Abstract

Cyberbullying in adolescents involves strong emotional aspects, where emotional disturbances serve as crucial signals in these cases. This research aims to understand the role of the Tri Pusat Pendidikan in addressing cyberbullying in adolescents. A literature review approach was employed by gathering data from various sources such as articles, books, journals, documents, and websites, which were analyzed meticulously. The research findings indicate that cyberbullying in adolescents is a complex issue influenced by their emotions and moral values. When emotions are disturbed or moral values are low, cyberbullying can act as a trigger. Psychological support for adolescents who are frequent victims of cyberbullying becomes crucial as they may face difficulties in receiving love and communicating effectively. Effective preventive measures need to focus on character education rooted in moral values. To achieve this, collaboration between family, school, and society namely Tri Pusat Pendidikan is highly essential. Through this collaboration, it is hoped that adolescents can understand the importance of respecting others, avoiding bullying behavior, and using communication technology responsibly.

Abstract

Ketertarikan siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) Masjid Terminal (Master) di Depok untuk membaca dinilai rendah, padahal pembiasaan akan membentuk kemampuan membaca siswa sehingga dapat membentuk kemampuan literasi mereka. Informasi awal menujukkan bahwa siswa cenderung lebih tertarik dengan gawai yang diperbolehkan untuk mereka bawa ke sekolah. Biasanya mereka gunakan gawai tersebut untuk berinteraksi dengan teman melalui media sosial atau memainkan games. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini ditujukan untuk mengenalkan siswa dan guru terhadap kegiatan kolaborasi literasi dengan menggunakan media Instagram yang melibatkan tiga puluh orang siswa. Melalui observasi, angket, dan pertanyaan terbuka diketahui bahwa siswa memberikan respon positif terhadap kegiatan khususnya kegiatan membaca dan berdiskusi secara berkelompok, tetapi mereka menyampaikan kendala terkait dengan kegiatan menulis caption yang di unggah di Instagram. Temuan dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini akan digunakan sebagai bahan analisis dan pertimbangan untuk kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yang berikutnya. Yang juga diharapkan adalah temuan dari kegiatan ini dapat memberikan masukan bagi praktisi pendidikan dan sosial untuk melakukan berbagai kegiatan pembinaan berkelanjutan yang ditujukan untuk perbaikan kualitas siswa khususnya terkait dengan kemampuan literasi mereka.

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat merupakan bagian dari Tridharma Pendidikan Tinggi untuk dapat memberikan kontribusi dan memberdayakan rakyat  Indonesia yang  memerlukan. Untuk itulah Tim PKM STKIP Kusuma Negara berkolaborasi dengan TPKK Desa Sanja melakukan kegiatan peningkatan keterampilan literasi digital kepada kader PKK, Posyandu dan remaja di wilayah Desa Sanja. Kegiatan tersebit dilakukan dalam bentuk penyuluhan terkait keterampilan Literasi digital dan pelatihan penggunaan komputer secara langsung untuk mengolah data. Keterampilan literasi digital merupakan hal yang sangat mereka butuhkan untuk lebih meningkatkan pelayanan mereka kepada masyarakat sebagai fasilitator, perencana, pelaksana, pengendali dan penggerak di wilayah Desa Sanja. Terlebih lagi banyak sekali tugas- tugas dan pelaporan kinerja mereka harus dilakukan secara digital karena terhubung  langsung dengan pengolahan data milik pemerintah. Lebih dari dua puluh lima peesta hadir dan secara antusias mengiikuti kegiatan. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari antusiasme mereka bertanya jawab dengan pemateri dan semangat mereka menyelesaikan tugas tuga s mereka. Pelatihan penggunaan komputer dapat dilakukan dengan memanfaatkan sejumlah laptop yng dipinjamkan oleh tim PKM dan sejumlah masyarakat desa Sanja. Peran serta mahasiswa yang  menjadi tutor pendamping  saat pelatihan komputer mendapat respon sangat positif dari peserta. Dengan kolaborasi kita bisa berinovasi walau dalam keterbatasan.

