Abstract

Cattle farming on the slopes of Mount Merapi is a livelihood sector that has existed for a long time, and is a tradition inherited from generation to generation. Cattle farming on the slopes of Mount Merapi or more precisely in Cangkringan District, Sleman Regency not only requires green food, but also concentrates and supplements. The provision of concentrates and supplement has been carried out by bombardment. Therefore, it is necessary to introduce another way to provide nutritions for cows, which has several advantages compared to feeding, namely giving concentrate candy. concentrate candy has several advantages, such as, it can be made using ingredients found around the farmer, and portions of the candy can be used to provide nutrition for a certain period of time, for example one month, so the farmer does not have to bother with bombardment everyday. This is the basis for carrying out community service in the form of training in making concentrate candy for cows. This community service program is implemented through a series of activities which includes socialization, Focus Group Discussion (FGD), and training/simulation. The socialization was carried out with explanations by an animal nutrition expert about the ingredients and contents of the candy, and continued with discussion and practice in making candy with facilitation and supervision from the community service team and cow feed expert. With this program, it is hoped that the community will be developed, empowered, and independent, so that they can implement this program in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

The existence of coffee cultivation has the potential to pioneer the Geographical Indication Protection Society/Masyarakat Perlindungan Indikasi Geografis (MPIG) as an effort to increase legal protection for brands and competitive advantage. One of the positive impacts of having geographical indications is that the product has a brand image that can be identified by potential consumers in the form of information regarding the advantages and benefits of the product. The service is carried out using a participatory method involving partners as the main actors with activity steps including: 1) Socialization, 2) Participatory coffee land mapping, 3) Identification of superior Arabica coffee clones, 4) Rebranding of Endemica coffee packaging, 5) Evaluation, and 6) Mentoring. The development of geographical indications for Mount Ungaran coffee was carried out through coffee land mapping, identification of superior clones of Arabica coffee and rebranding of Endemica coffee packaging. Method used Based on the results of participatory land mapping, there are 8 blocks of coffee land with both robusta and arabica types. Meanwhile, in the identification of superior Mount Ungaran Arabica coffee, there are types of Arabica coffee clones consisting of Kartika 1, Sigarar Rutang, and Lini S 795. Abstract

One of the ways that can be done to reduce the amount of waste is by managing waste from the household level as its source. The 3R system (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle), which has been advocated by various groups, has not shown significant results, thus it requires concrete efforts so that it is not just a slogan. Households are the initial key to waste management considering that households are the largest producers of waste. By looking at these conditions, household-based waste management education is one of the important ways to overcome the waste problem. This community service activity aims to increase public awareness and knowledge of household waste management. The method applied in this community service program is through organizing participatory workshops with the community. activities starting from the assessment stage, awareness of problems, practice, and management planning. With this activity comes awareness to encourage changes at the practical level in the community in implementing the 3R.
