Abstract

This study focuses on the effect of the problem-based learning (PBL) model on the learning outcomes of eighth-grade students on the subject of the human respiratory system at Mts Al-Washliyah Stabat. The purpose of this study is to determine how the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model affects the learning outcomes of eighth-grade students at MTS Al-Washliyah Stabat on this subject. The research method used was a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test post-test control group design. This study involved all 132 eighth-grade students. The research sample was determined using purposive sampling, namely class VIII-C as the experimental class (PBL model) and class VIII-D as the control class (lecture method), with a 30-question multiple-choice test instrument, which was analyzed through normality, homogeneity, and independent t-test. The results showed a significant effect on the experimental class with a post-test average score of 84,81 compared to the control class with an average score of 72,09. The hypothesis test obtained a significance value of 0.000 0.05, which means that Ha is accepted, so it can be concluded that the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model has a positive and significant effect on the learning outcomes of eighth-grade students on the material of the human respiratory system at Mts Al-Washliyah Stabat.

Abstract

Model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) yang terintegrasi dengan kuis berbasis Wordwall terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas VIII MTs Ar-Rahman. Latar belakang penelitian ini berangkat dari rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dalam pembelajaran IPA yang masih didominasi metode konvensional. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen semu (quasi-experiment) dan desain Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari dua kelas, yaitu VIII-A sebagai kelas eksperimen dan VIII-B sebagai kelas kontrol, masing-masing berjumlah 30 siswa. Kelas eksperimen mendapatkan perlakuan pembelajaran STAD terintegrasi Wordwall, sedangkan kelas kontrol menggunakan metode konvensional. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui pretest dan posttest menggunakan instrumen esai berdasarkan indikator berpikir kritis Ennis. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan peningkatan skor pretest ke posttest pada kedua kelas, namun peningkatan pada kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi (rata-rata 45,5 poin) dibanding kelas kontrol (39,1 poin). Nilai N-Gain kelas eksperimen sebesar 75,95% dan kelas kontrol 66,08%, keduanya masuk kategori “cukup efektif”. Hasil uji paired sample t-test menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan (p < 0,05) pada kedua kelas, dan analisis lanjutan menunjukkan bahwa model STAD terintegrasi Wordwall lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi pendekatan kolaboratif dan media digital interaktif mampu menciptakan suasana belajar yang aktif, menyenangkan, dan mendorong pengembangan keterampilan abad ke-21. Oleh karena itu, model ini direkomendasikan untuk diterapkan secara lebih luas dalam pembelajaran.

Abstract

The development of digital technology in education requires teachers to be competent in designing effective electronic-based assessments that meet student needs. One important form of initial assessment in the implementation of the Independent Curriculum is diagnostic e-assessment, which serves to identify students' initial abilities, knowledge gaps, and learning characteristics. This community service activity aims to improve teachers' competency in developing diagnostic e-assessments through outreach and training at Elementary School 064014 Medan. The implementation method included preparation, outreach, demonstrations of electronic-based diagnostic test preparation, and hands-on practical assistance. The results of the activity indicate an increase in teachers' understanding and skills in designing and implementing diagnostic e-assessments in their respective classrooms. This activity contributes to improving the quality of learning assessments and supports the optimal implementation of the Independent Curriculum in elementary schools.
