Abstract

This observation objection to cover bird diversity in Sibau Watershed, Betung Kerihun National Park (BKNP). The observation was done in along river (Sibau Rill, Sibau River, Apyang River, Menyakan River) and hill (Menyakan Hulu Hill and Apyang Hill) and point at transect. That habitat is riverine. Amount of bird was found are 93 species from 31 family with 39 species new record for Sibau Watershed. The large abundance is Edible-nest Swiftlet (Collocalia fuciphaga), and than folowwed by Asian Palm-swift (Cypsiurus balasiensis) and Whiskered Treeswift (Hemiprocne comata). The total individu was found is 660 individu with vaule of diversity index is 3.7618 and evennes index is 0.8299. The five bird species is endemic to the Borneo, one species is Appendix I CITES, 13 species is Appendix II CITES, 26 species is protected, and five species is treathened.

Abstract

Dragonflies and damselflies (Odonata) are insects with an important role for biological control and environmental quality indicators. Odonata are scattered in various types of habitats, especially those associated with freshwater ecosystems. The aim of this research is to study the diversity of odonata in various habitat types in Leuwiliang District, Bogor Regency. The study was conducted on 10 habitat types with a total of 1289 observation lines. In total found 23 species of odonatan from eight families and two sub-orders. The highest species richness was found in stream water habitats (22 species) and the lowest in field habitats (five species). The chi-square test for the number of species and the number of individuals differed significantly between habitat types. The species diversity index ranged from 1.23-2.24 and the similarity index ranged from 0.39-0.71. The highest community similarity index was between lakes habitats and field habitats. The results of the MDS analysis resulted in three groups of odonata communities according to their habitat type.

Abstract

Burung adalah komponen unik ekosistem yang dapat dijumpai di berbagai lanskap termasuk lanskap pedesaan. Dominasi kegiatan pertanian menjadi ciri lanskap ini. Kecamatan Sukmakmur Kabupaten Bogor merupakan lanskap pedesaan yang belum pernah terdapat publikasi berkaitan dengan ornitologi di wilayah ini. Peran penting burung serta manfaatnya bagi lingkungan, menjadikannya alasan penting untuk melakukan penelitian yang terkait dengan keanekaragaman jenis burung di suatu wilayah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi keanekaragaman jenis burung di Kecamatan Sukamakmur Kabupaten Bogor. Penelitian dilakukan pada Bulan Maret sampai Mei 2021 di delapan tipe habitat yaitu hutan sengon, hutan akasia, kebun campuran, semak belukar, padang rumput, sawah, danau, dan sungai. Data burung diambil dengan metode IPA berukuran diameter 40 meter selama 10 menit. Data habitat diambil dengan mendeskripsikan kondisi vegetasi yang dominan. Data dianalisis secara kualitatif untuk status jenis burung, sementara data kuantitatif dianalisis dengan chi-square, indeks keanekaragaman jenis, dan indeks kemerataan. Keanekaragaman jenis burung yang dijumpai sebanyak 35 jenis dari 22 suku dan 10 ordo tersebar di seluruh tipe habitat. Seluruh jenis burung merupakan catatan baru ornitologi untuk Kecamatan Sukamakmur. Enam jenis burung termasuk dilindungi perundangan Indonesia dan dua jenis termasuk dalam Daftar Apendiks CITES. Satu jenis burung yaitu Ayamhutan hijau (Gallus varius) termasuk jenis unik yang tidak dijumpai pada wilayah lain yang berdekatan sehingga menjadi ciri jenis burung di lanskap pedesaan Kecamatan Sukamakmur. Jenis burung paling banyak ditemukan di habitat kebun campuran dan padang rumput (25 jenis burung), sementara yang paling sedikit adalah habitat sawah (tujuh jenis burung). Tiga jenis burung dapat ditemukan di seluruh tipe habitat. Nilai indeks keanekaragaman jenis burung tertinggi di habitat sungai (H’=2,71) dan terendah di habitat hutan sengon (H’=1,67). Nilai indeks kemerataan jenis burung tertinggi di habitat hutan akasia (E=0,97) dan terendah di habitat sawah (E=0,70).

Abstract

Dragonflies are insects that mostly live as nymphs and are related to aquatic habitats and act as bioindicators of environmental quality. The purpose of the study was to identify the diversity of dragonflies in various habitat types in Cipeuteuy Village. This study uses the line transect method measuring 100 meters with a width of 20 meters right and left and the duration of observation is 15 minutes per each observation line. The study was conducted in nite habitat types from 52 locations. The total dragonfly found were 13 species from four families. The highest dragonfly richness was found in the rice field habitat as many as 12 species and the lowest species was found in the citrus garden habitat as many as three species. The dominant species of dragonfly found in all habitat types is Rhodothemis rufa. The overall dragonfly diversity index was 2.56 and ranged from 1.10 to 2.48, and the evenness index ranged from 0.57 to 0.90.