Abstract

Continuous population growth will lead to high human activities that affect the increase in public consumption. Increased consumption and community activities will increase the waste generated from daily life. This study aims to (1) examine the characteristics of the Tugu market traders, (2) estimate the value of the merchants' willingness to pay to improve waste management and (3) analyze the variables that influence the willingness to pay for waste management towards improving waste management in Monument Market. This study uses data obtained from questionnaire data. The analysis used is the contingent valuation method (CVM) and logistic regression with SPSS ver. 25. The results show that (1) the characteristics of traders in Tugu Market are mostly traders with high school education, income of Rp. 100,000-Rp. 250,000, the duration of trading is more than 10 years, the status of the place of trade is rent. (2) the average WTP of kiosk traders is Rp. 4,063.00. los/amparan traders are Rp. 3,078.00 and street vendors Rp. 3,545.00 and a total WTP of Rp 224,668.00, (3) the factors that influence the willingness to pay are education, length of trade and status of the place of trade.Key Words: SFA, Panel Data, Efficiency

Abstract

Penguasaan bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa asing di Indonesia menjadi hal yang dianggap penting sebagai kebutuhan dalam menghadap dinamika perkembangan global. Pengenalan Bahasa Inggris sejak usia dini dapat meningkatkan penguasaan bahasa, tetapi banyak orang tua ragu tentang metode dan waktu yang tepat.. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini ditujukan untuk melakukan pendampingan orang tua dalam mengenalkan bahasa Inggris untuk AUD. Kegiatan dilakukan di sebuah Yayasan Pendidikan di daerah Bogor dengan melibatkan orang tua. Kegiatan dilakukan melalui pamaparan konsep pengenalan bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa asing untuk AUD yang dilanjutkan dengan proses diskusi. Untuk mengetahui persepsi peserta terhadap pengenalan bahasa Inggris untuk anak usia dini, peserta diminta untuk mengisi angket. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah kesadaran orang tua tentang bagaimana cara dan kapan waktu yang tepat untuk mengenalkan bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa asing ke AUD. Kesadaran ini juga diikuti dengan pemahaman peserta tentang pentingnya kolaborasi antara orang tua dan guru dalam proses pengenalan bahasa Inggris. Kegiatan ini memberikan implikasi pentingnya integrasi yang berkelanjutan antara dunia perguruan tinggi dan stakeholder sekolah untuk berkomitmen dan mencapai tujuan bersama. English mastery as a foreign language is regarded as crucial and indispensable in Indonesia for navigating the complexities of global development. English is introduced as a foreign language in early childhood, influencing the capacity to improve one's English proficiency. At the same time, parents require clarification regarding the appropriate method and timing for introducing English to early childhood. The objective of this community service activity is to aid parents in the process of introducing English to early development. The activity was conducted at an Education Foundation in Bogor, where parents were involved. The activity was conducted by subjecting participants to the concept of introducing English as a foreign language in early childhood, which was subsequently followed by a discussion process. A questionnaire was distributed to the participants to ascertain their perspectives on introducing English as a foreign language in early childhood. This activity aimed to advise parents about the appropriate timing and strategy for introducing English as a foreign language to early childhood. This awareness led to the participant's understanding of how crucial it is for parents and early childhood teachers to work together when introducing English. The activity highlights the need for ongoing integration between the higher education institution and school stakeholders to commit to and achieve common objectives.

Abstract

Curcumin was reported can suppress the growth of blood tumor cells. This study aims to determine the physical and chemical properties of curcumin derivatives that give affect to antitumor activity of blood cells which were expressed as the best HKSA equation model. This   study   used   curcumin   and   twelve   derivatives   which   have   antitumor   activity parameters of blood cells (K562) as IC50. Parameters of physicochemical properties of curcumin compounds series and their derivatives as descriptors include net charge of atoms in the curcumin framework structure, EHOMO, ELUMO, Log P, E Hid, a, MR, Volume, Surface area (SA), Total Energy, dipole moment (u), Hf, and Mass which are the results of geometric optimization calculations using the PM3 semiempirical method with hyperchem application. HKSA equation model was built using the BuilQSAR statistical calculation analysis. The best HKSA equation model is then validated internally and externally. Calculation of statistical analysis with BuldQSAR, the descriptor that has the most influence is  obtained, namely net  atomic charge, EHOMO,  surface area, dipole moment and  Hf with  linear regression equation: Log 1/IC50 : + 1.7622 (± 0.3655) qC4 - 0.9457 (± 0.1047) E Homo + 0.0013 (0.0002) SA + 0.0575 (± 0.0216) u - 0.0068 (± 0.0004) Hf - 11.4161 (± 1.0440) , n = 10; R = 0.999; R2= 0,9990; SPress = 0.0232. as well as non-linear regression equation : Log 1/IC50 = + 15.1400 (±4.9008) qC7 + 7.4959 (± 5.6081) qC8 - 0.5839 (± 0.1397) qC15 + 0.0005 (± 0.0003) SA - 0.0054 (±0.0008) Hf - 5.7246 (±3.2476), n = 10; R = 0,999, R2 = 0,9977; SPress = 0.0341.

