Abstract

Land cover in the area of PT Sawit Sukses Sejahtera before being converted into oil palm plantations around the year 2009 is generally open areas, shrub and degraded forest. Changes in land cover has been started since 1982 are due to the large fire in 1997 and then repeated the forest ecosystem degradation continued after the reform due to illegal logging and encroachment. Results of field observations indicate that the level of a wild life species richness is relatively low to very low and generally concentrate in areas with relatively good cover. These are as are generally secondary forest or plantation and the land is still owned by the general public. The concession area is an area containing wild life species richness is relatively low when compared to natural forest ecosystems. Then this area is also a habitat for the types of wild life that has been able to adapt to the conditions of this degraded. This region is habitat for 59 species of birds comprising 35 species belonging to 23 families, 16 species of mammals belonging to13 families and 8 species of reptiles belonging to 5 families. Then based on the results of data analysis with rare wild life/protected among the 59 species there that fall into the kind of rare/protected and included three local endangered due to habitat fragmentation and poaching.  Keywords: Ecosystem, Fragmentation, Land cover, Landscape and Species richness of wildlife.

The data that collected consist of supporting data in the form of management document, report activities, and literature. While the main data consist of RPTN TNKpS documents, the perception score of management goals (economic, social, and ecology) and stakeholders resources (human, financial, physical, DIT) with functionality, importance, availability, and tangibility attributes. The stakeholders with ecological goals like BTNKpS, NGOs, and local government while the community, universities, and the private sector more in neutral role. Abstract

Baluran National Park is a Nature Conserved Area which is one of the habitat of javan langur, however, its data is very limited. The objectives of the research is to study population and its key habitat component.   The observation had been done in March-April 2015. Population of javan langur was estimated using Concentration Count Method. The result showed that there were 93 individuals (6 groups) with average size 15,5 ± 5,381. The existence of javan langur in Balanan Resort was supported by biotic factor, including the vegetation for their feeds and cover, such as Walikukun (Schoutenia ovata) dan Pilang (Acacia leucophloea), abiotic factor including altitude, slope, distance from river and distance from disturbance (road and villages).  With regard with the habitat component, there are 4 factors of the characteristic habitat that influence, namely  biotic factors of regeneration vegetations, abiotic factors, physics factors of vegetations,  and biotic factors of climax vegetations. Keyword: abiotic, biotic, habitat, Javan Langur, population

Abstract

Damage or degradation of forests with moderate to severe category had occurred in the region of Mitrakarya Agroindo Ltd  from year 1998 to 2004. The inventory and identification of wildlife species diversity in plantation areas has done in several habitat types that still exist in this area of oil palm companies. From the observation found 25 species of mammals which belong to 17 families, 47 species of birds belonging to the 20 families and 5 species of reptiles. Abstract

Ecosystems Degradation in the region of Aditunggal Mahajaya Ltd had caused the region to be functioning poorly as wildlife habitat. This was indicated by the low level of wildlife encounters, both on observations during this study as well as from interviews with some of the people who live in the area. In addition, other factors causing decline in wildlife populations was the high level of animal hunting.  Most of the wildlife was found in a wooded area that had a relatively good canopy cover.  This condition was found in the area around the river, and it was also found in the mix rubberwood forest areas owned by public administrations of Ayawan River Gardens (saye). There were 15 species of mammals, 17 species of birds and three species of reptiles found in the area which included in the rare/protected category from the total of 27 species of mammals, 54 species of birds, 6 species of reptiles found in the region. Keywords: ecosystem, habitat, wildlife, and diversity of wildlife species
