across West Bandung Regency, Bandung Regency, Cimahi City, and selected areas of Sumedang Regency in West Java Province, a method particularly effective during the COVID-19 pandemic. Descriptive statistical analysis and independent t-tests indicate that driving behavior among Bandung residents is moderately deviant; however, most drivers tend to comply with traffic regulations and consider receiving telephone calls while driving as relatively unimportant. Nevertheless, tourists emphasize enhancing public transportation services and traffic orderliness. The study confirms a significant relationship between driving behavior and tourist experiences, highlighting the need for targeted improvements to develop Bandung as a more comfortable and attractive city for residents and visitors.

Abstract

Tourism managers and the government are constantly striving to monitor and encourage every tourism activity to adhere to reasonable limits and principles of sustainable tourism. On the other hand, the pandemic has reshaped people's travel preferences, particularly due to numerous digital changes and a wider choice of attractions and activities that are no longer concentrated in cities. People are increasingly venturing out of their homes in safer and more comfortable ways, often choosing natural outdoor spaces as their destinations. This research aims to explore tourist experiences within the context of the sustainable glamping experiencescape, using Bobocabin West Java as the case study. The analysis focuses on natural, functional, social, sensory, and cultural dimensions. The research employed a literature review and in-depth interviews with 10 visitors categorized as solo travelers, family travelers, and group travelers. Data were analyzed using an open coding approach to identify relevant thematic patterns. Findings reveal that natural landscapes serve as the main attraction, distinguishing glamping from conventional accommodations, complemented by modular facilities and smart technologies that enhance comfort. Social aspects, such as friendly service and safety assurance, alongside the inclusion of local SMEs and cultural representation, enriched visitor experiences. Nonetheless, limitations remain in communicating sustainability agendas, accessibility, and the availability of communal spaces. These results underscore the importance of managing glamping through comprehensive sustainability principles to deliver economic, social, and environmental benefits while enhancing tourism competitiveness.