Abstract

YouTube as has become undeniable learning sources for students and teachers. It provides them with abundant videos that can support online and offline learning process. Besides exposing to audio visual media, YouTube enable students to display their speaking videos and get respond from teachers and friends. The respond can be in the form of giving a thumb or positive comment to their speaking performance. This can boost students motivation and confident in creating videos and encourage them to practice speaking. Therefore, this study proposes the idea of utilizing Classroom YouTube channel to encourage students’ speaking practice by allowing them to upload their videos, watching their friends’ speaking performance, collaborate, and learn to have online interaction and appreciation to their friends’ speaking performance. Further, it shows the steps of activating classroom YouTube channel to be an interactive learning platform and the procedures in an online classroom based on its theoretical perspectives

Abstract

Genre Based Approach (GBA) had been implemented for a decade in English Curriculumof Indonesia. It was expected that this approach could develop four  language skills simultaneously through its four stages of teaching and learning cycles, namely Building Knowlege of Field (BKOF), Modelling of Text (MOT), Join Construction of Text (JCOT) and Independent Construction of Text (ICOT). This study aims to review the implementation of GBA in Vocatioanal High School (VHS) and its impact to the learning process. It applied a library research to analyze two thesis and six research journals on the implementation GBA in VHS that focus mostly in writing skills. The results show that teachers  have applied GBA using the correct stages though there are some weaknesses within the process. Teachers and students give positive response toward the implementation of GBA that can be seen through their  enthusiam during  the teaching  and learning process. Finally, this study also revealed that GBA can improve students learning results that is proven from the students’writing scores that increase after the implementation of GBA.

Abstract

Vocational High School (VHS)Students are expected to work directly upon completing their study. Thus, the curriculum and material should be relevant with their majors since the skills are necessary to enter the workforce, including their English skills. The implementation of curriculum and material in VHS should have different characteristic from the ones implemented in Senior High School. English curriculum and material in VHS should contain and produce the aspects of work skills. The aim of this study is to investigate the VHS English teachers’ perception on curriculum and material implemented in VHS. The research applied descriptive qualitative research design that involved three VHS teachers in Depok as respondent. Semi-structured interview was conducted to collect the data. The study shows that teachers have unfavorable perception towards the English curriculum and material implemented in VHS. The result implies that the content of English curriculum and material are similar to the ones taught in Senior High Schools and thus are not relevant to VHS students’ needs to enter the workforce. They suggest that English curriculum and material in VHS should be integrated to the students’majors and propose ESP as the type of English implemented in VHS. Having ESP in VHS will enable students to improve their Englih skills relevant to their needs of working and eventually help them to compete in the global workforce.

Abstract

This study explores the reading habits of pre-service English teachers enrolled in a School of Teacher Training and Education. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, the research aims to identify the frequency, preferences, and motivations behind the reading activities of these future educators. Data was collected through questionnaires distributed to 54 respondents and semi-structured interviews, providing both quantitative and qualitative insights. The findings indicate The questionnaires were distributed to 54 pre-service English teachers. The statistical analysis of the data indicates that even if the majority of students have read English since they were young, they may not necessarily have good reading habits in English, specifically. It appears that just a tiny portion of them have consistent reading habits in English based on their eagerness to regularly spend time reading various types of English texts. The study also shows that most of students prefer reading fiction texts instead of academic texts which reveals the imbalanced approach toward their reading habits. Factors influencing these habits include academic demands, personal interests, and the increasing accessibility of digital content. The study underscores the importance of fostering robust reading habits among pre-service teachers to enhance their professional development and effectiveness in the classroom. The implications of these findings suggest the need for targeted interventions and support mechanisms within teacher training programs to promote a balanced and enriching reading culture.
