Abstract

Tourism managers and the government are constantly striving to monitor and encourage every tourism activity to adhere to reasonable limits and principles of sustainable tourism. On the other hand, the pandemic has reshaped people's travel preferences, particularly due to numerous digital changes and a wider choice of attractions and activities that are no longer concentrated in cities. People are increasingly venturing out of their homes in safer and more comfortable ways, often choosing natural outdoor spaces as their destinations. This research aims to explore tourist experiences within the context of the sustainable glamping experiencescape, using Bobocabin West Java as the case study. The analysis focuses on natural, functional, social, sensory, and cultural dimensions. The research employed a literature review and in-depth interviews with 10 visitors categorized as solo travelers, family travelers, and group travelers. Data were analyzed using an open coding approach to identify relevant thematic patterns. Findings reveal that natural landscapes serve as the main attraction, distinguishing glamping from conventional accommodations, complemented by modular facilities and smart technologies that enhance comfort. Social aspects, such as friendly service and safety assurance, alongside the inclusion of local SMEs and cultural representation, enriched visitor experiences. Nonetheless, limitations remain in communicating sustainability agendas, accessibility, and the availability of communal spaces. These results underscore the importance of managing glamping through comprehensive sustainability principles to deliver economic, social, and environmental benefits while enhancing tourism competitiveness.

Abstract

Popular culture is known to have an influence in building human behavioral intentions. Moreover, now, popular culture from South Korea or often referred to as "Hallyu" has become a phenomenon among Generation Z in Indonesia. Along with the "Hallyu" phenomenon that is occurring, data shows that there is an increase in the tourist trend to South Korea. This then raises the question of whether there is an influence of "Hallyu" on intentions to visit South Korea. Thus, this research aims to build a model and find out the influence of involvement in South Korean popular culture on the formation of intentions to visit South Korea. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires online to 361 respondents from the population who like "Hallyu" popular culture in West Java. The data collected was then analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The findings of this research indicate that visiting intentions can be built by factors involving South Korean popular culture. Situational involvement has a significant influence on the formation of individual visiting intentions, but lasting involvement does not have a significant influence.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has significantly accelerated digitalization in Indonesia, particularly in the Fintech sector. Fintech, which focuses on Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME), has experienced rapid growth during the pandemic. This study analyses the impact of inflation, MSME production growth, and the role of Fintech on GDP. The research uses a quantitative approach known as analytical descriptive research to gain a comprehensive understanding with four variables which are observed. The data was compiled by offiacial resources, such as Bank Indonesia, Indonesia Statistic Bureau, and Finance Services Authority. The results indicate that inflation has a significant positive effect, while MSME production growth is positive but insignificant. Furthermore, Fintech positively and significantly contributes to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Fintech can be optimized to increase MSME production growth and GDP, even though it does not mediate between inflation and GDP.

Abstract

Community-Based Tourism (CBT) is a type of tourism that includes community participation as the main element in achieving sustainable tourism development goals. Community participation can be realized if a community has substantial social capital to move collectively to increase living standards. This research explores the community's cultural values in the UNESCO Ciletuh Palabuhanratu Global Geopark (CPUGG) area as the main element in forming community social capital. Using a qualitative case study type method, the author explains the dynamics of business actors in Ciletuh in developing their businesses through the concept of social capital, which includes social relationships, norms, values, and beliefs in society. The research results show Sundanese cultural values, such as (1) Sabilulungan; (2) Someah Hade Ka Semah; (3) Ngaruwat Alam; (4) Ngamumule Budaya; and (5) Spiritual values and beliefs. These cultural values are essential in forming social capital supporting tourism development in CPUGG. However, communities face various conflicts that can hinder tourism development

Abstract

Glamping has emerged as a unique accommodation option that offers an exceptional experience in natural environments, attracting particular attention, especially post-pandemic. Its distinction from traditional camping, along with the luxurious facilities it offers, makes glamping an attractive choice for tourists. As part of nature-based tourism, glamping needs to be examined from both sustainability and business perspectives. This paper presents a literature review using a systematic literature review approach. Empirical articles discussing nature-based tourism, specifically glamping, published between 2013 and 2023 were sourced from the reputable ScienceDirect journal portal, yielding 77 articles. These articles were narrowed down to 17 English-language articles that focus on nature-based tourism and glamping as their main topics. This literature review aims to identify research findings related to glamping and its connection to nature-based tourism that have been previously conducted. The study finds several pieces of research indicating that glamping has had a significant impact on tourism post-pandemic and contributes to individual and group development. Other findings discuss how managers are encouraged to actively manage glamping accommodations according to ecological principles while competing in the market by offering facilities that enhance visitor satisfaction and attract investor attention. Recommendations for future research directions include conducting studies that analyze and identify visitor expectations, perceptions, and recommendations through glamping experiences.

Abstract

Abstract

Ciherang Village, located in Nagreg District, Bandung Regency, West Java, has strong potential for the development of sustainable agricultural educational tourism, supported by its natural, cultural, and socio-economic resources. However, this potential has not been optimally developed due to limited coordination among stakeholders and uneven readiness in adopting educational technology. This study aims to analyze the roles and positions of stakeholders in developing agricultural educational tourism in Ciherang Village by integrating an educational technology perspective through the pentahelix approach. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method. Data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving key stakeholders, including local government officials, tourism awareness groups (Pokdarwis), community members, business actors, academics, and media. The data were analyzed narratively and organized into matrices to examine stakeholder involvement, roles, responsibilities, and readiness in utilizing educational technology, including infrastructure and digital literacy. The findings indicate that effective collaboration among stakeholders is essential for strengthening agricultural educational tourism development. The use of educational technologies, such as digital applications, QR codes, social media, and AR/VR-based content, enhances visitors’ learning experiences and improves the competitiveness of the tourism village. Nevertheless, challenges remain, particularly related to infrastructure limitations and disparities in technological capacity. This study provides insights for developing innovative and sustainable agricultural educational tourism through multi-stakeholder collaboration.

Abstract

Tourism sector growth in Bandung City has shown significant improvement in the post-pandemic period, accompanied by increasing tourist awareness of sustainability issues. Despite this trend, environmentally friendly practices are not yet consistently implemented across all hotels. This study aims to analyze the influence of environmental certification and waste management practices on tourists’ preferences for green hotels in Bandung City. A mixed-methods approach was employed using surveys of 25 tourists who had stayed at green hotels. Quantitative data were analyzed using multiple linear regression, and qualitative data through thematic analysis. The results indicate that both environmental certification and waste management practices positively influence tourists’ preferences. Certifications such as CHSE, Green Globe, and ISO 14001 enhance tourists’ trust in a hotel’s commitment to sustainability, while concrete practices, including recycling programs, reduction of single-use plastics, and food donation initiatives, strengthen perceptions of environmental responsibility. However, the limited sample size (N = 25) reduces the statistical power and external validity of the quantitative findings, positioning the results as exploratory rather than conclusive. Nonetheless, the qualitative findings provide valuable insights, revealing that tourists are willing to pay a premium, demonstrate loyalty, and recommend green hotels that align with their environmentally conscious lifestyles. These findings emphasize the importance for hotels not only to obtain environmental certification but also to implement tangible ecological practices that deliver measurable environmental benefits. Overall, this study contributes empirical evidence on how environmental initiatives can simultaneously enhance tourist engagement and support sustainable tourism development, reinforcing the role of hotels as both economic actors and agents of environmental stewardship.
