Abstract

This study examined the effect of the RADEC model (Read, Answer, Discuss, Explain, and Create) on science literacy among fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 02 Bejen, Karanganyar, during the 2024/2025 academic year. A quantitative approach with a one-group pretest–posttest quasi-experimental design was employed, involving 31 students. Data were collected through multiple-choice tests, observations, and documentation. The instrument, tested for validity and reliability, consisted of 20 valid items with a reliability coefficient of 0.879. Data analysis included the Shapiro–Wilk normality test and Paired Sample t-test. Results indicated an increase in the mean score from 65.65 in the pretest to 82.42 in the posttest, with t_calculated = 18.347 exceeding t_table = 2.042 at a 5% significance level, leading to the rejection of H0. These findings confirm that RADEC significantly enhances students’ science literacy and supports science learning in primary education by fostering conceptual understanding, scientific thinking skills, and academic achievement.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of using the SQR3 (Survey, Question, Read, Recite, and Review) method combined with picture story media on the beginning reading skills grade I students in Gugus 1 Sudirman Surakarta in the 2024/2025 school year. The research approach used was quantitative with a pre-experimental design using a one group pretest-posttest pattern. The study population included all grade I students with a total of 162 students. The research sample consisted of 47 first grade students from Gandekan Public Elementary School in Surakarta and Purwodiningratan Public Elementary School in Surakarta. Based on the results of data analysis, the pretest average value of students' beginning reading ability was obtained at 64.04. After treatment using the SQR3 method picture stories, the posttest average value increased to 77.13. This shows an increase in beginning reading ability, where the posttest mean score was greater than the pretest mean score. Based on the paired sample t-test table, the significance value was 0.000, where the value is <0.05. so ho was rejected and ha was accepted. Furthermore, a tcount value of -16.102 was obtained, and this value was compared with the ttable at the degree of freedom (df) = N - 1, which is (47 - 1) = 46. Based on the ttable, the value of t0.05 = 2.459 was obtained. Then look for tcount = 16.10 and ttable = 2.459 then tcount ≥ ttable or 16.10 ≥ 2.459.

Abstract

Students' thinking awareness in learning at school is not optimal because educators have not used appropriate strategies This study aims to determine the effect of applying metacognitive technique on students' cognitive them within the teaching and learning process fifth-grade science learning at SDN Gugus I Sudirman Surakarta, and to analyze the effectiveness of metacognitive strategies in increasing students' awareness and self-control of their learning process. This study employs a quasi-experimental design within a quantitative research framework One Group Posttest-Only Design with Nonequivalent. The research The study participants comprised 55 students, who were assigned to either an experimental group (n=27) or a control group (n=28). Data collection technique was through a A 20-item multiple-choice test that had been validated and tested for reliability was employed (0.739). Data were analyzed using normality, homogeneity, and an Independent Samples T-Test was conducted to compare the post-test results. The analysis revealed that the mean post-test score of the experimental group (78.15 was significantly higher than that of the control group (53.21). The research of the hypothesis test showed a t-test (2.964) > t-table (2.005) a significance level of 0.000 (p < .05) was found, which led to the conclusion that. The conclusion of this study is that metacognitive strategies have a significant and effective effect on improving students' cognitive learning outcomes in science learning.

Abstract

Prestasi mahasiswa menjadi bagian penting dari perguruan tinggi yang perlu dikuatkan. Pada kegiatan ini, penulis melakukan penguatan prestasi mahasiswa melalui pendampingan dan pembinaan lembaga kemahasiswaan. Permasalahan prioritas utama yang dihadapi lembaga kemahasiswaan adalah kurangnya pemanduan bakat mahasiswa dan kurangnya pembinaan bahasa inggris untuk presentasi dalam kompetisi. Sehingga solusi yang ditawarkan adalah peningkatan sikap sadar prestasi mahasiswa, pendampingan bakat mahasiswa, serta peningkatan kapasitas presentasi dan bahasa inggris. Solusi tersebut diwujudkan menggunakan model pembinaan sekolah prestasi yang terdiri dari 4 bentuk kegiatan. Metode pelaksanaan dengan pendekatan permasalahan yang melibatkan partisipasi aktif mitra. Bentuk kegiatan terdiri dari: (1) Pembentukan sekolah prestasi; 2) Workshop motivasi berprestasi; (3) Bimtek pembuatan media presentasi untuk kompetisi (4) Pelatihan presentasi bahasa inggris untuk kompetisi. Hasil kegiatan ini, lembaga kemahasiswaan sangat terbantu dengan penataan kegiatan kemahasiswaan. Mahasiswa lebih terarah dalam menargetkan prestasi yang ditargetkan.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of word card media integrating local wisdom elements in improving the beginning reading skills of second-grade students at SDN Mlale 1 Sragen. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, specifically the One Group Pretest–Posttest Design, was used. A total of 28 second-grade students participated as research subjects. Data were collected through oral reading tests, classroom observations, and documentation. The test instruments were validated and tested for reliability using Cronbach’s Alpha. The findings revealed an increase in the average score from 54.99 (pretest) to 71.22 (posttest). The results of the paired sample t-test indicated a statistically significant difference (Sig. < 0.001), while the N-Gain score of 0.42 was categorized as moderate. These results confirm that word card media based on local cultural elements is effective in enhancing students' beginning reading skills while also creating a more meaningful and engaging learning environment.