Abstract

Birdwatching is one of nature recreations focusing on enjoying the wild birds. This activity is a hobby that continuously develops and has high economical value, besides beneficial related to conservation. A study of birdwatching in Indonesia is only focused on a bird potential supply concept in various locations without any demand study. A demand study is expected to become the basic of birdwatching management following the birdwatcher desire. This study aimed to analyze the birdwatcher characteristics in Indonesia on demographical, experience, motivation, and preference aspects. The study was performed on February to April, 2020 using online questionnaire distributed to Indonesian birdwatchers. The respondents who completely filled or nearly filled the questionnaire were 1257 birdwatchers. The respondent demographic is dominated by male, adolescent and early adult, living in the city, high educational background, and conservation organization member. The birdwatching experience is dominated by less than 3 hours activity. The protected area becomes the most-visited location by birdwatchers followed by the urban landscape. Bird identification is mostly carried out through visuals rather than through sounds. The most commonly used equipment is the bird fieldguide and binoculars.

Abstract

Belitung Island is a satellite island of the mainland of Sumatra Island. So far, bird research has been very rare and there have been almost no recent publications, so research on birds on Belitung Island is needed. The research was conducted during February-April 2020 in seven habitat types in 18 locations. Data were taken using the IPA (Index Point of Abundance) method with observation times between 05.30-09.00 am and 03.00-06.00 pm. Qualitative analysis was carried out on the bird status, while quantitative analysis was carried out using: 1) chi-square for bird species richness; 2) Shannon-Wiener diversity index (H'); 3) evenness index (E); and 4) bird community similarity index (IS). There were 111 bird species from 40 families and 13 orders. The birds found significantly different between habitat types for the number of species (χ²count = 23.73; df = 6; P < 0.05) and the number of individuals (χ²count = 361.65; df = 6; P < 0.05). The number of bird species found ranged from 14 species (lake habitat) to 50 bird species (coastal habitat). One bird species can be found in all habitat types, namely Cinnyris jugularis. Nine species of shorebirds were found. The bird diversity index (H') was obtained at 3.83 which is included in the high category and the bird evenness index (E) was obtained at 0.81 which is included in the high category and means the community is stable. The community similarity index (IS) values between habitat types ranged from 0.10-0.33.

Abstract

Until now, many people still use plants as ingredients for traditional medicine. The production of medicinal plants as raw materials for traditional medicine has also continued to increase. This study aims to identify the types of plant simplicia that are traded in the traditional market in Bogor City. The research was carried out in January 2023 by surveying all traders in all traditional markets in Bogor City. The results of the study found seven sellers of plant simplicia in three traditional markets, namely Anyar Market, Gunung Batu Market and Warung Jambu Market. There were no plant simplicia traders in the other seven markets. There were 76 species of plant simplicia found from 38 families. The family with the most number of species is Zingiberaceae with 15 species. Habitus of plant simplicia consists of seven types which are dominated by herbaceous (44%). The plant simplicia part that is used consists of 13 kinds which are dominated by the leaves (16 species). The use of plants simplicia is known for 32 kinds of medicinal treatment. The most widely used form is the treatment of the digestive tract (37 species). Six species of plant simplicia have status according to both CITES and IUCN.  Plant simplicia is sold at various prices.  Plant simplicia is sold for a fruit unit, a bundle, a pack, or a kilogram with prices ranging from IDR 5,000 to IDR 300,000.00.

Abstract

Ethnozoology is the study of the relationship between humans and animals. Ethnozoological studies are closely related to culture and local knowledge and their interactions with the surrounding environment. The Sumba people with the marapu belief are known to have close relationships with various types of animals. This study aims to identify the types of animals used by the people of three villages in Sumba. The results showed that 23 species of animals were identified as part of the ethnozoology of the three villages. Species of animals related to ethnozoology can refer to several species scientifically. The forms of utilization by the community are as part of traditional and religious rituals (five species), traditional medicine (five species), consumption (six species), artistic values ​​(seven species), and mystical values ​​and omens (seven species). Abstract

Kupu-kupu (Ordo Lepidoptera) bernilai penting sebagai polinator, penyeimbang ekosistem, serta indikator lingkungan.  Kupu-kupu memberikan respon perubahan lingkungan serta bentuk pemanfaatan lahan.  Kawasan Goalpara dan Perbawati memiliki sejarah panjang dikelola sebagai lahan budidaya sehingga diperlukan penelitian untuk mengidentifikasi keanekaragaman jenis kupu-kupu di kawasan ini.  Penelitian dilaksanakan pada Bulan Februari-Mei 2022 di lima tipe habitat yaitu kebun teh, kebun kopi, kebun bunga, kebun sayuran, serta setu/danau.  Kupu-kupu yang diamati adalah individu dewasa (bukan ulat) diambil dengan metode sweeping.  Penelitian menggunakan metode garis transek berukuran panjang 100 m dan lebar 10 m serta durasi 30 menit pada pukul 08.00-14.00 WIB.  Data dianalisis dengan indeks keanekaragaman jenis serta indeks kemerataan.  Kenakeragaman kupu-kupu yang dijumpai sebanyak 19 jenis dengan jenis dominan adalah Ypthima pandocus dan Eurema blanda.  Nilai H’ sebesar 2,23 dan nilai E sebesar 0,76.  Jenis paling banyak dijumpai di habitat kebun teh yaitu sembilan jenis, diikuti habitat setu/danau yaitu delapan jenis.  Satu jenis yaitu Ypthima huebneri dapat dijumpai di seluruh tipe habitat.
